August 23, 20205 yr Although I do appreciate the effort, I will wait for the official liveries by Asobo. These don't sit well on the aircraft for some reason. Something to do with uv maps and stuff I assume. Default paint quality is so insanely good, it will be hard to match that. Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive

I respect those who find these paint jobs satisfactory for their needs - horses for courses, and your opinion is just as valuable as anyone else's. I also respect those who have gone to the effort of making some different liveries available so quickly. However, those who want high definition liveries and high quality paints also deserve respect for their preferences. As a painter, may I observe that It's not that hard to produce a low-resolution, basic quality paint job with the textures currently available, but it is actually accurate to observe (further up this thread) - they don't look great close up, there are feathered edges, and most have some poorly aligned features (and in the case of the A320 Lufthansa NC, Air New Zealand stabiliser, etc., just plain crappy alignment). The reasons for that are: 1. the development of textures for some of these aircraft was made without any thought given to future painters and how they would align textures 2. there is no decent paint kit which includes sufficient guidelines in the layers to make it straight forward to align textures accurately around doors, windows, wing roots, other aircraft parts, etc. 3. challenging placement of parts - eg two parts of the vertical stabilizers are in two completely different texture files - easy enough if the tail is a single colour, but otherwise extremely time-consuming and challenging to align 4. no one seems to have found a way to get rid of the original NEO surface bump textures on the rear fuselage and stabiliser yet, possibly because it doesn't appear to be separately mapped I understand that painting liveries was never the top priority of the software developers; they did one really nice one in the house colours - that's all. So we will have to be patient and wait for add-on aircraft that are mapped sensibly and have a well-planned high definition paint kit - or for someone to create one for the default aircraft. I'll be one of the first to try creating nice liveries for the default aircraft if such a paint kit becomes available, btw. Please don't flame me or anyone else for these observations - we are simply pointing out the facts.
