Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I can't find a DME readout in the non G100 Cessna 172. Is this a bug/to be expected? Or maybe I'm just blind/ don't know where to look? Help, please?

Has anyone seen any coverage on YouTube or any commentary around multi-display support? Particularly, anything related to having instruments on one display and your view on another?

*Solved - sorry to be a bother with this one. It was just my impatience. Discovered that the 10 seconds or so stabilizing time at the beginning of the flight (in most scenarios) was just a lot longer due to the complexity of the scenery around Sedona. After about 20 seconds of not trying to do anything the FPS stabilized and I was good to go. Hi, As a former Seattle resident I've noticed that while flying over Lake Washington that the Highway 520 floating bridge is half under water in the Simulator. This is Microsoft's own neighborhood! I hope that this will be fixed.

I'm having trouble starting up the GA aircraft. So far I've used the c152 and c172. When I set them up and turn the key (like I do in P3D v4.5), the prop turns, but doesn't fire up. Is there something I have to do in this sim that I didn't have to do in all my passed sims? I can start it with cntrl+E, but that's just the easy way.

I have a external 1tb usb drive is it possible to use this to cache the scenery download, could I install msfs on this drive or is this not recommended.

Hi guys, has anyone had any issues with TrackIR disconnecting mid-flying? Happened to me a few times now. All of a sudden, TrackIR stops recognizing FS2020. It can recognize the TrackClip just fine though (I see the light coming off and on, on the actual physical tracker unit). Restarting the TrackIR software makes no difference either. The only "solution" is to actually restart FS2020, which isn't too much fun on longer flights. Any ideas? Never happened to me in any other game.

I bought FlightBeam's KDEN this morning and have been driving the C208B with the new FedEx repaint around looking for something with the FedEx logo on it. I found a double row of trucks near 35L but couldn't figure out how to get to them in the Cessna. I was hoping to see some DC-10s and similar cargo planes with the FedEx colors someplace here in Denver. Maybe I need to crank up the traffic sliders. I wonder if you can specify cargo and ground and location? Naw, that would be asking too much. Maybe Mir can add a cluster of FedEx planes for us. Wouldn't that be a kick in the butt? 😉

Hello, does anybody knows how to deactivate these popup tips when you point on any switch or button in the cockpit (airbus). My basic-settings are everythere: Reallistic, no help and s.o. But no chance. Every time I want to switch something a popup -box appears what kind of switch it is. That´s not very realistic for me. Thanks for help Peter .

Today I found out that there is no special flight model for the Citation Longitude! It just uses the flight model "generic business jet"! That leads to totally unrealistic max speed and way to less range. Do you guys know if Asobo plans to update the plane?

Well, I'm back, so I haven't read too many reviews, and starting as I am I don't understand 80% of the terms used by the pros here anyway. My experience has been very satisfying, and the framerate is here. I play in ultra, scale at 120, but in HD, so not so demanding in this resolution for my rig. (see the signature). Afaik there is no option for the undocking of windows in MSFS 2020...no cockpit view...no instrument views...no overhead views...nothing like we had in fsx...not even able to undock a view to a seperate monitor. Is this because they have made it ultimately with VR in mind? With VR you don't need different views. The whole cockpit is your view and you just look around. What do you guys think? Why else would they have left out all the undocking options we had in fsx?

So for older users here cast your mind back to FSX and the issues with drops in FPS when using AC that run glass displays such as Garmin etc. Originally there were tweaks that had us changing refresh rates of these glass panels in the panel .CFG of each aircraft. This made huge differences to the overall FPS whilst running. Seeming that FS2020 is having similar issues (possibly using the same base engine as FSX) maybe we can squeeze out more performance in AC such as the Airbus or 787. I've tried looking for .CFG files but the installation doesn't appear in the standard folder such as Program Files x86 etc. Thoughts?

After downloading a 3rd party airport I'd like to take a look around it and its adjacent scenery. Before, with P3D I would start at the new airport's location, then close the planes' cockpit view, and switch to Slew. Use F3 to gain a 100 feet or so AGL, then use the flight stick to move about and investigate anything of interest. Note that I'd programmed the flight stick's axis commands from P3D's Controls - slew mode page. Can I set up MFS to do something similar? I've programmed the keyboard slew commands, but that's insufficient because (a) I haven't found a way to remove the aircraft from the scene; and (b) the keypad moves the scene too far and too quickly left…

When flying with the steam gauge planes I’m unable to change the OBS or heading indicators etc in anything less than 10° steps. Is there a way to jump in single degree increments instead? It makes VOR navigation pretty painful without it. I hope I’m missing something.

Has anybody figured out the right setting for the Sidewinder FF2 on MS FS2020? The rudder has a huge deadzone where theres no response to input until it goes down a cliff?

Can someone please tell me where to find this stupid Xbox identity provider app? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I’ve downloaded every Xbox thing I can find on the Microsoft store and updated windows, video drivers, all windows store apps etc and I’m still stuck at the loading screen after checking for updates. I am really starting to regret not buying this from steam I’ve tried Malwarebytes and windows defender off. Alt-f4 and retried multiple times.
