Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

My internet is capable of 11 mb/s (not bits, but bytes). Yet, flying over the mountains in PNG looking at very drab, lowres scenery that keeps popping in, I notice that MSFS is only dipping its toes in the water when it comes to downloading stuff as I go: Why isn't it putting the pedal to the metal and getting the job done quickly? I have set no bandwith limitation, so in theory it should download at near 100% of my bandwith and I would get much prettier scenery as I'm flying. I had to disable the rolling cache because it kept giving me stutter episodes of 10-20 seconds from time to time which I absolutely hate.

Yesterday, Vsync and Frame Rate limiter wasn't working right (as others have also stated). This afternoon when I tried it, it seemed to be working perfectly. I was under the impression that we weren't getting an update until the 27th, but seems like I got a fix today. Anyone know ?

This game is definitely like No Mans Sky.. It was to ambitious and when they release it was a complete mess.. Some features they said the game have like multiplayer wasn’t working not even a si le in the game.. All planets where the same the algorithm for the fauna was nuts.. In conclusion was almost like a scam.. But after 3 years of its release it’s making one of the best come backs in gaming history.. Updating from time to time and improving the game and all of this for free.. What I want to say is if Asobo really cares about this game and with the support of Microsoft they could definitely improve the sim a lot in no time, and even better features…

I spent several hours testing and watching various air traffic parameters at KATL (considered to be one of the busiest airports in the world) at night so it would easier to see via their flashing strobe lights, etc. Had tags turned on, multiplayer off. 1) First test: Real Time traffic with Flight Aware open on another PC. It appears real traffic is streamed but sporadically at best. KATL in real life has planes arriving and departing every minute or few minutes, and maybe 1 in 10 of the flights were showing up in the sim, if that. Hi, just a quick question. I found myself flying with full mixture in turboprops. But is this correct? In other planes, I use mixture and watch for best fuel-flow.

Not sure if anyone else knows you can start from any location by doing this: On the world map, there is a search field to the upper left side of the world view. Now, for example, if you want to take a look at Warwick Castle in the UK, go to Google and type in "Warwick Castle latitude and longitude", or get the coordinates from Google Maps, then type them into the search bar, but in this format: N52.2797, W1.5852. You will then get a custom marker for that location to set as departure. (Speaking of castles, wouldn't it be nice to have these historic locations modelled? I can imagine this as an add-on pack.)

the ingame marketplace dosent work, if i choose buy, it just says pending... any body know hvy, and what to do!

as you know the satellite captures can be different colors/contrast etc.. do they optimizing the colors to be represented better in sim ? If you notice flying from long Island NY north the satellite image becomes green compared to the surrounding brown.

How come some of them have checklists just up until after engine start and some have very comprehensive checklist right till after shutdown ? Would be nice to have the complete checklists for all of the default aircraft. Otherwise have to download them to a separate pad for each aicraft and do them manually. Kind of annoying that some default aircraft dont have the complete checklists.

This worked for me and several others on this forum, worth a try… 1) Set TV / Monitor to 30hz Win 10 -> Settings -> Display -> Advanced Display Setting -> Display Adapter Properties If the above does not allow for 30hz, then try ½ refresh rate (if you are at 60hz) in the Nvidia CP / Inspector for the MSFS profile (or global). 2) Set MSFS to Vsync 3) Set MSFS frame limit to 60 (not 30, but 60) Again, the above steps have worked for several others... Also, I do have vsync set to "force on" in Nvidia Inspector (MSFS profile), but I am not sure if to matters.

Just flew from ESSA to ESSB in the Caravan, a nice and short morning trip, and in the distance, at the horizon, (I used live weather) I could see small greenish/blue "lines" just between the ground and the clouds base level in distance... What is that? I would have taken a picture, but not sure how to do that, sorry... any ideas what those "lines" are?

Hi , Ik saved a flight plan in MSFS2020 and when loading it gave me the option to load a '.pln' and a '.flt' version. Bit confused here, what is the difference and which one should you load? Also, once created a flight plan in the planner, is there no way to change the crz altitude once the flight has started? I adjusted the crz altitude in the flight computer of the Airbus prior takeoff but ATC keeps working with the cry altitude from the original planning? Guess it does not look at what's in the flight computer and that the only way to fix it is requesting a new crz altitude during the flight itself?

I hope this isn't seen as redundant or overly self-indulgent, but I felt a need to actually make a positive comment. It's the nature of the internet that negative voices tend to dominate topics like this because the people who are content don't feel the need to make a lot of fuss and noise. MSFS is a massive project, with literal decades of history behind it, and comes with a lot of anticipation and sky-high expectations. I mean, isn't the purpose of bush trips to fly low and identify the landmarks described in the nav log? I try hard, but in the end I always yield to the temptation of following that dam purple arrow.

...sadly no discount on Orbx central for previous owners. Having flown in and out of this airport dozens of times in reality, I can safely say it is one of the worst in the developed world - chaotic, crowded, and (unforgivably) without a bar. Unlike the XP version I think this lacks additional scenery for the area - although there's some odd looking autogen around the airport. Not yet on the marketplace - just Orbx Central so far.

Every time I fly, i discover something new. Now i find myself exploring the Indian countryside which as been depicted with great accuracy. I could never do this before even with global and vector installed in p3d. xplane does not model India properly at all. Even small generic airports are so lifelike. The buildings look India specific and for the first time i could make a distinction between New Delhi and Old Delhi. The vegetation also seems to be region specific. No, i cannot find my house as it is not modeled to that degree, but it is so close! I dont mind the default GA aircraft. They are beautiful to look at and fly well(non pilot here). I have gotten a lot of friend requests lately, and I thought this was just one of those requests. I am in the middle of a flight using Onair, and after accepting what I thought was a friendsrequest, I lost the ability to change time and weather. The time was moved for me, and onair tries to reconnect and set the time as it was, but it instantly changes back to live mode. What exactly did I accept?

Is there a flyby view in 2020? I’m very impressed with FS2020 and after some struggling got the views set up to my liking. However, the one view I cannot find is the Flyby, which is standard in almost every other sim and one of my favourites. I’m looking for that one keypress, not a convoluted way of re-positioning, fiddling and saving drone views.

Hello boys, I have an ok pc with a i7 7700k (HT on, no OC), rx 480 8gb and 16gb ram. No matter what settings I have, even every slider to the left, I get a constant stutter every couuple seconds for one second or so. It makes it really hard to enjoy the sim. I have tried everything I can think of , updated drivers, turned off all online settings and rolling cache , no vsync, game mode on/off, making a manual cache and flying in that region etc I'm on the latest windows and drivers. Been looking at the files, and noticed that some aircraft (Like the Cirrus Sr22 for example) do not have an an aircraft.cfg or more importantly a flightmodel.cfg. The C152 has both of these (and more) and is really tweakable... where is the cirrus flight model stored then if not in the same folder..just wanted to do a few tweaks on the flight model to more accurately match the behaviour of the Cirrus Sr22 I used to own and fly or is it the GENERIC single prop model (which would be odd as the Sr22 is FAR from a generic single prop in performance ! ) are they missing or just invisible, and if so why some planes and not others? thanks ! …

I have seen pictures from both ORBX and Gaya Sim, while they certainly look impressive I wonder if they make use of all new scenery tech in MSFS, such as undulating runways? Best regards

I can not figure out why the ATC doesnt have any sounds This is what I checked so far - I have the English (US) language and speach packs installed - I have AZURE selected on Options > Sound > Text to speech. I also tried with Windows OFFLINE, but no luck. Thanks for any advice.

Has anyone figured out how to attach a Logitech G13 Game Controller profile to FlightSimulator.exe. The App is protected you cannot select it when setting up the profile.
