I hope these guys are coding the engine to do post processing on the raw photogrammetry, mainly the trees / shrubs etc. Either transforming them with better definition or replacing them on the fly with sim trees. Those sim trees look much better and may react to wind etc. Will the whole earth get those or the photogrammetry ones also? That's the question. Greazer.

In a FSElite interview , the developers mentioned the fact they read a lot of feedback around and that they are thinking of making additional Episodes for the Discovery series and wondering about what they might do them about. Personally what i can think about is the following: ATC AI Traffic Seasons Multiplayer Airports Missions/Training What a day at Asobo is like What a day as Lionel at Asobo is like after the Discovery: World episode Helicopters Ground Services (if available) VR Can you think of something else guys?

Nothing important, but I wonder who they have modeled as pilots in the 747-8i, to me they look like Sebastian Wloch (Captain side) and Jorg Neumann (FO side) :-). (I tried adding a cropped screenshot on Google Drive, but this does not seem to work here).

I feel this would be a good topic for those who will be testing the Tech Alpha 1 or 2. What would you like to see tested in the new simulator to see if they are working well? I would like to see them test: Systems, Navigation, GPS, ILS, VNAV, LNAV, VOR, and how well they work. Weather and winds, crosswinds, tail winds, pressure, temp, icing, and the effect on the flight dynamics.

I don't want to be a game breaker but it feels necessary to say that in the videos that they showed us so far there's no non-Western cities at all (probably due to Bings sattelite imagery focus on the Western countries). Bad feeling about this. I think till so far we got over 1 hour of Ms 2020 footage since September and of all that time they only showed us 50 seconds+2/3 screenshots of places outside the west. One of the most important things for me will that even the most remote places on earth will have ok to good sattelite imagery. If America/European major cities have photogrammetry imagery while Africa and Asia look more like default Xplane this g…

https://www.pcgamesn.com/microsoft-flight-simulator/mods While I completely understand that they don't want 3rd party developers to go bust, I don't really agree on the "affected plans for what will be included in the base game" part. I mean, aren't we all happy that MSFS will include so much in the base game? This looks like it's going in the other direction again (I know, this feeling is only based on that one sentence). I'm really curious as to which features were affected.

A ton of info has been released today (thanks Microsoft and Asobo), it has become difficult to digest all of this and threads are appearing like mushrooms. Let's list below what has been confirmed until now and please, if you have been at the Seattle event, feel free to add what you know - Sloped runways - Offline mode which doesn't affect the experience on a massive scale - Hybrid mode (pre-download) - Always online mode - Aerodynamics (XPlane style and better) every piece of fuselage has its own impact on how the plane behaves - Rainbow created genuinely by atmospheric conditions - Sids/Stars - Augmented Bing Maps crea…

One of the X-plane's developers (Aiworthy Designs) I've been following because of their good quality sceneries just announced they won't be developing for X-Plane any longer. Do you think those kind of announcements are just the beginning? Source: I think the winds are changing faster than I anticipated (the sim isn't out yet, neither the SDK AFAIK).

The goal of XCloud is to make games accessible anywhere via internet and on every connected device. Can we expect to see MSFS accessible in XCloud? This would solve any hardware requirement issues. Sorry if this has been answered before

TLDR ; We don't need a new flight sim, we need a 3D replication of the whole real world and atmosphere so we can build any app on it (including flight sims). Several years ago I've come to the realisation that the market does not need another fully packaged Flight Sim version. Why ? Because it is too wide a topic so it can only get an "ok" experience by compromising everything. So the one-box software have to cover : scenery, weather, aerodynamics, airplanes, cockpits, trafic, ATC, etc all you can think about flight sim but in a kind of crappy way. The result is ultimately average as it can't be anything else because every topic require strong specialization. S…

Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator and Sebastian Wloch, CEO, Co-Founder, Asobo Studio were on the microphone for an interview with Avsim. A multitude of topics were covered , among them the amazing features list , it looked like the What We Want wishlist in the forums . Discussions began with the genesis of the project in 2016 and followed through the elements that brought this amazing mix of real world weather , traffic and imagery to its current point in development. accompanying Images were provided in addition to an outline of Microsoft Flight Simulator's New World , its places and Aircraft. Microsoft Flight…

Hello, I have great worry that my homecity (Bursa, Turkey) do not have up to date bing map data despite google maps, apple maps and yandex maps having up to date data. Bing maps shows my homecity from like a decade old like form 2009-2010. After this discovery, I looked my country's bing map data and It is very out dated. Even new Istanbul Airport does not exsist. What will happen for these areas, do you guys also discover that your hometown do not have recent map data? Thank you.

New beta branch available on Steam! I don't even know what to say about this one. In a new FSX (yes, FSX) open beta, they've fixed some bugs and re-enabled live weather! This ancient program is being updated! For those of us not in the FS2020 alpha or who still want to use FSX, this is very promising. Be advised, this is a beta. This is not a release. Many (most?) addons are not working. Maybe I'm imagining it, but high-density areas seem to have better FPS. Live weather is back. Remember to back up if you want to test this. 😁 I remember a while back they said they have not forgotten FSX users! Pure guess: is this is going to assist them in allowing back…

At this stage AI trees are better looking (or let's say actually look like trees) than the photogrammetry trees (sometimes very blocky). I am sure they are doing all the best in trying to improve the overall experience. At high altitudes it may not be a big thingy or flying fast. But when taxiing down the taxiway/apron I do want to see "real" trees. Trees are among those things that greatly enhance the immersion, especially if you see the correct trees at your location (which even that wasn't always a given with P3D). Anyways I was thinking when it comes to dense forests, where I actually prefer this "blocky" presentation, because you're usually unable to see anything bu…

Hi folks, So I've compiled a list of many of the locations we've seen (though they are not all included yet) grouped by general area and by whether they are created using photogrammetry or not. I hope that this gives a little bit more insight on what we can expect of the global default scenery. I personally think it is good to see that they have shown us a good mix between photogrammetry scenery and AI generated scenery up till now. Please tell me if you think I made a mistake somewhere. If this game will be a console clone (which looks like it with all XBOX advertisements), im afraid the physics department of the game will be undressed and covered with shiny bling graphics, Its a shame a console is involved in a flight simulator. Like DCS could ever run on a console, of a PMDG product. Its a true shame.

Hi Fellow Community Members, I just wanted to say I went today to XO19 and played the demo 4 times (all that were available). The team had some of the main ASOBO members there as well as the two main Microsoft bods who were hands on in the demo area. The anticipation standing in line, would I be disappointed? What would I feel? The area was smaller than the other demo areas available however it was one of the most popular aside from the new Star Wars game. People who had not played flight simulator before who were giving it a go! The visuals simply amazing were everyone's comments. The game was running on cached mode and you could choose Renton, Naples or try to…

Since the MFS devs have stated they read these forums, I just wanted to make a post regarding multi screen/tv/monitor functionality. I remember hearing there wont be multi- monitor setup available initially, however it would be great to at least be able to stretch MFS2020 in window mode across 3 screens (or in my case, three 55inch tvs) upon release. I currently use xp11 and run it off 1 video card (rtx2070) across 3 tvs in window mode. Xp11 has the option to setup 3 independent views but that slows performance and takes forever to setup and align correctly with the offsets. Stretching it across 3 tvs works much better and keeps my fps smooth. I'm hoping MFS2020 allows th…

The mesh and texture popping of different levels of detail always has been one of the biggest immersion killers for me in P3D. Unfortunately this can be seen again in the MSFS videos - as already has been mentioned by others several times in other threads. I just wanted to give it its own topic so that it does not get out of view. I do assume Asobo is aware of it and is working on some less noticeable fading / morphing technique. But then again LM apparently never considered it an issue that is worth working on, so I just want to make sure Asobo is aware that this should be something of a high priority. So anybody who also considers this important ch…

I'm thinking it would nice to have at least one helicopter. Perhaps the new Bell 505? (It's replacing the 206/407) Or something like an AS350!

The 737, in its -400 and later -800 variant, has been present in the series since FS95. In 2001, we got the 744. Later Microsoft compensated the lack of an airbus model with an A321. Now, 14 years later, we get the new generation of such aircraft (748 and a320NEO). But we all know what happened to the 737 MAX. Given the fact that Boeing is one of Microsoft partners in the sim, it would seem realistic that they left the model out of it at least until the groundings are lifted. Remember, the sim has being developed way before the MAX issue. This is all pure speculation, but i have strong reasons to believe there is a 737M coming, at least as an update. From a systems perspe…

Hey guys, just trying to compile the info we have on MFS so far into a list of aircraft we will hopefully see upon release. This list is subject to change upon new preview from Microsoft, and is based on the latest insider preview on Nov.14th update and X019 Trailer. I am not in Tech Alpha but I am sure those who got in will have a better knowledge upon Tech Alpha release. I also put up the registration as well, seems like the registration means something, I am guessing AS probably means Asobo. And registration not following MGS or XGS was probably added later with direct partnership from the manufacturers. Here goes the list in alphabetical…
