How do you use it in general and what instrument indicates what to do? Also, does the CHT on the cub work?

Presently in the main forums, MSFS (2020) is lumped together with the old Microsoft Flight Simulators. In order to get a better overview, I would like to see MSFS (2020) separate from the old Microsoft Flight Simulators. The main simulator forums would then be: MSFS (2020) Microsoft Flight Simulators (pre MSFS 2020) Prepar3D X-Plane IPACS Aerofly Within MSFS (2020), you could then have subforums, such as scenery, airports, hardware settings for MSFS, etc etc What are opinions on that proposal?

Anyone experiencing any issues with their screens going entirely black after a while in any part of the menu and not in flight? Seems like my video output (RTX2080s) is getting completely disconnected/corrupted. I have two machines connected to this monitor so if I switch to another input all is well. Happened for the third time since retail came out, never had this happen in alpha, absolutely zero config changes on the local box. The only way to recover is a reboot.

I have installed the app in question. When I launch the app it recognizes me with the following profile: "STAGNANTCORGI99". I have not entered any profile, but now I would like to modify it by inserting a profile created by me. How to do? Thanks for the reply.

The title says it. Am I missing some thing or is this not some thing they put in this game. I have try several airports including ksfo and it is not there. No red over red your dead. Thanks for the help Ted

I’m going nuts, can’t get ATC to work in this aircraft. Even though I try CTRL-E, starting everything, it won’t allow me to use ATC. I can see ATC text, but nothing happens when I click, tried other plane, works fine. What am I missing?

I'm trying to install MFS but the install button is greyed out and it says I don't have applicable devices linked to my Microsoft account. It is linked because my PC is recognised on My Account page on the Microsoft website. Any ideas? Edit: It appears that I may require a Windows 10 update (May 2020) which I'm downloading now.

Hi All, I've searched the forum for days and was unable to find. When I jump into the cockpit at any location in the Cessna 172, the aircrafts is already running. If I try to shutdown the aircraft, it starts up by itself. Once I engage ATC, the aircraft goes to the RWY that ATC advise and takes off on it's own. I have tried changing assist in MSFS to HARD and didn't work. I have the CH products (which I understand their outdated and have to assign separately.) The only time I have full control of the aircraft is in Flight training mode, so I know the hardware is working, just not on a regular flight plan. Any help will be great. Hello hoping everyone is having a lovely day and hoping everyone is enjoying the new amazing simulator. My simulator crashes every time both in the menus and also in flying sessions. This has happened every time and i have not being able to complete a single flight as a result of this let alone more than one touch and go. I have also installed the latest drivers for my graphics card and closely monitored the simulators performance for both my hardware and the simulator. On high settings preset, flying around London, I was getting around 50fps consistently. Temperatures on the CPU remained between 60C and 70C and the GPU running at about 75% to 80% with temps at 70C to 85…

Hi all, I've been importing .pln files from SimBrief and I've found that, when selecting a parking position rather than the default runway in the in-sim flight planner, it decides to forget all about the SimBrief route and do it's own thing. Several very bright people opened my eyes this morning as to why my computer was running MSFS2020 so horribly. If your mid-to-high-end system is nonetheless stuttering and has wildly fluctuating FPS in the new sim, please read the solution that worked for me. It has nothing to do with tweaking the settings within the sim itself. I had already tried everything there was to try, and nothing worked. I could not fly any of the airliners at any of the custom airports without my FPS going down to essentially zero (0). I dont own the sim yet but having spent hours watching YT vids and reading these forums I was just wondering about something. Its almost like MS created this amazing virtual Earth first and then having realized its potential they stuck a flight sim onto it. Would that go some way towards explaining some of the bugs/missing features that I see other simmers mention in numerous threads? Which lead me to my other train of thought. If there was no such thing as Bing or any other satellite photo database online would we still have seen a new sim from Microsoft? I had no problems downloading at all...took about four hours and was up and flying at 5am for my first flight. No crashing or stuttering...getting about 60 fps at ultra max settings (recommend for my system during the setup) One would expect as much since Steams whole business is digital distribution ie downloading games. I also have aerofly fs2 and DCS on steam and have never had any issues either...set it and forget it.

I decided to try out the DA40 for the first time and chose a route from Telluride (TEX) to Aspen Pitkin County Airport (ASE). Well, soon after takeoff I realised the DA40 is not the best choice for the mountainous territory but soldiered on. Slowly I gained altitude so I could skim through the passes and enjoyed the very realistic turbulence along the way. I'm assuming the plane felt under powered because of the altitude. I am slowly getting the hang of the layout of MSFS 2020 files - where models go, how third party repaints are identified and I am even understanding the confusing methods ASOBO appear to be using to apparently make life harder for third party developers and painters. Although while I was searching and browsing I couldn't find the aircraft model files (i.e. the Baron model is called Beech_Baron_58.mdl). Besides, in FSX the .mdl files are all huge in the order of multiple megabytes. A spot of Googling then led me to the fact that MSFS 2020 now uses .gltf files. After the disappointing London scenery I bought KOS today. Eventhough it´s a very small airport it cuts my framerates in half. Reinstalled it twice to be sure it´s the add-on. Now I ended up unstalling it for good because it only causes trouble. Dear ORBX team, please do some testing before you publish a new product. This makes no sense and ruines your good reputation. I won´t be buying any more add-ons, because I have the feeling that developers aren´t using the proper techniques to make things look good and work in FS 2020, yet.

Today I experienced a flight that might not have been completely realistic, but was truly special. To try and explore SIDs/STARs and autopilot functionality in MSFS, I have been flying some Topa Sky flights in New Zealand. The scenery and topography in this sim is pretty amazing as it is, but I wasn't prepared for the sheer unexpected brilliance of an unplanned moment flying from Milford Sound to Manapouri today. This is something I'll report in the Microsoft FS2020 forums. Two glaring bugs that need to be addressed: 1. When climbing past 35,000ft if you turn on the wind indicator on the PFD the sim crashes 2. Jumping to a way point in flight voids all your autopilot settings meaning it's like your back on the ground but in the air. Let me know what you guys find.

Since getting the new sim I have flown several times without any problems. Now all of a sudden when I go to fly, the planes takeoff by themselves and fly without any input from my controls. In fact, the controls depicted on screen don't move. Don't know what I may have changed that is causing this. All planes are doing this and I can't control them. Any suggestions on what is happening? I've just bound keys to these and 45L gives me a 7:30 o'clock view, and 120L gives me a 10:30 view. I thought it should be the other way round. 45R/120R work as expected. Just checking whether anyone else is getting this.
