Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I bought a VKB Gladiator MK.2 a week ago in preparation for MSFS which is basically my first joystick ever. MSFS doesn't recognize it but I've slowly figured out how to assign all the buttons I need to it however when actually trying to fly it seems like the sensitivity curve/dead zone is all out of wack and I can't figure out if it's calibrated wrong or if MSFS is having trouble with it. It seems as if I cannot make any small adjustments and there's seemingly a huge dead zone but maybe I'm going crazy. I've attempted to try different sensitivity curves in game and tried re calibrating with VKB's tool but haven't quite found a solution. I'm really new to this so it's …

Hello, Been fiddling some with the developer mode in MSFS, and I had the idea to add some of the missing buildings to my hometown. I can make them in Sketchup but is it possible to import those into the MSFS assets ?

FSTramp.com I understand there a couple of issues but nothing sounds major. I'm installing it now.

So for the people that have been able to play the game, how is everyone's FPS so far? And what CPU, graphics card, amount of RAM, resolution, and settings (medium/high/ultra) are you using to achieve your performance/FPS?

Did anyone else’s install get stuck on this for a long time? I have currently downloaded 91.48gb of 95.15 but it hasn’t moved for half an hour and is decompressing 0 up to 28 fspackage. normal?

I don't have a choice for Real-Time Traffic. My Choice is AI Offline or Off. This is under Aircraft Traffic Type. Thanks, Robert McDuff

I currently have the Gamepass version of MSFS (which is the standard version) but I've seen enough to make up my mind to upgrade to Premium Deluxe. Has anyone tried this, and what is the best way to do it (and avoid having to redownload the entire thing)? The upgrades in the ingame marketplace don't work because it's not the "full" standard version at the moment.

I haven't yet found a way to set the cruising altitude for a flight plan. I can make the plan fine (and it works very well), but how do I set the cruising altitude. Yesterday I let the copilot fly and he magically already knew to go to 8400 feet ... I'd like to know how "he" figured that out! 🙂 Doug

hi everybody, with the R key and then crtl and num + or - we can adjust the time rate. but how can we view it? so we will know in what time rate we are in every moment? also i can't find a way to watch the frame rate inside the sim. i use afterburner to do it externally but i don't trust it 100%. thank you

My internet went out a few days ago and the sim couldn’t get to the main menu, which meant I couldn’t enable offline mode. It just sat at the loading screen with the TBM. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Not sure if it’s intended behaviour that you need a connection to access the menu or if it’s a bug that needs reporting. I’m running the Steam edition.

Is anyone else getting the wheels welded to the ground thing with the Diamond DA62? I have to apply full throttle just to get it moving, then it still requires quite a bit of throttle to keep it moving. If the ground is even slightly uphill it won't move even at full throttle. Take off roll seems to long as well. My brakes on my rudders show calibration in the controls section is fine, and other aircraft are mostly OK. Some require way to much throttle as well, but nothing like this.

I cannot find a way to move the cabin view of the wing to see the entire wing. I did see that someone on youtube was able to do this. Anybody have ideas? Tried Xbox controller etc Only shows small part of engine on wing

I know, sloped runways can be built in XP and P3D V5, but for someone like me, who transitioned from P3D V4, this feature is yet another big improvement. Especially if you sit low on the runway in one of the GAs, it's a very different sight compared to what I'm used to. I love it and I'm also very happy with the new sim as a whole.

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to control my throttle using the manual setup. It seems my options are either full throttle or no throttle. Either I"m looking in the wrong area or I'm not setting it up properly. Any suggestions on how to control your throttle power?

Hi All. Is anybody else having issues when taxing? I have to apply a lot of power just to get moving, then the plane wants to go way to fast. Then if you slow to much, it stops and you have to use lots of throttle again. Also on landing you need a lot of brake to slow it down.

Hello I have already flown a couple time, now today I cant get pass "Press Any Key" screen. Did anyone else have this problem? David

I noticed that pushing anisotropic filtering mostly don't affect performances, so it can be pushed to 16X. Better images for very low price 🙂

I have tried 4 different aircraft and i can not get the GPS to activate flight plan or even have the aircraft follow said flight plan. Anybody else?

There are tons and tons of threads about the visuals (FPS, 4K, render scaling and the likes) but I cannot find much information about sound. I devoted as much money and time to sound than picture quality when building my home theater system, yet never in the past paid much attention to that dimension when simming. I currently have two small low quality Logitech speakers sitting on each side of the screen and a subwoofer under the desk, and that's it. So let's start with a basic question: how is the surround sound in MSFS2020? Or is not that relevant in a flight sim context (there's not much "peripheral action" like in a movie)? And second: what is your sound set…

Seems like my GPU is the bottleneck in my system. I have done a few tests, I have tested the Ultra preset and I get about 10-15 fps in busy cities, but then going back into my settings to dial a few settings down to high I average around 25fps. But wow, it looks absolutely incredible with the ultra preset in 4K!

Can I find airports, runways and navigation beacons information in flight? In previous MSFS versions this info was displayed on the map.

How can I record my flight and see replay, as was possible at previous MSFS versions?
