Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Based on the changelog provided, I'm curious about developers' perspectives about how much the updates in SU2 beta help or hinder them. I don't think many of the changes will change too much about my flying perspective, but I'm hopeful that it opens doors for developers to bring over 2020 products and/or makes it easier to develop for 2024. Developer thoughts on this?

Anyone know how to shut off the F/O in FSRealistic, he keeps spanking me after every landing even over the applause and clapping of the passengers over what a great landing it was.

Wondering which is the most used ATC program

Dear All, I moved the MSFS 2020 Community folder from disk D) to disk G). The simulator works normally but, when I launch PSXT, I get the red band at the bottom of the screen that tells me "If startup_PSXT: directory_iterator. The specified path D:\MSFS 2020/Community could not be found". What is the path to be able to tell PSXT that the Sim is now in G:\MSFS 2020/Community? Many thanks

I am aware of BATC and SayIntentions. I think there was another prog where you could talk to ATC - was that Pilot2ATC but was there not another prog as well or is my memory playing tricks on me?

The price range is a bit high for MSFS helicopters but it does look sweet. Been a customer of Just flight since 2013, but I would very appreciate your thoughts whether it is worth the pricetag? How is the flight physics? Thank you beforehand

I'm looking for recommendations for good medium-sized airports in Asia for download, freeware or payware. I'm not really interested in the mega hubs, but the airports should have at least one 8000' runway. Any good scenery options out there? Off the beaten path, unusual, or just nice renditions preferred. Thanks.

It works with or without Vatsim controllers (integration). There is a display so you always know whether you are talking to AI ATC or Vatsim controllers. There an AI copilot who can takeover at any time and talk to any controllers, and/or set frequencies for you. The AI copilot can assist by recalling instructions or generally assisting with the flight. Such as avoiding bad weather or advising: "Too high, need to descend to XX by YY" etc There's a Text log. And it can provide a helper to read back a clearance or taxi instruction etc. There's are Options to display small arrows or directions to help with taxi.

That way if and when you have to reinstall it, you won't lose all the settings in your folders. i.e. all of your community assets, all of your streamed assets, and all of your settings for which of these assets are active and which are deactivated. Some people here and even more people on the official forum lost all their controller profiles too. There's hundreds of messages about this on at least two threads in the official forum. That was when a "phantom update" happened to them caused by Asobo error. If msfs2024 is working, you can just move the installation. I tuned this off and I can't tell the difference. But maybe that's because I don't understand what it does, and I don't know where to look. Can someone give me an example of what to look at to see whether motion blur really makes a difference? Also, I've read that some people turn it off for performance reasons, and others turn it off because they think it looks better. I'm curious and trying to learn more about it. Thanks!

The default DA62 - who can spot the 'feature'?

In FS 2024 LPPT default airport has a big "squared" bump near the threshold of 02. What settings under GRAPHICS could make it less impactant? Is there a way to make the "mesh" less "discrete"?

Hello Flight Sim Fans! I must say it's a tad difficult to find and fly with with folks near your age via multiplayer in FS2024. I am older, retired and was thinking I could post here and see if there was any interest in flying hops, exploring, and learning in FS2024 using TeamSpeak 3. I like TS3 because it's pretty simple to use and really has no other purpose but voice comms. I am in southern new england and have lots of great spots to fly, but I will fly anywhere! After the debacle with the ghost 2024 update that wiped out my settings, I started up 2020, got a 2 GB update, and after that, the sim wants to install a 197 GB update with the content... which I had on a separate drive and has now been deleted. The Community folder survived, but the Official folder is empty. Luckily, I do not really fly 2020 anymore, but why would Microsoft have deleted all the Official content? I hope I am alone in this.. this is not good.. 🫢

Whenever I start a flight with a destination it puts me in IFR mode. So I cancel IFR to the tower and my pilot immediately requests IFR again. This is even when the weather is clear. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? And the IFR will fly you straight into a mountain ordering too low an altitude.
