Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. Does anyone know how to get rid of the "overkill" propeller reflections / effects on the Bonanza G36 so that the prop spins like it did in MSFS 2020 ??

30c here in Jersey. Windows open but still baking. It's been a record, apparently. Walked to the shop at 7 this morning to avoid skin getting toasty. UV is high here. Yes, yes... I know you Americans laugh at such temps but no aircon here. Mr. Weathertron will know why...

I watched about 3 hours of the race today and then the network went to other programing, bummer. IMHO, Watkins Glen is one the worlds most iconic road courses. I was there for many a weekend. Three Formula One races and several Six Hour endurance races. Back in the seventies, the Six Hour endurance race weekend also included the CanAm race and Formula 5000 race. So nice to see the "Boot" reopened. Every year I hope and pray they run another USA Formula One there. Doubtful, but a guy can dream. Pretty sure psolk will agree.

This was another fairly tough exam, you'd be given a Lamberts projection chart of the area covered by the exam, (unfortunately I don't have the chart for this paper, but the 1st link is an example of the type of charts used, just basic airways, with VOR's, NDB's, Airfields and coastlines shown). Then you'd use the chart to plot the answers to the questions. Plotting a position line given a bearing from a Nav station was straightforward, but then further positions lines were plotted at later times, and you'd be required to plot a "moving fix", using a parallel ruler to move the position line along your expected track, and using your calculated ground speed to …

This one claims to have worked directly on UFO retrieval program. Also claims he has a video to prove it. 😲 Says he's met with high level Senate staff.

So I have some hardware coming from Italy today. It's a 777 throttle unit and 777 Display Selector piece. Total price for both was ~1,100 Euros which isn't much more in dollars so I was ok paying the price. I got my delivery notification from UPS last night that it was coming today and just got an email and text from UPS that I owe $661 in fees which includes tariff charges. offensive initials not allowed???? 60% in fees and tarriffs??? $661 to collect the hardware I already paid for so I can't refuse or I would just be out the money altogether. What a load of garbage. Of course there is no one at UPS I can speak to but if you are ordering anything via UPS,…

Most of the instant video creation tools are payware (a fee per month). Would be super easy, barely an inconvenience, to make Jorg, Seb, and Martial do or say just about anything at a Developers Q&A.

This could be quite a breakthrough. And apparently it's air breathing. https://www.futura-sciences.com/en/they-built-a-hypersonic-rotating-detonation-rocket-engine-and-it-just-flew-for-the-first-time_18251/ Venus Aerospace has achieved a groundbreaking milestone: the company successfully launched a rocket from the ground using its air-breathing rotating detonation engine

Personally, I would not hesitate to fly on either plane. I hope this drives down demand, thus reducing air fares. https://thehill.com/homenews/5358589-ntsb-issues-urgent-safety-warning-over-certain-boeing-airbus-engines/
