Perhaps I am not up to speed, but is it known if tehy will integrate depiction of SIGMETs in the weather engine? For example it could read from https://www.aviationweather.gov/sigmet/intl?hazard=all&loc=eur

Don’t know if it has been mentioned, but the official moderators of the MSFS forums have created a Discord server open to both the public and alpha testers to discuss the upcoming sim. As of now, not everything is visible to the public, but the general discussion is. The Lead Consumer Engagement Lead for MS is a member of the admins for the page. Just in case anyone may be curious. Promising sign that they may be ready to open up a bit more to the public, or maybe their forums will open up to the public as well once the website issues are fixed. https://discord.gg/r9mnDJ Cheers

"Mouais" is colloquial French*, it is a reluctant "oui" (yes). Something like "yeah" when twisting your mouth. The screenshots we see today are again very nice even I am a little tired of the "blood" sea at sunset that I find a tad overdone but, Heavens, it is always always the same kind of landscape ! Please pick up shots that are less cute but more diversified. Please 😉 ! Can't we see rice paddy field terraces in Asia (Sri Lanka, Philippines etc.), the red massifs in Mali, the jungle in Congo, the Jordan Valley, Hong Kong, Japan (and not the Fuji !) , a bush strip at last (Idaho, Alaska, PNG, Amazon, wherever !), a Aegean Sea island (Santorini !), Rajasth…

Anyone has an issue with Login to MS web side and forum? Since yesterday no way to login in FS website. In the forum, seems I’m logged in but since I’m in the Alpha program, I don’t get anything. Georgios https://www.flickr.com/gp/186531599@N02/Gx525x

I posted a topic entitled something like "FS2020 points you may not be aware of", or something like that. Now I'm sure there was a perfectly valid reason to delete the entire topic, I have no issue with that, but in future, would it be possible to drop a PM to the person that started the topic, so we actually know it's been deleted and why. Saves me wasting time trying to find it and its just manners.

I have the DR 400 from Just Flight for X-Plane and the DR401 from Aerobask ( a great free download) for X-Plane also... Love this little aircraft. Steam gauges or full glass displays, or a combination of both? Being a French aircraft I wonder if there will be more than one version available in FS2020? Same for the C-172. Guess we wait and see. Got my PPL with a C-150 just before the 1st Flight sims even got started, so I have seen the entire gambit.

All the details aren't yet worked out, but the devs confirm that no subscription is required. In addition, you won't need a games pass for the full experience.

Since MSFS was announced, I kept wondering if the AI technology MS used for its geo research and data sectors (i.e: AI For Earth) is somehow involved in building the MSFS world. Also, the millions of footprints MS released for the US and Canada a couple of years ago, also produced by its AI, could be a prelude to the use of AI for MSFS... But since I hear people talk or think about Azure AI as doing this or that for MSFS, these ressources could explain what the deep machine learning process at MS did for the geo census and mapping sectors: MS AI For Earth: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/ai/ai-for-earth-tech-resources A tech article explaning how AI is used…

February 6th-ish, 2020 – Development Update POSTED BY: MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR TEAM We are going to keep this update brief, big update coming on 02.13. Screenshot credit – ChicoMick “The only thing I hope is that people are serious about bug reports and suggestions/feedback” Reddit User There are two important tasks the team is currently working on: ALPHA ACCESS – For those that have not received Alpha build access (press F to pay respects), we are actively working to increase the number of participants. I bet most of you already have some planned routes in their heads or even on paper/PC. My plans are as follows: - Start at my local (EPPO) airport and fly C172 around my city, find my house, see all those local POIs Later, when I check every aircraft: - Fly VFR around my country (Poland) - Fly VFR around the shores of the Mediterranean sea (DA62) - Fly VFR around Europe (TBM930) I currently use X-Plane 11 and in 95% of cases I fly airliners IFR, so... my plans even surprised myself... GA aircraft and VFR... I guess only when I feel satisfied with all those stunning views I'll jump into a cockpit of something bigger. So, what are you plan…

Much of what I have seen so far to my delight confirms what I expect in the next gen sim, but here are some items I would like to see improved: - Better AI traffic, not just planes, also cars, trains and ships. I like to see cars jamming the highways and roads in and around cities and see the corresponding lights at night. In the current stage, from what I have seen, cars are too few, randomly disappear, behave erratically or float in the air. Wonder if this AI was imported straight from FSX and landed in this new sim. It is one of the least impressive yet eye catching details about the sim in my opinion. - Waves breaking on shores (might be there already but d…

As far as I know, there are some (many?) Alpha testers among us. I know they cannot answer many questions due to the NDA regulations... However, sometimes it's possible and a simple Yes or No, without any specific details, would be ok... So I'll try... 1/ Do you have a full access to the whole globe now? Can you choose ANY airport you wish? 2/ Do you have a full access to all aircraft, including jets? 3/ This one is related to the gameplay, so I doubt someone could answer, but... I like the X-Plane function where I can position the camera as I like and then store that position using the Num keys. Is saving views in a similar way possible in MSFS? Thank…

The third in a series of threads about emails received (or not) inviting you to participate in the Flight Simulator test program. This thread is ONLY for ALPHA, which was originally known as Tech Alpha 2. Emails are due to be sent all this week (w/c 20th Jan). For those of us (ME! ME!! ME!!!) that didn't get an invite on the previous 2 invite batches.... here we go again.

Hello @ll, there is one thing that has always bothered me about the nighttime lighting in our simulators, be it default or addon. In my country, the roads are only illuminated in and closely around the city. There are no strings of lightbulbs along the Autobahn, let alone the smaller cross-country roads. While it looks great from an aesthetic standpoint, it is not realistic at all, and to me personally, those endless strings of light kill immersion every time. I know what my country looks like in real life as seen from an aircraft, and this isn't it. In MSFS, I would like to have some control over the lighting please. So I can switch off lights for example…
