Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I've been super preoccupied getting my rig properly tuned since upgrading my CPU and so curious if this plane is worth delving into as I'm pretty tired of testing and tweaking ad nauseum and am ready to return to my prior behavior of flying for general enjoyment and score using APL & SLC's scoring routines. I've come to appreciate some of the very nice improvements in 2024 that are well known by others. Right now I use Asobo Longitude and 787X, both missing liveries but otherwise work well. I'm hoping FBW gets around to updating their Neo but if they don't I would probably wait for Fenix' version though not sure when that will be. Def need more airliners in 2024 …

MS told us that this would be released today. Presumably 1600 UTC as per the usual world updates. So I guess we can expect the usual problem of slow servers this afternoon and lots of users complaining that they can't downoad it or it is not as good as they were expecting. I'm of course, looking forward to this update and hope it all works properly and doesn't break anything. For us 2024 users, I guess the update will be streamed, so there will be no downloading involved, but for 2020 users, it may be a different story. I'm suer the forums will be alight when the release finally lands after months of delays.

Not long ago I saw it recommended to delete a couple of folders and let them be rebuilt for each update to the sim. I cannot find the reference to the thread that explained that. Could someone remind me what folders to delete and rebuild with each update to keep things clean? Thanks .......

The video I posted yesterday is not entirely accurate as far as the colours are concerned. A while back, I had added a filter with the Nvidia app and I forgot about it. When I removed the filter, the colours are significantly different and actually look more realistic in my opinion in MSFS 2024, especially the greens. Here a screenshot that shows the difference. Just asking because I recently tried to purchase an aircraft from inbuilds but the bank declined it because they thought it was a fraud.

So I was able to more or less complete an entire flight with the PMDG 738 in 2024! Route was KSEA - KLAS using Live Weather, Say Intentions, and kind of GSX Pro. I spawned on the runway then used GSX to "warp" to the gate, connected ground power and gate, turned off engines, loaded a Simbrief FP (This took restarting a few times), and away I went. When trying to do the turn back into Seattle, trim and engine indications broke again but, I did manage one flight. For me the Max that came with the sim is just not good. I have tried for hours to complete a flight in it but to no avail and I just wanted a Boeing to fly. So, the PMDG does work, but YMMV. I am using SU1 Beta tho…

Was having pc issues and did a complete reinstall of 20 and 24. For some reason the FPS on 20 appears capped and I do not know why. Not using Riva or any other that I know of. Any ideas.

Navigraph seems very slow to pull up charts. over a minute.. and some charts just don't load. Anyone else having issues? Everything else is working fine - all other sites, download tests etc. I'm on a 1 Gbps fiber connection and have never had issues before. And navigraph is slow on my iPad and my desktop. Is it just me?

Does anyone know why my RDR increases when I cap my framerates? I am using a Pimax Crystal light and using the limit frame rate to 1/2 frame rate in the Pimax app (90 Hz - so its limited to 45). Without capping the frame rate, I have 13ms RDR. Capping I get 21ms RDR. I know just the basics and I am hoping someone with much more knowledge of these things can help me out. Thanks

I am on the Steam PC version, Standard. When selecting an item to buy on the marketplace I get a spinner animation that seems to never stop. I have to kill the sim in the task manager to exit. When I enter the marketplace thereafter I get an error message popup: Error. Purchase failed. Something went wrong try again later. I logged out and in of the Xbox application and the Microsoft store application. I have a valid payment method loaded. I could start the sim whilst being logged out of the Xbox application. This happens when developer mode is active or inactive. The pc was restarted. Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot this? How do…

Does anyone know the location where I should be exporting Simbrief flight plans to in 2024 using Aerosoft CRJ V2? I'm using Simbrief Downloader. I found lots of information related to 2020 but can't find anything for 2024. Thanks

I was using the FG universal mod, (version.dll), quite happily in SU1. But even though its showing active in the settings in SU2, I'm not seeing this reflected in the fps, and AutoFPS is showing FG inactive. Anyone else noticing this?

I finally found out I had an incompatible addon with MSFS 2024... It was preventing my sim from loading all the way in. I've done a fair bit of flying in the Austrian Tyrol and Switzerland of late and noticed that a lot (if not most) of the ground textures seem very pale and washed out. Do I have a problem or is this an MSFS problem and has anyone else noticed this? My ground textures in other parts of the world I have flown seem to be OK.

Hey guys . I have just done a clean install of the the latest driver. I wanted to use the nvidia app HDR RTX . It's not working now, as before the this driver it was working . Restarted sim HDR off in sim HDR on in windows. Any thoughts ? Thanks

BATC definitely is not subpar, but neither does it shine. No flight is ever new and there's nothing to get either joyful or angry about. All the flights seem very similar, I barely know it's there.

Suddenly my 2020 toolbar turned populated and full of icons occupying completely its line at the display, and the setup icon is not visible anymore, though I cannot eliminate all unnecesary icons . What can I do ? Thanks

When pushing back from any gate the tug will always turn my aircraft to the left. I am using the default B738 MAX. I can request a straight back pushback but still am turned left. I can't find any solutions doing many searches. Thanks in advance. Bob G.
