Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Would be nice for immersion to implement the feature with fsx and p3d always had. If I set the weight and balance to only have 1 passenger, I would like to only see one passenger etc... seems like we have pilot and copilot regardless of payload settings. granted, probs not worthy to have at the top of your list of things to fix/implement, but would be a nice bit of extra immersion.

There’s no way I can describe what this feels like now . I took the TBM out of KTPA for a spin down to Miami , a flight that I had done in the real airplane a fair amount of times and without extending this post I for the first time felt the realism of the overall experience the night lighting created a feeling just after takeoff that’s unique and felt a million times more realistic than ever . I’m going to blow more money to make sure this runs better than anything...... happy flying .....

Can someone look in your camera bindings for your mouse and tell me what the right mouse click is bound too. In trying to get this sim to work for me I've deleted 99% of my bindings and starting over. I can't remember what right mouse click is bound to, camera translate something. Thanks!

is there anyway to turn down the screens especially when flying in darkness...they seem really bright??? Thanks Regards Paul EGCC

When I select rain as the weather theme, it is cloudy but does not actually rain. Does this mean it is dynamic and changeable and occurs randomly (and I just have to wait) or is it a bug? Can you see raindrops in water? Thanks!

What I absolutely love is the fact that you can adjust snow depth, cm by cm. I find the resulting changes in snow coverage extremely convincing, especially in mountainous areas, where you find snow only in areas without trees and a few patches between the trees here and there but as you increase depth, it starts to become more visible in the places you expect it. Large sweeping mountainous terrain like the Canadian Rockies look so realistic this way, it is breathtaking!

Looking at the nice new Moscow landmarks package, it came to my mind that the haters on both sides had it all wrong : - those who were dissing the third party developers rejoicing that the new sim would be the end of them - those who said that the new sim would not allow for third party products, technically or because MS wanted to kill them. All is good, haters lost. They always do.

27 knot xwind in c152 with a gusty layer above into a small strip, was insane haven't experienced any think like it in a Sim, had to fight the control, especially on take off didn't have enough into wind aileron and it lifted that wing and did what it would do in real life

I can spawn the Icon A5 at a particular point, either with GPS coordinates or simply clicking in a body of water, but it always starts in the air. Is there any way to spawn it on the water surface?

Firstly, not a complaint..... Don't know about you guys, but I kind of miss having a list of airports to scroll through and being able to sort through them differently like in P3d, FSX, etc. Just curious if there is a complete list of the airports that are in MSFS. Not just for reference, but I'm curious to see certain airports that are new to the sim. I figure maybe LittleNavMap will update to MSFS, but is there any way to reference in the meantime?

I've been noticing a strange performance issue in that as soon as touching down upon landing, I get a brief but very noticable lag spike. I may be averaging 35 FPS throughout the approach, but dip into the 20s as soon I touchdown. Anyone else noticing this?

Hey guys, So I am playing with system as I installed some new fancy upgrade (64gb ram DDR-3000) and tweaking my OC settings etc etc. I knew I was going to test out the restore feature back doing a backup of MSFS app install location with new clean windows build. Now during my upgrading hardware/tweaking some settings here and there - Windows crashed few times. I did get the windows stable with stable OC at 4.4ghz. Now the Windows store is not running the game at all. This IS EXACTLY what I have been talking about especially down the road if tons of addons are inside etc. We will probably have to whack the sim and reinstall it. Win…

Hi Devs for MSFS Addon Products. I just observed on how Orbx did their addon installs to the sim. I am very grateful that their products are installed outside the sim and all of it does get symlinked to their MSFS directory. It is super easy to symlink directories. See Screenshot Reason is this. This sim is a 100GB Download and it will get larger. If something breaks, and your addon is in the sim root etc and things break. More headaches could happen if one has to download 100Gb+ worth of data all over again. Right now everything is new for all of us; everyone is learning with the new sim. Not flying with MSFS yet while new system is still in the build hangar. Question. Does the MSFS logbook have the functions to integrate or import the logbooks from previous FS versions?

Does anyone know the keyboard command for "walking" inside your airplane? I can only find the zoom keys.

Basically, it's FSX tech - CPU bottlenecked, bad GPU usage, wildly varying loads depending on plane. Asobos descision to go with DX11, what a fail. Up to 74% FPS loss by plane - good night PMDG.

Hey, Does MSFS2020 even consume tons of ram at all? Or it is all about the streaming data. I just upgraded my pc to whopping 64GB Ram and running MSFS2020 in 4K barely consumed ram. The whole system was utilizing 11gb of ram. Interesting observation don't you think? My bet 32GB of Ram is overkill for the sim and even my 64GB is just super overkill lol. Later

Have I missed something? I remember seeing a video of snow on top of some summer scenery, but I don't recall seeing any autumn scenery or barren winter scenery. Hopefully we'll see something during beta.

I decided to take the MSFS flight lessons as a way to familiarize myself with the simulator (I am transitioning from X-Plane). The lessons are very well done, but the closed pattern lesson was very strange. It is a left pattern out of the KSEZ Airport. The instructor tells you to make a left turn to 120 degrees once you reach a certain altitude, which makes perfect sense. However, the arrow on the screen points to the right and not left. I turned left and the simulator never recognized that I was making the crosswind leg. I did the whole pattern but once I landed the instructor said I failed the lesson. I tried again. Dear all, I'm kind of new to this forum. I think I joined long time ago but due to work got too busy so I didn't continue with FS until recently MSFS 2020 just came out, which got me really excited. So I'm planning to build a complete new PC system that would have the top-notch PC hardware everything in order to have the best frame rate possible running MSFS 2020. At the same time, I have an old and faithful Dell XPS 8500LE (CPU: Intel Core i7-3770) which I'm hoping that I can still "upgrade" it to some level, so that it can at least run MSFS 2020 to some level. I understand this is an issue pertaining to Microsoft restrictions and accessing files. Does anyone here know how I can get that restriction removed so that I can point my anti-virus program to the FS2020.exe and exclude it? Much appreciated.

As some are using an x-box controller for the drone camera (showcase), it occurred to me that in addition to using a H.O.T.A.S. I might be able to plug in an old Logitech Pro 3D joystick to use for the drone camera. I will experiment with this but thought I would ask if anyone has done this already. In the meantime I will have a go and report back.

Is there a way to switch between between windowed mode and full screen with a keystroke or hot key assignment? IIRC, FAX, P3D and X-Plane I could use a key (I think ALT) to switch modes. I miss this! Can it be done in MSFS?
