Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi, I'm using a Logitech Yoke/Throttle combo and checking the options it shows up as a 'flight yoke system' . A picture of the Logitech yoke is shown with numbers for the controls, but nothing for the throttle. The throttle seems to work though. Should it really show up as a Logitech yoke settings or is it possible to load a Logitech profile or anything like that?

This coming Tuesday we have a pair of tropical storms that may strengthen into hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico. Who wants to fly in formation with me and my Aviat Pitts Special S2S into the eye? So it happened. I just deleted X-Plane. I wasn't going to, but I just had a moment flying over New Haven, CT. I'm sure there are a few of you out there who worked a lot to create your own custom scenery in X-Plane. I toiled for months to create as close a facsimile as I could of the city and surrounding countryside using custom orthos, a few hand built 3d models, and a lot of work with World2Xplane using a heavily modified config file a bunch of custom facade textures to do things like properly identify and portray Yale buildings, grocery stores, properly labeled big box stores (like Home Depot, Best Buy, Whole Foods), blah, blah. After a few days of tinkering I’m getting there in having my home cockpit function in FS2020. Still no side windows (those screens are out of frame here), but thanks to being able to pop-out the PFD and MFD I was able to drag those over to other screens (an iPad via Duet and the RealSimGear 530 screen). The Yoko yokes and Saitek rudders work fine, as does the Saitek trim wheel, and I was able to bind the hat switch on the yoke to custom camera views that make up (poorly) for the lack of side windows (being able to look over each wing, 45 degrees behind, etc.). All those Saitek FIPs work via SPAD.next but the current simconnect problems (as documented elsewhere) kill frame…

All three multiplayer options are grayed out in the flight conditions window, and I can't find any other place to enable. Weather and time are all set to live and profile is shown as signed in. Sorry if this has already been discussed but search doesn't seem to be working right now.

Hi all. How do I align the altimeter setting? My altimeter are not showing the same value as the one I set in the autopilot. This happens when I set correct altimeter from weather changes.

Im missing something cause all kinds saying they love this plane, Cannot engage AP either manually or using shortcuts/buttons Suggestions?

A word to the wise. As streaming real world date from Azure is a must you need a hard line cable connection into your PC versus Wifi. I wish I knew this when first downloading FS2020 it would have been much faster. I didn't realize how but better the scenery looked until I Cached my hope area and was amazed. I tried plugging directly into my modem and many areas looked that much better because streaming didn't fully fill in the scenery under Wifi. Wifi can be up and down throughout the day and that affects how FS2020 performs and looks. Do yourself a favor and get off of WiFi when using FS2020.

does anyone else have this problem i can't install the premium deluxe version as it says flight simulator premium deluxe does not work on this device please help.

Not sure whether this has already been reported, but the C172 G1000 is capable of LPV landings, albeit with some strange Glideslope Indicator behavior. I flew into CYCD RNAV 16 via the HADER iaf and saw the GS indicator appear, early and pegged at the bottom. On final, the GS indicator started to rise and I simply pushed APR on the autopilot, to see what would happen. It actually captured the glidepath and guided me down to the runway, not without complaining when I dropped some flaps.. The GS indicator clearly is not behaving correctly, but I hope this will be fixed. So... buggy, but maybe this will end up OK.. Not sure if it is worth reporting …

Folks, probably like you, after a couple of days getting use to MSFS...setting it up to your own very personal permutations...and are past the stumble stutter of getting things just so right for you... Is it possible to move around in the aircraft and adjust and save a wingview of your choice? All I can find is the preconfigured wingview which is quite good looking but perspective is a bit off. Also, I would like to move the camera when seated, it is locked

Decided to try out MSFS on my old i7-6700k (no overclock) with GTX 1660ti and 32gb memory before dropping big bucks on a new system that had a $1,600 video card in it. MSFS is running smooth as butter on it at 1920x1200 with all high settings. Have a 50gb rolling cache on a non-ssd hdd. With vsync on and set to 30fps my CPU is staying at 30-40%, GPU at 40-50%. With vsync off (or on and set to 60fps) CPU is at about 50% and GPU at 80%. Some day I will get one of those high dollar PCs, perhaps when there are AI addons etc. that need it, but for now the scenery at my settings is so far and above what I am used to looking at in FSX, even in ORBX areas, that I feel no nee…

I'm interested in trying out the King Air. What a beast. It's so hard just to keep the speeds down and the RPMs in check. However, during a flight from Tampa to Palm Beach (beautiful sunrise) I couldn't look outside for more than a few seconds as I had to fly manually with continual drift due to not being able to engage the AP. I'd hit the button, get a yellow caution light and then it would instantly disengage. What am I missing? Thanks!

One of the biggest points of contention in the alpha was the night-lighting. There are several points to discuss her, including the fact that the lighting changed from TA1 to the subsquent alphas. You guys all saw that as the updates came and pictures were released of the different versions. A lot of people liked the earlier lighting. I disagree that was it was clearly superior. It was cartoonishly, overly bright and lacked variety. It looked almost exactly like XP11's lighting. While that may be pleasing to the eye and what many are used to, it wasn't realistic at all. Hi Everyone Apologies if this the wrong place to post this First of all I want to say that I am loving the heck out of FS2020 All running good on my computer with no issues. How can I download and save FS2020 to – let’s say E:\FS2020. I don’t want it on my C-drive.

Has anyone managed to figure out how to improve performance while close to/on the ground? On my system it seems that when I'm at least 1500ft AGL the performance is satisfactory however it will always struggle and stutter if I'm below that. This is especially the case in cities.

I have to admit flying the King Air over the Grand Canyon or Canyon Lands Utah to the TBM for a hop to say Aspen to Jackson Hole or just about every other over looked out the way place I never visited before. This sim is amazing in that regard. The default airports look just right within reason for what they are. With people waiting at stand to vehicles move about the airport this is amazing. With the business jets I just go to the smaller fields for any city I want to visit. Going to Orlando for example I just do what the VIP's do and land at KISM versus KMCO.
