Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. We allow some latitude, but please remember that, first and foremost, this is a flight-simulator oriented site frequented by people from all walks of life.

I'm a little surprised no one else has mentioned this, unless I missed it. Everyone is familiar with Apollo 13 and the consequences it suffered, but to me, Apollo 8 was one of the most important Apollo missions, second only to Apollo 11. Apollo 8 was the first manned spacecraft to leave the Earth's orbit/gravitational sphere and then eventually the first to orbit the moon. What a way to spend Christmas Eve!

Let's say you watch a youtube video. Maybe music or a drama. Turn on Youtube captions. If you see the word heat randomly come up from time to time in the captions, then aliens are controlling the text generation. But not to worry, as long as you don't see heat on Youtube captions, then all is well.

I was just reading a piece on facial recognition when it dawned on me how many different faces can you draw with such a limited canvas. Think of it! Head sizes aren't all that different although there are long faces and short faces and round faces and what we consider normal size faces. But all you have to work with are two eyes, a nose, a mouth, a forehead and a chin. How can there be six billion different faces with so little to work with? A small percentage of people might look the same, but is there anyone out there who looks just like me? Or you? Noel

Well..... I kinda hate chocolate, especially without nuts or something to moderate it, but that doesn't mean I can't admire something like this. I also wonder how much he would charge for such a creation, and how much research and maybe prototyping goes into such a thing before work actually begins.

Love their products, I bought a bunch of stuff from them and recently purchased the FMC for the 777. They shipped the package on 6/28 from Chino, CA to Colorado, a delivery route that takes the most three days to deliver. For the past two weeks I've been chatting what I figure is their bot in their ticketing system and I've been jerked around for days. At this point I don't really know what to do to either get a refund or have the ship it again, I am FUMING! Check out the tracking history below, how can they claim the package is not lost? Does anyone have any suggestions or connections to someone at Winwing that can actually help? Saturday, 6…

I found this interesting. You may or may not. Jules Verne invented the word Aviator. Who'd have thought. 🤔

Unsure if this is the proper forum. Hi all, I currently fly a G1 Spyl ultralight and am looking for an experienced aircraft developer willing to create a high-quality replica for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (and potentially FS2024 and FSX), compensated for their work. I can provide: Detailed photos of the cockpit/panel/aircraft All relevant flight documentation (performance data, manuals, etc.) If you’re interested or know someone who might be, please reach out! Regards Phil

What a complex cable. But is it worth $130? And why on earth they compared cables with different functions god knows. Apples to oranges. What did they expect, if they compare a lightning cable to a basic USB. 🙄 Next time they should compare and oil tanker to a moped. 😁

The amazon documentary theater movie with the name above cast its spell on me and my wife some years ago. It told a tale with lots of the Alfred Hitchcock, Daniel Defoe (Crusoe), Payton Place, and Mein Kampf about it. It's all true, only nobody can prove absolutely what likely happened, and its possible nothing toward actually did. No matter whom the sensational 1930's world press damned at the time. Now the director Ron Howard takes up the story in his new movie: Eden. Below is what I recall from the book Satan Came to Eden many years ago, so I might have remembered the true story in the book somewhat wrongly. A German intellectual professor is an early en…
