Do you think they will have power lines on the power towers? I hope so!

Can I ask some people to please stop in every opportunity informing us that they won't buy any add-on until MSFS is released? You can find these people in: 1) MSFS preview topics 2) New P3D/XP product releases 3) Previews of upcoming P3D/XP products They are the flight sim vegans. They won't lose an opportunity to let everyone know that they wont buy anything before MSFS is released. To these people, can you please stop? It's getting too repetitive and not adding any value to the discussion. Everybody is free to do what he wants with his money. Keep that information for you. Thank you.

We have all seen FS20 impressive vid segments taken at high altitude. To see at a 600 km horizon, you need to be at approx. 90,000 feet, if not mistaken (no refraction). Few aircraft fly that high. One is the majestuous Dragon Lady, the U2. Well not up to that altitude but 700K+ is good enough to have a spectacular view of the Asobo world passing by beneath ! It is high time to have one and the new sim is a golden opportunity for that. Of course you'll have to also simulate the chase car to help the landing ! I know that the SR71 flies even higher than the U2 and that my favorite French aircraft, the Mirage IV, could fly at FS600. They would be nice t…

I don't see it ever in these forums, but one thing the team mentioned, about a feature to display visual aids to help get into new planes and learn how to fly them, that could be a big deal IMO. Because in XP it can really take some time to re-learn how to fly a particular plane if you haven't flown it in months or years. So these aids, however it turns out could be real useful to jump in and just fly; I think its an excellent idea. Greazer.

From the start, we have all assumed that 4k was the only way to go for FS20. I’ve not made my mind though. I run today P3D at 2560x1440 on a 27in monitor and I am satisfied of the quality. The only AA problems I’ve, come from my weak CPU. So do we need 4k or is it marketing hype ? It would be great if the best hardware available next year wouldn’t just keep our nose barely out of the water. What about a 2080 pushing a 2560x1440 res of all these lovely photogrammetric or azuric (?) sceneries ?

so much more details to create new aircrafts. Simulate the icing, like in the weather video of yesterday. Need so much of flats for the aerodynamik. Will the developer will be able to create the aircrafts so detailed how we need and how much time will they need?

Many of us are not developers but still loving to correct airports and add stuff. We merely scratch at the surface of the SDK potential but have fun still. No expensive GMax (Sketchup at most), no Photoshop (or at most the C2 free version,) no C++ programming I'd love to be able to continue that. If I had a wish it would be to have a placing tool like the now defunct Instant Scenery coming for us non Pro.

I love what I see in MSFS 2020, but I don't know much about the default airports. I guess Azure will enhance them somewhat. I fear my payware airports in P3D will need to be repurchased, and because of the high demand will be sold at full price without discounts. I mean, why discount airports for the best sim in the world, right? With my catalog of Orbx, Flightbeam, Fly Tampa, etc..., it could be a huge chunk of change. So, is anyone else thinking about this? Is my logic off here, or are there some facts I'm not aware of?

As a flight simmer since the early days of Flight Simulator 2, I feel so neglected by MS 😞 I was not invited as one of the for Alpha Tech testers, but some new flight simmers born after the FS2004 edition came out were? What a shame. Don't MS appreciating us old customers???? I think I'll invest in XPLANE11 and never look back. Not serious, just kidding(but a little disappointed I must admit)

Airports ! I’d love to have a video to see how they are building aiports. We had a glance on LAX on the initial trailer and one on Renton more recently but they were just that, glances... Please not Heathrow or CDG or Hong Kong which will be covered by 3PD anyway but medium size aiports (off my hat, what about Mérignac 😀, or, more exotic, Honiara in the Solomons, or Kagoshima etc) and small airfields (Propriano, iconic Darrington, Plockton, etc.).

Is it me but I've the feeling that this forum has a more multinational audience than usual for an Avsim Forum with a lot of Europeans. I see French (three at least and very active !), Italian, Dutch, German, Scandinavian, British simmers in a proportion over North American simmers greater than usual. I am sure I missed some nationalities, sorry for that. I don't know whether Avsim keeps track of that ?

Has anyone seen any mention of where real world weather data is sourced from? I've seen the developers mention "satellite data" for clouds, but I'm interested in what the real time data source is used for 60 different layers of real-time cloud data and 20 layers of other data such as humidity, pressure, temperature, wind.... Can't wait for the new sim. All the previews are incredible!!!

Sorry if this has already been done, but it seems that a lot of the content posted by MS on their official FS YouTube video is unlisted - meaning the only way I can access it is via a direct link. I am assuming these videos are unlisted and only available to people who have signed up so to speak, but that doesn't help people like me who couldn't have signed up anyway as they don't even have Windows 10 yet, let alone a computer built in the last decade that would be of any use for the new flight sim. Through my usual YouTube login, I can only see two videos - but I have seen links posted on these forums showing more than that. For example, the weather system one relea…

I don't understand all the people asking for system requirements because they want to build a new PC based on them. What they seem to forget is that the new sim is built on an engine optimized for current PC-hardware. Just buy the most modern hardware you can afford! More means better in our case. That's all. Thoughts? EDIT: Some people seem to have misunderstood. It's not that you should build a pc right now. Never said that at all.

Can anyone give a definitive yes or no as to whether the alpha 1 has been rolled out to testers? I ask because I was accepted but have heard nothing since, I thought it would of been released yesterday or today at latest.

This is the second time France has help out US in such a big way, although maybe not with the enormous consequences that the first aid got. The first time, back in 1775, was when Lafayette and France where helping the Continental Army to the ultimate victory over Great Britain in the Independent War. Now, the second time around, they are helping US and Microsoft to build the most advance flight simulator the world has ever seen. Vive La France!! I hope that Asobo will get me a VIP access to all Alpha and Beta Techs for this announcement.

I hope this is something that Microsoft sees and considers. I would certainly be willing to pay money to start playing now even though its in alpha stage. They could put terms and conditions that would state that there would be limited to no technical support until the final version is released. I for one would be willing to put up with crashes, bugs, ect for the ability to start using this simulator. Once the final version is released, I would again pay full asking price. example: $100 for alpha through beta + $100 for the final version Anyone else?

Nice to see now icing of the windshield/wings. Except... Except that it already is a feature available with FSX/P3D as shown by the old Lotus Simulation L-39 or the Majestic Dash. Most of the developers have never regrettably taken advantage of it. I hope that they will now. It would strange to see a default aircraft with it and not a payware. Just sayin'

The weather really looked great in the Feature Discovery Series 2 video. Also great to see that actual real world weather is depicted. What I missed is a mention of historic weather. I really hope that doesn't mean that we won't be able to have historic weather. Flying with only current real world weather would be a major drawback for me because I almost never set the in-sim time to the real world time - mostly because I only have tim for simming in the late evening but still want to do daylight flights. So the current real world weather wouldn't match the in-sim time which might lead to unrealistic results when thinking about daytime-dependent weather phen…

MS, unless the mentioned partner announcement kickoff originally scheduled for Oct 17 was meant to be a "silent" announcement to the partners only, when can we expect any updates here? Just wondering, since you did not use the opportunity to update the v3.1 DDR when you posted it yesterday and it still mentions the very same Oct 17 as kickoff date. Did I miss anything?

With the advent of MSFS soon approaching, it's funny my provider just snail mailed me and offer to upgrade to 1 gig download speed. To me it sounds excessive, but with MSFS do you really think I would need that from 100mbps I currently have? Hmmmm
