Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

After two days and following Squirrel's videos I am experiencing an initial couple of issues! The main one is when in-flight and I press "insert" to get an external view, but the different aircraft I have used so far cannot be controlled, like is possible in the cockpit. The aircraft has a mind of its own and it rockets skywards or plummets towards earth and I return to the cockpit to gain control! What is causing this? Another issue is the 747, using my warthog throttle/joystick for buttons are not responding but it does for axis. I have created profiles for the default, props and 4 engine jets. On 4 engines, I can't seem to reverse thrust! Thanks …

While you're on a long flight in the A 320 or one of the Boeings drop a drone camera down to the surface and view/walk the land you are flying over. If you tilt your head up, you can even see your plane way up there in the sky...

I don't know what the deal is, but I have absolutely no in-game UI. No checklists, no ATC panel, no clickable "plane" icon on the top of the screen. Even if I click one of the keybindings, like "V" for the sectional chart, nothing appears. I've even set "Show map at start" & "ATC panel at start", yet there is nothing showing up. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I can't imagine I'm the only one with this problem. Much appreciated!

Disable "Low latency mode" in nVidia control panel (and Radeon Anti-Lag for AMD I think). This setting helps a lot CPU intensive games (not necessarily CPU limited) with the only drawback of increased input lag, which in FS is not important.

Anyone have an experience of going from 16GB to 32GB of RAM and the difference, if any, it made to the simulator? It's decision time, a tricky one as I'll be looking at an all new PC within 9 months.

Hi Been looking at getting FS2020 and have noticed there are 3 region versions available for Windows 10 PC. (UK, Worldwide/Global and US) I was just wondering if anyone knew if there were any specific differences in these region versions? If for instance, as I'm UK based, I bought the UK version, does this mean I can only connect to UK servers? If this is the case, does it/would it matter? The Worldwide version is compatible with and can be activated in the UK but I'm not sure why the UK version would then be available? Is it a FS2020 server thing or is it related perhaps to the Windows 10 version/region you're using perhaps? Anyone know? Any help…

Managed to have ATC sound on release day but after that just quiet, not even static. I have tried to change from the sound menu the ATC from Azure to offline, but still no sound. It worked for abit on the first two days after release but now nothing. Its kind of annoying not to have ATC bark commands even if you are just VFR flying. Please get your **** together Asobo ! I am not buying a full price for a product that is still clearly in beta stage.

Does anyone have an insight into the likelihood of an instant replay function? Its always good to know "where did it all go wrong!" or review some complex manoevre from outside the cockpit after being heads in.

..that I guess on my older system and my GL1070...I'm not doing too badly in FPS (27-32 FPS) for cranking this sim up...a pretty good vid of what's what...GPU wise..

I turn the Landing Guides ON, but have never seen them. I go back into the Options to check that they are saved, and it shows them as ON. I have seen them on YouTube Videos so know they exist, but not for me! Am I doing something wrong! Alan

I am enjoying MSFS with GA flying over some of the spectacular scenery in this world. However, if we EVER needed a helicopter...it is NOW! I really want to explore some of this scenery very low and very slow. I'm sure it could prove to be quite an experience. I would like to land at an airport somewhere in this world, get out of my plane, and fire up a copter. I think this sim is a natural sim for helicopter flying. There's a lot to learn in this new sim, and I'm struggling with navigation. Watching these Asobo experts utilize the Garmin and the FMC is mind boggling to me. I already saw some people talking about this but its not working for me, no matter what it doesn't lock at 30fps's with the proper settings, works in any other game however... im i the only one?

I see many questions on this forum which have answers in the MS forum and specially in the guide section. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/guides/165 It is still an embryo of a co-op wiki of course but growing rapidly. I have been very critical of the FS site for a long time. It was very amateurish and really not up to snuff. But things have changed for the better since the launch, the forums are well-structured and should be of help for users or wannabe users.

Hello, I did my first IFR flight last night from KPHX to PHNL and I never received approach vectors from the controller. They instructed me to proceed direct to HNL and brought me right over the top of the airport at 7000 feet and that was the last vector I received. It has been like 5-7 years since I played, but I thought that in FSX they would vector your entire approach. Once they cleared me into the ILS Y 4R were they expecting me to fly the approach on my own navigation or do I not have something set up properly?

A simple question I know.........................but I read somewhere that the Windows key + G was what enabled the FPS reading...................but that does not work for me. What do I need to do to read my FPS? Thanks in advance.

Got an i7 2600k that is 10 years old, 16GB DDR3 ram and a GTX960. Had a smooth install, no issues, except that CH yoke is not recognized. I put global rendering to high, vsinc on and max fps to 30. In remote areas and small to medium towns, I get smooth performance (I am fine with 30fps), no stutters. Never expected this. Sim looks visually stunning on my low to medium end PC. Great job Asobo! UPDATE: even a dense photogrammetry place like Milano my modest PC seems to handle quite well, I think I am getting 20-25 fps in this region at global HIGH settings and scattered clouds.

How can I save a flight (situation) and how will I find this later?

Question In every sim it is possible to deactivate the cockpit tips, why is this not possible in this sim. Or am I just too stupid to find it. Because it's really annoying when you see what you are operating in the cockpit every time. I know what I am operating and don't have to be shown it every time.

I wanted to create a manual cache for Virginia to reduce scenery load times. No problem setting up the cache, but when I tried to paint the area to include there is no grid. Anyone have experience with this configuration step who might be able to help, or us this just a “bug?”

Sorry, bit self indulgent this but like a lot of people moving over to this from XP, I've spent a couple of days moaning about lack of this system and that system and this not being quite right and that being all wrong but... last night I was flying over scotland at 15000 feet, into some clouds, saw precipitation land on the window and freeze. When I turned windscreen heating on, it melted. It was such a little thing, but so beautifully rendered and detailed that it made me realise for the first time what the potential of this sim is. I'm now downloading fs-base-cgl-01.21 package 06 At an ultra slow download speed. It's almost like the download is frozen, but it isn't. My question is should there be more then one base package to download or am I downloading the same package over and over again? I have been downloading for over 30 hours so far. Need help. Arnold
