Since ASOBO seems to be listening closely to us and also trying to deliver the most realistic sim possible, I have a suggestion that I think would add a lot to the realism factor. Before anyone bashes the idea, it could always come with the option to disable the following feature as well... As I currently work at the Flight Service Station and work with entering/canceling NOTAMS day in & day out, I am intimately familiar with them and would love to see at least some of them implemented in the sim. If you think about it, they could be implemented in much the same way real-world weather is implemented. The data is out there for free in online retrievable databases! …

I think Fr Bill's explanation (in the Feb 20 development video thread pg 21 Feb 21 2020 3:48pm) that 'runways are created from available data and if the data shows undulation then so will that runway in the sim' is the best and simplest explanation and answer to that particular question but it leads me to wonder about that data. How much change in elevation along a runway is needed before it is included in the data? I could ask where this data is and it is publicly available but I personally am not interested in those answers yet. I know that airport charts list threshhold elevations but Im not a real pilot and havent even looked at an airport chart in years so…

Two-fold question that likely cannot be answered (yet), but one can wish! 🤞 1. I hope that LFBD airport is one of the "detailed" airports, I plan on making this my first departure once FS is released, in honor of Osobo Studio! 🤞 2. One of things I notice when flying (of course depending on the sun/angle and the objects on the ground) is that sometimes objects will "catch your eye" because of a quick sun glare reflecting the sunlight. Such as a shiny/metal roof of a house. It only lasts a short time, but would be neat if this was also simulated! The objects can even be as large as a POI such as the Solar Farm outside of Las Vegas below which can cause tempor…

It would be cool if we could have a copilot feature for our offline/solo flights that can basically manage AP and handle communications with ATC, especially for longer flights when we tend to take care of other things. If I were Asobo I would take that feature into consideration, and include it because it can come in handy for a lot of people.

if if I fly with a friend in multiplayer it would be nice if I can kiss wings slightly touching eachother affecting dynamics, also for refueling my friend in the air. it would be very sad if multiplayer is ghost style as if I can fly through other players.

  9. Possibly unpopular opinion, and of course completely biased by me not being an alpha tester... I don't think the way the alpha testing scheme is set up makes commercial or marketing sense. It massively rewards people who have done nothing to earn that reward, which feels different to pretty much every other commercial enterprise I transact with. If I want that gadget before anyone else I sign up for the high price, pre-release bundle. If I use a credit card a lot, I get a reward If I want to see the rock star after the show, I need to buy higher priced tickets If I want to have premium seats at the first showing of the new film, I pay for the privilege. …

  10. In the latest video, you could see massive trees again, in the scene from Chicago O'Hare. You can see here, that they dwarf the terminals and the Hilton O'Hare. This is the correct sizing of the trees: After zooming in on them, I think the reason they are appearing so massive, is that they are actually stacked on top of each other in the sim shots. The actual tree models themselves appear to be appropriately sized, but when you stack two trees on top of each other, they obviously look wrong. Hopefully, this will get fixed. Should be an easy fix. I hope.

With 8 EP released or programmed we have now some ideas of what FS20 is all about, about Asobo's goals. A welcome openness. Now, if the team keeps up the pace of releasing these videos, I would suggest one dedicated to water with a two-pronged approach : - visual : tropical coastal water, tidal basin, falls, silted rivers, swamps (Everglades !) - physical : waves and how the floatplanes will handle water at rest, taking off (step) and landing. A video that would make a lot of people happy, I think, specially the non-alpha simmers.

if I action flaps at 160 knots on a Cessna 172, I want to see the flaps strap out and fly away and not a silly message saying I have no longer working flaps but i still see them there at the external view. I also want fireballs on crash, you know hot yellowish fireballs in ground and cold orange fireballs with a lot of dense black smoke at the sea and a white water splash. if the plane separate in pieces at the crash, the 🔥 needs to keep attached on the pieces 🔥 🔥 🔥 I also want wing flex and possible cracks.

The up coming MSFS looks to be ground breaking in many ways and quite possibly in retrospect will be seen as a seminal moment. It would be great if they eventually made a documentary (even a short one) on the day in the life of the development team, deep dive into the technology, etc. If they did, I’d buy it and I suspect many here would also. But that needs footage and photos as it’s happening. I hope they’ve thought about that and have roaming photographers and film crews in the Asobo offices randomly sampling and attending formative meetings, etc. If they haven’t, I hope they read this and seriously consider it before it’s too late. History can’t be revisited in hindsi…

  20. There was recently an interview with the developers, in the Argentinian newspaper La Nacion. This is a quick rundown of some of the points highlighted. Apologies if some of you are aware of these points. 1. In tests, the calculations for the entire climate system and flight model, won't need more than 5% of a single processing core. 2. There will be 20 different levels of realism. these will be used to adjust quality based on the speed of the users internet connection. 3. An internet speed or 3 or 4 mbs will offer a good representation of the world. 4. An internet speed of 10 mbs will offer all the level of detail offered by the simulator. …

  21. In this screenshot we clearly see double shadows, one baked into the Bing image and one generated by the sim. I'm curious whether Azure AI can eventually remove baked shadows in Bing images, or at least make them pale enough to be much less noticeable. I'd imagine this kind of double shadow scene can be quite jarring when flying over skyscrapers, mountains and hills etc.
