I've owned my Reverb G2 for about 3 years and have unfortunately had to replace the cable a couple of times. Last month the headset went again so I assumed it was the cable again and purchased yet another one. However, this time the headset remained dead, with WMR portal telling me to connect a headset. The seller assures me that the cable was tested and was working on shipping. Is there any way, other than finding another headset to test, to independently figure out whether the issue is with the cable or the headset ?

Hello, so I got some extra money recently and have thinking about finally buying a VR headset for MSFS and other games. I have been looking at the Quest 2 as it is in my price range, but had a few questions first. 1) So, my first question would be, do you think I could get away with running VR on my system in MSFS and what kind of performance should I expect? Currently, I get around a constant 35FPS to 40FPS when I'm on the ground but will drop a little when looking around too quickly depending on the area, and will get higher in the air. My current specs are Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, Radeon 6600 GPU, 16GB RAM, SSD. Also any tricks for improving performance on AMD sy…

I've got the HP Reverb G2 and WMR, with the OpenXR Toolkit, but nothing else. I don't use the hand controllers, just the mouse. I see instructions for a program called Color Panel that allows a passthrough , and here's what they say: Open Virtual Desktop setting on your HMD, then tap on "Streaming" tab. You can enable and customize VR passthrough settings here. Smoothness: 10 Similarity: 0-2 RGB: 128, 0, 128 (Purple) (Tested on Quest2) Well that's where the journey ends for me, I can't find any way to access or open this Virtual Desktop. Is there anyone here who knows how to access the Virtual Desktop through WMR?

Hi The years of getting VR to work well in X-plane and now in MSFS have pushed me into technical skullduggery depths beyond my expectation and, probably, my ability. But so far so good and I have been able to make the transition from Steam VR on XP 11 to native WMR on MSFS, including building and tweaking my own Games PC to make the latter perform beyond my wildest dreams. But I'm stumped a little on a topic, especially given the expected forced closure of WMR later in the year with my still fantastically performing Reverb G2 being, potentially, unusable unless I block any and all upgrades and security updates of Windows 11...and that is assuming that Microsoft…

SIMXR. It requires a VR headset with "pass-through" capability. It requires Virtual Desktop. It costs $10. The homepage says it will not reduce fps nor performance. https://www.rkapps.shop/products/simxr -- MANUAL https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kRmIZ4wUODtuiTviibELRNwTWgBm3kg01CeivuwhFP4/edit?pli=1 -- Video, being used with Quest 3

hi, I have tried to look for a topic about the cpflight hardware, but failed to find one. Therefore, this toppic. I recently bought a new pc for msfs, but whenever I try to use my cpflight hardware, I get a error message saying that my tcpip paremeter must be verified. however, I don't understand why this error is occuring, since I already matched the tcpip adress with the one from the mcp itself. Furthermore, I have redownloaded the cpflight files and the fsuipc, but without succes. Can anybody help me out with this problem?

Hello, Guys Are there any simmers who switched from Quest3 to Pimax Crystal? Or at least Quest3 owner who tried Crystal? Please, share your experience. I would like to know how the picture is different. Is there any difference in performance? The comfort, sizes, straps doesn't matter. Would be grateful for your impressions!

Hi. Please need help. I use FS2020 in VR: HP Reverb G2. I had EVGA RTX 3080 TI 12GB video card, figured out my FS2020 settings the way i like, also using OpenXR. All the way i like. and in not busy airport i could get up to 40FPS, in busy up to 30. I just replaced video card with PNY RTX 4080 TI Super Verto Overclocked triple fan 16GB. I kept all settings the same and made sure they are the same. With new card i get exactly SAME FPS!!! Not even 1 more FPS - just same FPS!!! 😞 Why? I do not want to lower my setting to get more FPS because i can do same thing with my old EVGA RTX 3080 TI card and just return RTX 4080 TI Super. Seem like RTX 4080 TI Super is Garbage. My CPU …

Hi all, Im just checking, have the new Quest 3 and suffering serious "Wobble" effect in the sim, even with the extra plugin of the OpenXR System. I've really tried everything and at a dead end on this: The only way to solves this, regardless of if my graphic settings are on Low or Ultra, is to turn the Terrain level of details to minimum "10" System Specs: Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 22621) (22621.ni_release.220506-1250) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. PC - 78003XD - 4090 - QUEST 3 + 2d on occasion. / Ethernet connected with cat 7. On steam/Steam VR. Hello to everyone, I am now at my wits end, and hope someone tech savvy can help. I raised a ticket with zendesk, and they have exhausted all avenues. So one now feels a little lost and out of sorts, with nowhere to turn. Up until about 7 weeks ago, MSFS was a stunning joy to behold. Scenery was rich and vibrant, clear and crisp. Distant scenery and detail was great, and one could see for miles and miles in all directions. This is with TLOD 255 AND LOD 200. The following issues then began, and it was gradual, and progressive. It beg…

Hello AVSIMmers, I just got my first in my life VR headset - Quest 3. My desktop is: i7-14700 + MB Z790 + 64GB RAM + 4070Ti + 2TB SSD. I connected Quest 3 to MSFS and tried to play with settings but with no luck getting a sharp texture and good performance. Textures are not sharp and wavey. I watched a few tutorials on youtube showing some settings in OpenXR and in the sim settings. I just tried sim settings only - getting a blurry image and great performance or significantly dropped FPS and a bit better image. Could you please advise optimal settings for my setup, should I use openXR or somethings else? Could you please advise which specific sett…

Hi, I have mixed luck setting up the quest 3 VR controllers for MSFS. I want to be able to manipulate buttons and switches in the cockpit using the right controller There are some youtube videos that are at least a year old describing this, but non works; I guess the settings in MSFS has changed in the meantime. So, could someone list how they have set up their VR controllers please? Any suggestions for how to set up controllers for VR in general would also be appreciated. Thanks 🙂

Hi all, So I just got back from holiday (today) and one of the things/activities we did involved using a VR headset. It was awesome and having been thinking about (but not researching much) trying VR for MSFS2020 I've just leapt in and bought a Quest 3! I haven't even collected it yet! I got a bit swept away.. Anyhoo, I should probably do some research! My PC specs are below so I was wondering what your opinions are and whether I have "chosen poorly" (Indiana Jones reference there)? As always, thanks very much in advance. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, 8 Cores / 16 Threads, 3.8 - 4.7GHz 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks) ASUS ROG STRIX B550-E GAMI…

Hello, Fellows Maybe you can help me with the headset audio? Initially, I was using cable with the Quest3. The headset was present in the sound devices. But when I installed the Virtual Desktop, the headset dissapeared from the sound devices.... How can I get it back? When I fire up the VD, I hear the music in the earphones. But I want to set up my vpilot audio to go to the headset but there is no Oculus option to choose from in the vpilot sound devices list...

I recently purchased a Quest 3, after my HP G2 died. I love the headset in MSFS, with one exception. I can't get the mouse cursor to work while in VR. The system wants the stupid controllers. I am running MSFS via the Remote Desktop app. When I select VR it quickly goes the SteamVR then MSFS appears. Everything else works fine. Just no mouse. Since I use a cockpit with numerous switches and buttons, I can usually get around the mouse, but not always.

So this app would be GREAT, if we had something like it which did not require SteamVR to function: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1844610/?snr=1_wishlist_4__wishlist-capsule There's also this one...but same problem, it requires SteamVR: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2532240/?snr=1_wishlist_4__wishlist-capsule Keeping fingers crossed that someone will create something that works with Virtual Desktop's new VDXR runtime, instead of SteamVR runtime.
