Just started out with MSFS 2020 and have a question. Is it normal behavior when the mouse pointer is on 2nd monitor that input from flight controls is not recognized ?. Thanks.

Does anyone know why when flying with a friend in a group flight, his Registration is blacked out for me , and me for him? where it should be is an ugly black box... very odd. ! Bill P

Hi all Now that I am comfortable with the new sim I did my first nav in Australia out of Archerfield to yarrabilba, Beaudesert then back to Archerfield. Did a lot of sightseeing along the way and it's without a doubt the most authentic flight I have ever had on a flight Sim flying the default c172 I was able to nav in an area I was not overly familiar with and dead reckon using my VTC for that area, fixing position using roads, towns, train lines etc whilst hand flying the c172, fairly windy at times and felt like a real flight having to dedicate time to handling the aircraft whilst doing your other tasks, lots of other traffic and other players in …

Hello. To whomever maps the Airfields. An item for your 'To do' list. Could you put at least one parking ramp at EVERY airfield, whatever the size. I do not have a groundcrew who start and line up the airplane ready for me to jump in and fly. Would be nice tho'.

I am loving this sim! I thought I was a pretty good pilot in FSX, apparently not that good! I was just completing leg 2 of my round the world flight in the Beechcraft Bonanza G36. As I started getting established on the localiser I decided to slow early and lower 1st knotch of flaps to ease the workflow before things got busy. (I'm still learning the functions of the G100 etc and wanted to be ahead of the curve.) I lost a little bit of focus when somehow I lost the ILS on runway 30(ish) and ended up near stall speed. I was frustrated to find that taxiway names are not accurate to their real world counterparts despite them being so in every other major sim release in the last many years. But I was somewhat okay with that considering we were given access to the SDK. Upon trying to utilize the SDK, I realized that if you open the scenery editor, all default airport sceneries disappear entirely. I cannot find a way to modify what already exists. That’s a BUMMER for people who want to simply edit sign placement or taxiway names for their airports. There’s currently no easy way to go about doing it. hey guys sorry for noob question but when i try to climb out (C172 or Bonanaza) i can barely reach my cruise altitude (FL140). For example now in bonanza with 40% fuel I'm stuck at 10000 cant climb any further. My speed is 130 as recommended in real checklist and I adjusted RPM to 96% and mixture to 40%. Any tips? is this real or bug? also if i stop climb at FL100 I can;t even accelerate anymore.

The G1000 in other planes is cumbersome and difficult to use and work with..especially with no keyboard binding and trackir. the G3000 in the TBM is awesome. Easy to do stuff on the fly, direct tos, waypoint adds, etc, etc...wish they would put out some GTN750 stuff!!

Can you please start a flight. Go on the tool bar in the top, click on the gear and disable VFR maps. Please let me if you gains some frames by doing that. I am reporting some gains doing that myself. I am not sure if this anecdotal or real. Please report on this thread. If this is the case , it is something we should report to Asobo.

I am brand new to FS2020, but how could I have come upon a bug already? This is the Cessna 172, sitting at the end of the runway. I apply full power and release brakes. Nothing happens. Airplane doesn't move. But the airspeed needle slowly rises up to 100 knots as if the airplane is flying. If I apply the parking brakes, the airspeed drops back to zero. But the airplane has not moved a single inch all this time. I would attach a screenshot, but it doesn't seem this forum allows it. What could be happening here?

I finally figured out why FS2020 had an odd feel to it when taking off and landing. The panel has a 2D-ish feel to it, even though the world outside looks 3D. The panel feel like it is pointed in a different direction than the aircraft. Not sure if I like the feel of it. They seem to have put a lot of work into the world, but not much into the airplane.

If I compare default planes from FSX to default planes in MSFS2020, I have to say that FSX wins it. I do not feel like I am flying a simulator, but rather playing a game like GTA V. The sensitivity / reactions of the planes in MSFS2020 are absolutely horrible and make it unplayable on simulation-basis-level. This is for gamers, because gamers do not care and do not even know how the plane should be behaving. Yes, the scenery is wonderful. If I want to explore and enjoy the world, I choose MSFS2020, but if I want to enjoy operating aircraft, I will prefer FSX for now.

In the interest of a more immersive experience, I've got a smaller second display, below my main display (atop my Honeycomb) - a 12" 1080p touch screen. I though it might be a perfect addition to my cockpit. I was hoping my touch screen would allow me to interact with the ATC menu... it does not. It appears that the touch panel is seen as an unsupported controller by MSFS and is not functional. So the only other option is to use the mouse or keyboard to select options on the 2nd monitor pop-out - but as soon as you move focus to the 2nd screen, ALL CONTROLS go dead on the main screen which can disrupt your taxi or flight. Any thoughts on a solution to this…

I've been learning the Garmin system on the Cessna 208. Looking at the Flight Director, I can get it to respond to altitude settings, but not heading settings. is that a known problem in MSFS 2020?

Its just dawned on me I'm not seeing any air traffic in the sim. I have Air traffic set to LIVE - the tool tips says "this is based on live data" so I would expect quite a bit parked up at EGLL for example but zilch, I have made sure all the traffic settings are on the Options menus I have tried turning on multiplayer (hoping to see real people flying about) but not seen any, I put this down to "maybe other people aren't flying where I am" - mainly UK. Have I missed a potential setting or is this broke?
