The EP5 Discovery video will be about sounds. I'd be interesting to hear from real pilots here what they expect from FS20, where it can be better. Specially from the driver seat, engine regimes, environmental noises, clicks etc.

Yesterday a beta tester uploaded 3 videos to YouTube (the longest one was 30 minutes) I managed to download a copy of all 3 of them before the videos were marked as private viewing only. The uploader was not very bright as he also had a camera on himself while playing on 2 of the videos and the full watermarks. The videos are marked as private now and not able to view. I'm not going to link the YouTube channel or send anyone a copy of the videos. I'm a bit annoyed because we all wanted to get in and do the right thing and yet some that do get in don't do the right thing. He was also extremely bad at flying. Is there anywhere were we can report video …

I searched and did not see this ask yet, and I have not read all, just used Search feature. Will the new sim include reverse trust option for Throttle hardware ( CH, Saitek, HC)? Other than assign F2 to reverse, Xplane11 has this feature modeled right. I try not to mention other sims (I have almost all sims) and still I use FSX the most. Addons I like are FSX. Hope Reversers are included. Have a great week you all.

We all know that in the case of FSX or X-Plane the quality of most addons was stunning, when compared to original aircraft available in the game. However, when I look at the MSFS 2020 aircraft, their interiors, all that sound recording job, I'm beginning to doubt if any major 3rd party addon developer will be able to match that quality set by Asobo. Somehow I don't think that any such developer would have resources and would like to invest money to scan real aircraft for textures and sounds like Asobo does. So in my opinion the siuation may be somewhat reversed - the in-game aircraft will always look, sound and fly better than any Addons thanks to enormous amount of data …

  13. When one finds "Bird's Eye View" in Bing Maps, is this then sufficient to have buildings like in these 400 cities that have data for photogrammetry? I am asking since there are smaller towns that have Bird's Eye View in Bing Maps but are not listed in the 'Maps' app in Windows 10 as a '3D City'.

  16. I only fly these two aircraft most of the time and they are, 1. The Wilco Tilt Rotor, which is shown in my avatar and I fly most of the time! 2. The Milviz MD 530F, which is second choice! I don’t really fly any of the big jets because “I don’t want a job.” I have turned off all of them so they don’t even show in the selections. I’m retired and on a yearlong vacation and I want to explore! And, don’t think that I’m bad mouthing big jets! One of the mottos that I live by is “Free to be you and me” Wishing a good day too all! Hello guys! As there is some intense discussion going on about flight simming and the software engineering involved, I decided to open up a dedicated thread for that. There might actually be some interesting stuff to discuss, if we can keep it civil. @b737800, @mSparks and Co ... this is for you guys. Cheers!

If you don't know about him, he's one of the many YouTubers who films his flights (TBM 850) and has a large following (363K followers). Stevo did a live stream in his plane tonight (28th Jan 2020) which can be viewed here; https://youtu.be/UvHrta3GjUA Not that interesting in general, except he mentions how much he used to be into flight simulators and that he's really looking forward to MSFS. He talks about using it to fly to his bucket-list of airports, plus doing some videos of him using the sim and possibly flying with some viewers in shared cockpit.

  19. One thing that really impresses me about xplane 11 is how the autogen and infrastructure is classed by country. In germany, for instance, houses are not just blocks, but actually have pointed rooftops in the style you actually see there. Furthermore, the highways have the typical blue signs and even have German names on it. Canadian highways have the yellow lines. Cannot speak for other countries but this level of immersion and realism is quite astonishing. In MSFS, I do not need names on highway signs, but I hope autogen classification goes beyond just accurate roof colors (although that is important) and includes detail specific to the region. I hope roads have goo…

  20. I've noticed an undercurrent of concern on these forums as some dedicated simmers have started to notice that MS/ASOBO seems to be building in quite a bit of interface compatibility with previous versions of the MSFS franchise, specifically FSX. I'm writing this to alleviate some of your worries, speaking from the perspective of 40+ years as a software developer, the last 10 of which has been in the Flight Sim software business. While we all recognize the greater the compatibility with FSX/P3D the less effort, time and cost it will take for developers to port their products to the new sim (a good thing) there's a worry that the same interface means there's the same …

Guys, Its about time for us to seriously get a grip and settle down and calm down concerning MFS2020. I have noticed that most peoples expectancy levels (mine included) are way up to the roof pertaining the upcoming sim and partly thats understandable. But lets take a moment and analyse some facts. So far we have been getting short glimpses and insights from development videos and trailers that the MS team has been posting and most of us are completely awed and blown away by what we have seen so far. But think about that for a second…lets use a bit of common sense here. What we have been seeing so far is nothing more then exactly what Microsof…

I was watching, at breakfast, a video called « Winter Flying » on the YouTube Backcountry182 channel of a Costa Rican guy flying his Skylane in the PNW, prepping the aircrat, landing on sandbars etc. Summed up what I expect from FS20 : the importance of the air parameters on the flight (temp, density), the beauty of winter and of a very sharp mesh, the feedback of the micro-relief below when flying low (including trees, hedges etc.). <sigh>
