I appreciate the work these guys are doing to bring MSFS out of default mode with this megapack, But honest criticism here. Most of them look ghastly up close, feathered edges missing(painted with a Husqvarna chainsaw), Decals not aligned, low resolution decals. I`ll pass until some reputable painters come online!

Yup your right Rick - pretty scary - I looked at that files used to makeย paintsย -ย all set what a mess - way harder now to paint them correctly

The wayย the modeler mapped the panels didnt care about next guy who wanted to change textures - obviously wasnt on his priority list and its to late now as it needs to be mapped user friendly from the beginning - not good

Im a 3d modeler so I have a little knowledge about thisย

Ah but payware aircraft with a decent paint kit and texture mapped properlyย will be something to look forward to - then you will see quality repaintsย

It's all good, gives the community something to enjoy, Hopefully when you get your rig going Rich you can delve into it... lol I read @Ron Attwoodย asking where to find the template also in another thread, so we might see some default GA from the maestro ....ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Just what I thought read this

Photoshop is probably the best bet, but currently thereโ€™s no official paint kit from Asobo to make repainting liveries easy. It appears theyโ€™ve used a 3D software like Substance Painter to create the liveries and thatโ€™s why the .DDS files look so weird. Hopefully Asobo release a proper livery maker as part of the SDK or at least a paint kit soon!

Just an observation Richard, if it is so hard how come the guys could put out so many Liveries in the Mega kit so soon, they were out in a day or two, or have they been Alpha/Beta testers that have been working on them for months?

That figures why this megapack looks dreadful, Someone has stitched a template together. It`s a shame really Asobo hasn`t supplied the community with a proper SDk and paint kits on release....

Anton i think Rich was referring to photoshop painting with a proper template is hard, i know JT Textures by Tavers puts 100`s of hours into 1 aircraft.

Being done and being done right are two different things - some of them are not proper - hey kudos to these folksย investing Their personal time - its very time consuming - having a sub par paint kit is just to hardย to turn out pristine paints
