  1. I like this guys YT channel, documenting his experiences visiting grass farm strips. A while back he nearly hit trees. He's finally plucked up the courage to land there again.

...humansxalmost went extinct, Around 800,000 years ago, humans experienced a significant population bottleneck, potentially reducing their numbers to as few as 1,280 breeding individuals, according to a study published in Science. This event, which may have been triggered by a severe climate event, nearly led to the extinction of the human species. The bottleneck is thought to have occurred between 930,000 and 813,000 years ago, coinciding with…

Elon Musk yesterday is touting his brand new Grok 4 AI. But I'm using his commonly found Grok 3 AI. My question: Is it likely that alien spacecraft have visited Earth? Grok 3 reply: "The likelihood of alien spacecraft visiting Earth is low based on available evidence. No confirmed physical proof—like artifacts, wreckage, or verifiable sightings—exists. Most UFO/UAP reports are explained by natural phenomena, human technology, or optical illusions. For example, declassified U.S. military footage, like the 2020 Pentagon UAP videos, shows objects with unusual motion, but experts suggest these could be advanced drones, atmospheric effects, or camera artifa…

Prepare for naughty comments fron young Charles. 🫣 What I'm referring to is my feline overlord. As some of you know, we've recently moved house. He now has a nice garden and countryside to explore, not too many cars. The all knowing internet recommends two to three weeks to allow the cat to get used to the new place before letting them out. Well, we are now approaching three weeks and he’s very interested in the outdoors, tries to sneak out at every opportunity. So, how long have you kept your feline inside before letting them out? Is three weeks long enough? If he tries to get back to Guernsey it would be a 38 mile swim. 😺

  12. So seems like every few years this topic comes up, so curious where things stand in 2025. So, what video games are you playing? Console or PC? (I have a PS5 and for PC a RTX 5080 rig). I think we are in a golden age of gaming (hardware costs notwithstanding) as some really good titles. Right now I'm regularly playing the following: 1) Monster Hunter Wilds. I played Monster Hunter Wolds a ton and Wilds didn't disappoint. Easy to see why Capcom sold 10 million copies. Great eye candy, the fights are fun and good progression. Probably my only complaint is it is much easier than prior titles. I have a lvl 109 toon and I main the Hunting Horn. I usually play …

  13. My computer screen recently started going black at times. I believe the problem started two driver updates prior to the current update on 7/1/25. Sometimes it be fine for a couple of hours, sometimes it goes black after a few minutes, sometimes it's black at start up. I will also occasionally go black and then re-start the computer. The NVIDIA app is not working properly. It won't save settings and the Automatic Tuning option does not work. The voltage is stuck on 0%. HELP??? NVIDA GeForce RTX3070 Ti, Game Ready Driver 576.88 (7/1/25) 11th Gen i7-11700kf Up to date version of Windows 10 Thanks

  18. Here at the retirement home we have a social every Thursday afternoon. We have ice cream and coffee and about once a month live music. A guy with a keyboard comes in and plays music for us. I always ask some of the ladies to dance when we have the music and get in 8 or 10 dances over the hour and a half. One of the ladies, Mille, is just over 100 years old. She's still pretty spry and doesn't need a walker yet. I had considered asking her to dance at previous socials but always thought she might be too old. But this afternoon I asked her and she accepted and we danced through a number. When the music stopped and I escorted her back to her table we got a ni…

I'm surprised no one has talked about this yet. If you haven't seen it, you should, since you obviously have an interest in aviation. Overall, I enjoyed it, though a bit cringe-worthy and gimmicky at times. It also further proves that anyone can be a pilot if money is not a barrier.

Sadly, we had to put down one of our 18 yr old cats yesterday, Ms Molly. Her sister cat, Luna, is still going strong. Both cats have been excellent pets, they kept the three dogs in line. Ms Molly was also an excellent mouser, much needed in a 136 yr old Victorian home. The mice won't miss her! It's odd, but you can tell the house is missing a soul. May there be tuna flavored mice covered in catnip in kitty heaven😻
