In reply to a post on FB. Sébastien Augros Raymond Fry The seasonal landscapes are planned for the release of the game. Nevertheless, they have not yet shown them because he is still working on them internally. As for the Falcon type jets, there are plans but the list of aircraft will be revealed as time goes by.

Dear Asobo Studios, Let's tackle the elephant in the room here. If you really want to impress us hard core Flight Sim users (besides all of the beautiful videos, screenshots, interviews, etc.), the studio should grant ALL users who have applied for early access alpha testing access to said Alhpa, before Christmas. Not just select invites; all of us! C'mon, tech alpha 2 applications are almost a wrap, press the button after selecting "all", then leave the studio for the holidays. No one will know! After all, we are here and supporting the Asobo / Microsoft new sim. And. It's almost Christmas! Figured I would just bring it to the Christmas table, ham and all.…

I really think the sim should have something extra to hold and grasp more than just those who simply have a love for flying, and people who will do it without any goal to reach (wanting to be successful, saving up for that next plane, or hiring the best pilots etc ) it would be really nice to add an economy system something similar to Euro truck simulator or American truck simulator, if the only thing you did in that sim was simply driving from A to B with a load no economy involved I don't think that simulator would be where it is today, I feel like as we move into the next generation of flight sim it is time we simulate everything right out the box that has to do with t…

Hello, Am I the only one to find that wings perspective seem false ? I've looked at many airplane pictures and all of them have the same 3D model problem : when airplane is turning the farthest wing is way too short and/or the closest one seems way too long. Look at X019 video trailer starting at 1:27 sec, you'ill understand my point. The closest wing is way too long compared to the other one. I suspect this wing is too stretched or that's a strange airplane ! Something is wrong, it's not looking good. J Guy

For those using MSFS2020 on a PC, will internet access be required for each session in order to use the sim? Or, for those who have the hard drive space and are able to download a particular region, will it be possible to run the sim while offline, after the initial install?

This channel mainly deals with Elite Dangerous and similar space-based games. In this video he talks about landable atmospheric planets in Elite, and for a good part of it he uses MSFS as an example of revolutionary gameworld technology showing an "unprecedented and previously unheard of" level of detail that could very well set a new standard in world detail that could let other developers (not our 3PD, he means other game developers) in the dust if they don't catch up or adapt. He even puts MSFS in the same league of long standing, extremely popular and long awaited mainstream games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Dying Light 2 when it comes to advances in world representati…

Has anyone confirmed that the simulator will include wing flex and bouncing of the wingtips? In real life the wings will bounce and during takeoff and landing, the flaps will vibrate from the rapid acceleration/deceleration, even the engine will sway slightly from all this going on, although in all the current trailers I have not seen any of this going on everything so far has seemed static and stiff. In large airplanes ie 777 747 a380 landing videos you can even see the vertical and horizontal stabilizers bouncing or flexing on landings.

Does anyone have any info on the offline mode as to whether it use the old landclass style of scenery or something else? It cant be orthos. Im talking about the initial default install of the game/sim. I know they said we can download areas for offline operation but does that mean its like XP where there simply isnt anything unless and until we download it? any info at all? Im a big fan of offline mode especially with todays interactive online games.

I know the new MSFS will have a mix of new and old code, there were two things in FSX that never got fixed, even in P3D and I wonder if you could see if they have been adjusted in the new sim, and if not maybe make suggestions to the devs. First is the vertical speed where using the autopilot. It would never actually use the speed that was set, and would descend much slower unless you jiggled the indicator. Then it would catch and react properly. The other issue comes up when using the keyboard for throttle control. It starts out fine, but after one hour it would change magically and be only 1/4 responsive. For us keyboard fliers (can use a…

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a lot of salt flying around, since the announcement of MSFS? I've spent some time perusing reactions to MSFS on both other areas of this website, as well as forums for various 3PDs like FSLabs, PMDG, Orbx, etc. I've noticed a couple of things: 1) A lot of either dismissiveness or outright hostility to MSFS - ranging from the predictable stuff (ie. "it'll be a game, not a sim", "remember MS Flight?"), to more nebulous hostility that seems to stem from the perceived threat it poses to sims like P3D and XP (I guess?). 2) A weird backlash to some third party add-on developers. As a relative newcomer to the FS community,…

This past weekend, I thought I'd visit x-plane.org and prepar3d.com to read their forum posts about MSFS2020. To my surprise, many of the forum members are in complete denial, expressing grave skepticism that Microsoft is actually going to release a new sim. (These were not six-month-old posts. These were posts new this past weekend.) Apparently, all the wonderful videos and in-person demonstrations that Asobo graciously provided to the community are a giant scam of some sort. The term "vaporware" was used over and over. One guy on x-plane.org stated that neither Microsoft nor Asobo employed any competent programmers (like him), so the promised sim next year would never a…

Ok, so having a private pilot license since 1991 I think I have got take off and landing in uneventful situations pretty much understood. I am MORE interested in FS to not only see my house and get from point A to B, C & D, but to SIMULATE things I might not have had to deal with or not as often to deal with. I mean emergencies including RTO and having to confront animals on landing, a bird to the windshield and prop after take off. These seem to cry even more so with how much better in multiple ways FS is going to be with Asobo behind the wheel. I flew a friend of mine and myself in early 2000's to KDAB one year in a 172 for a Daytona 500 race and departed KD…

Can't remember seeing this interview, hope it isn't a double post: http://www.xboxygen.com/News/31562-Interview-d-Asobo-pour-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-2020-la-technologie-et-le-multijoueur?fbclid=IwAR2WNcWlBZ43AfJb-x-mHil_s4-gfrnpjiPHL7zQr_-rsx3eiTpyR-bJJh4 Translation credits go to Jonathan Sawyer (source Facebook): We spent a lot of time with the new Microsoft Flight Simulator during this X019. With the eye of a big beginner in the world of aviation games, we were able to exchange with several members of the French studio Asobo, and more particularly with its CEO Sebastian Wloch for an interview on site. We also thank David Dedeine, Chief Creative Office…

I love seasons. I'm a Minnesotan. We have all four of them (or maybe just Winter and Road Construction lol). In the Twin Cities we'll typically have snow on the ground from December till March, and I mean snow covered roads, houses - from the air everything is white. However, there is so much more to enjoy about flying, than flying in Winter or Fall alone. I've decided I will purchase the new sim regardless if it has seasons or not. Thankfully I'm an xp11 user, so I already have some experience without seasons. Flying in the summer has a lot of positives. Everything is green and beautiful, it's easy to pick out landmarks (vfr a joy), you have pretty clouds (and…

Some good souls keep on repeating that FS20 is the Farm Simulator. Some other good souls keep on using FS20 for MS new baby. Deadlock ? I propose a historical compromise : to launch the sim on July 21st, 2020 in Mitchell, South Dakota at the International Flying Farmers Convention. E3 ? Boring ! Be original, be hip Microsoft ! Go to the IFF convention ! Read this, these guys know what flying is all about : https://www.internationalflyingfarmers.org/history PS yes, the FS20 news are a little low these few days 😋 !

I can't help but think about possibilities that extend beyond our traditional perception of flight simulation once MSFS is released. By all accounts, this will be a dynamic "ecosystem" that will produce a virtual, evolving world. If that can happen with weather, scenery and features on the ground, I wonder if players, yes, I said players...because this will become a console game at some point that reaches the masses, can create their little places in that world. We can all fly, but can people build scenery, mods or addons that allow them to take a nice drive somewhere? Perhaps they can walk through and explore cities. Maybe players will be able to create avatars and …

I found an interview of Sebastian on the French site XBOXYGEN. Translation by Google, corrected by me. Xboxygen: So about the game on PC, is it necessary to have a war machine to run Microsoft Flight Simulator? Is it the fact that the game is connected to the Internet that allows it to be so pretty, or is it the config that does that? Asobo: The Internet connection makes it possible to have a world of this size with as much definition. In fact it can even make things a little more difficult because it's a lot of data to display and we have an incredible level of detail. We have 20 levels of detail, from the smallest to the largest. As soon as there are things a …
