July 4, 2025Jul 4 Here at the retirement home we have a social every Thursday afternoon. We have ice cream and coffee and about once a month live music. A guy with a keyboard comes in and plays music for us. I always ask some of the ladies to dance when we have the music and get in 8 or 10 dances over the hour and a half. One of the ladies, Mille, is just over 100 years old. She's still pretty spry and doesn't need a walker yet. I had considered asking her to dance at previous socials but always thought she might be too old. But this afternoon I asked her and she accepted and we danced through a number. When the music stopped and I escorted her back to her table we got a nice round of applause. I doubt many men can say they danced with a 100 year old lady. It's almost a sin how much fun I am having here. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

July 4, 2025Jul 4 Our son works at a local hospital and takes blood samples, among other things. A few months ago he told us that he had drawn blood from an infant just a few hours old, from a lady who was 99 years old, and pretty much everything in between. Since then, he was called to take a blood sample from the lady again, but then she had turned 100 as well. She seems to be in reasonable health for her age, but not in a position to dance. Good for you, Noel.

Mom 93 ... danced with my Mom at her Memory care facility ... they put on daily events of live music, singing, bingo, games, etc. ... my mom doesn't know who I am, but doesn't matter, a dance is a dance and she's doing great (no walker yet and she has great foot action). Thanks for sharing, treasure every moment. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan

I used to know how to play Skip Bo, but I have forgotten. It has been about 20 years since I played it. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
