Wondering if it's just me but 2024 is now unusable. Once I select the departure airport I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes before it pushes through the cloud to the airport runway. That's after a good 5 minutes after selecting the departure airport. So 15 minutes. Then once on the runway the graphics very slowly draw themselves right in front of my eyes. I start with basically the skeleton of a cockpit and grey patch for a runway. That all takes a few minutes to propegate. Performance is fine once all is said and done, but that's basically unusable in my opinion.

Continuing to explore WU19 in both 2020 and 2024. MAsobo seem to be continuing to be rather careless with their coding. I suspect the problem is the switch of suppliers to handle the AI and PG masking, or whatever the correct terminology should be. I believe they no longer use Blackshark? Anyway, the underlying PG in 2024 is both a whole lot better and a whole lot worse than in 2020. I've posted some comparison shots here - https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/666803-more-2024-regression-pix-for-other-forum-post/ It's so galling to keep hitting these appalling examples of ugliness in 2024, which is otherwise streets ahead visually (in my eyes, anyway)

Hello guys 🍻 I have had some reports this week that Addons linker is not showing the recently added SU19 airports on the map. Having not really used MSFS2024 nor followed its changes recently, i have some big doubts. Was the StreamedPackages folder location changed with SU1 (or recently) ? I did a little search but could not find precise informations. Currently, for Steam, AL looks for the SP folder here -> %appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\StreamedPackages For MS-Store, AL looks for the SP folder here : %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\StreamedPackages Are those folders not used anymore and we should …

My search didn't turn up any results - are the BS TBM and/or Dukes compatible with 2024 or at least working well enough for a decent flight? If I want to install it in 2024 do I just copy the folder from my 2020 Community folder to my 2024 Community folder? Kevin

....but failing to do so. Free flight is working great for me with the default Citation Longitude and the default Cirrus Vision Jet (which now has the checklists on the PFD). Sim runs much faster after SU 1, loads faster, no crashes. I also really like the constant improvements WT is bringing to the default flight planner. I also like the default Epic avionics (escpecially the LIDO chart integretation), although both the PC-12 and the PC-24 still need a LOT of work. Looking forward to SU2 beta!

I was on vacation last week, and didn't get to use any flight simulation. Yesterday, when I returned, I decided to do a flight in MSFS 2024. I noticed that the Marketplace was open. I see many 2020 choices for aircraft, scenery, etc. Has it been announced somewhere that these are "compatible" with 2024? I would certainly like to purchase something there for the new sim, but I certainly don't want to waste my money. Also, is it just me, or has the start-up of MSFS 2024 been improved? The sim really started up about 50% faster last night than usual. I have yet to fire it up today, so I'll be sure to check that.

15:04 He says not to use round numbers for the LODs, like 150 for instance. Instead use 145 or 155.

So there were complaints that wake turbulence wasn't working on the release of MSFS 2024. Anyways, for the upcoming SU2, it appears that they fixed wake turbulence and it will even work for multiplayer. Here is the airflow visualization of the wake turbulence in SU2:

The click sounds of the RUNWAY TURNOFF, TAXI and STROBE light switches on the overhead panel are barely audible. I always seem to get GLIDESLOPE warning messages shortly before touchdown, even when the PAPI lights are two red and two white. I end up floating a bit further than I should when I try to compensate! The PARKING BRAKE lever in the 737 is a nice, chunky affair. So why does the parking brake in the 777 look like something that has fallen out of a cheap Christmas cracker? That EFB suction cup smudge on the captain's window can be annoyingly obvious in direct sunlight Other than those little gems, I am enjoying my very, very short hauls in …

...Since I've updated PMDG Ops Center. I remember reading in these forums that there was an issue and that there was a workaround. This had to be over a year now, so I figured at this point, if I just fired it up, there would be an update and I'd be on my way. I've done a clean install of MS2020, so this was a step that I obviously needed to do. I'm just frustrated dealing with PMDG's interface and Ops center. It shouldn't be this hard or difficult to update an installer or plane. I went to PMDG website and redownloaded the 737-700. It asked if I wanted to update the Ops center, which I did. Sure enough, when I went to the Ops center, the 737 wasn't an option to mod…

I use the GFE Details filter adjusting its various sliders to selectively and greatly increase VC and glass cockpit panel brightness with minimal impact on the external view. Without it it's always been dim, dull land hard to discern details in the VC, some planes worse than others. There is I think an EyeAdaptation control or something like that one can edit but a long time ago when I played with that it seemed to make no significant difference. Unfortunately my cherished Details filter in 2024 causes a panning problem it's just not smooth as it is in 2020. If I turn Details off in 2024 it's super smooth again, but then I'm left with this dull and hard to see VC. I'…

The last couple of flights, I’ve seen very unrealistic looking snow patches at some airports. First time I saw this was at ESKS from Orbx. Then, I thought it was an issue specific for that airport but earlier today, I noticed the same issue at ENGM from Aerosoft. So clearly this isn’t tied to a specific airport. Question is if this is a general MSFS2020 issue or if it indicates I have some corrupt files on my end. Here’s an example what it looked like at ESKS the other day, anyone else seen this?

I am aware that the LOD system in MSFS 2020 can be somewhat aggressive at times. Taxiway signs/lights etc. popping into existence at relatively short range are a common sight in the simulator. I can (just about) live with this, but when this same LOD system is also applied to large objects, then it is a step too far. I took the PMDG 777F for a quick spin around LDDU Dubrovnik this morning. I landed on runway 11, exited on taxiway Echo, and turned back towards the terminal on taxiway Golf. As I proceeded towards my parking spot, I could see evidence of the aggressive LOD system in action (the expected taxiway signs appearing from hyperspace, and also some details on the fr…

Hi All! I need your help to vote up an issue that have bothered me a long time with landing gears on all aircrafts. The current issue is that when viewing aircrafts on feks, Vatsim,Ai,Online multiplayer, the landing gears just vanish when a short distance away with the camera. The issue is somehow improved in fs2024 but not enough, But in fs2020 its terrible (specialy in VR) Can you please help me vote up this issue so it maybe will get adressed in a future update. Here is the link to the forum post i made. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/to-strict-lod-rule-on-aircraft-landing-gears/709715?u=eddrik84 Thanks...

Looks like the Embraer line of aircraft are coming to MSFS in the Expert Series, as an official collaboration between MSFS and Embraer: https://www.flightsimulator.com/msfs-embraer-collab/ On Reddit, there are rumors that the E195 E2 and ERJ135 may come to MSFS:

I finally got to fly the Md-11 after shelving it for many months for it to get more matured. I am very disappointed to be honest. The sounds are much better than before, the cockpit textures and lighting is good, but not the best. But for some reason, the cockpit feels "soulless" Some things are not clickable. I am not sure what, but the plane feels off compared to other developers. Maybe its extra small things, like opening windows, sun shades, arm rest, oxygen test which are all not clickable. Does any one else have that feeling that the plane feels cold and basic? Feels like the patches are not as fequent as they used to be and the exterior art update is taking ages.

...that is the same METAR data MSFS 2024 is using? I use this in 2020 frequently and am wondering if we have access to this in 2024. One can always look at 3rd party sources but those may not be the same. Cheers
