After the Navigraph survey it seems the most popular cards are the $800 'Nvidia 3080 TI' and the $2,000+ 'Nvidia 4090'. Are both these cards good with VR and what is the best brand to get (PNY, EVGA, ect.)? Of course I'm going to go with the cheaper option if it improves VR from what I currently have. Thanks in advance.🍺

Since having a few days away the only way I can get steam link to work now is to disable the Open Xr toolkit. it worked fine last week . Steam link just says “waiting for msfs 2020” when I switch msfs into vr. Monitor displays the duel screens but oculus 2. Just stays “ waiting for MSFS2020.” stayslike this For ever tried pressing the menu buttons on the hand controllers to look at settings etc, but no joy anyone have any idea how I can get it to run with open xr toolkit active? Such a shame if I cannot use that anymore if using steam link cheers

Happy New Year, all. Just a quick question. Can anyone confirm whither the Discus 2c Premium edition glider is compatible with the Pico 4 controllers? The standard edition does not appear to be compatible. Many thanks Al

After using the Pico 4 for several months as my first VR headset in MSFS, I was largely satisfied with the experience but always felt the lenses were potentially leaving some visual fidelity on the table. They were good centrally but tailed off quite a bit as you go to the periphery. With all the talk of the Quest 3 having really good quality lenses and the potential for higher quality streaming, I had a hunch that I would see a tangible increase in visual quality and so finally picked one up to test with. This is all based on wireless streaming via virtual desktop and the experience in MSFS2020. The out of the box comfort is a separate discussion as this can be mitigated…

For example, use POV hat to re-assign "Bindings for User Camera Translation" defaults (on the Switch to VR menu screen) which are currently assigned to keyboard arrow keys (these adjust the pilot's viewpoint). How?

never cared for artifacts and judders in vr reprojection mode in the past, but the recent hype in the main forum regarding rtx frame gen caused me to revisit reprojection again. to my surprise, it wasn't as bad as i remembered it and it was much smoother at the expense of some image quality and fps. as long i don't move my viewpoint too quickly it works well, and rather see smooth momentary image quality loss than nervous stutters in demanding gfx situations. i'll give reprojection another try.

Good Morning, Happy to be back after so long in the simulation 🙂 Bought MSFS 2020 yesterday and install it on my Gamer laptop ( for now ). I also bought TCA Captain X airbus edition and tried to play a bit. When I plugged the TCA I lost sound on my speakers (bluetooth that I use with the laptop). My question is : When I will play in the future and use vpilot will I be able to ear airplane noise in my speaker and use headset USB connect for ATC ? TCA have a connection hole at the back but can I ignore it ? or is there an easy configuration ? Thanks for now as I will of course in the future have other questions lol. Richard B.

When I first tried a Quest 2 (previously Odyssey+) with MSFS, everything looked washed out and I never took it any further. Now on a new PC (4090) with a Quest 3, I found the same thing and the whole world looked nice and sharp, but like it was made out of plastic. Thanks to a tip-off from @Donka I found the colour settings in OpenXR toolkit (first enable post-processing). I can't believe the difference. After a bit of tweaking, on an evening flight in Scotland, I actually got the feel of evening and everything looked so much more real. This was a huge step-up in immersion. I'm not there yet and I doubt that these settings will work in all conditions, but this is wh…

After much messing around, I finally managed to get FS2020 working properly in proper VR with PSVR. Better still, I am pulling 45 FPS pegged on my rig in my signature with all VR settings on high and 30-35 FPS with all VR settings set to max/ultra, the latter of which I am using very happily. I am using iVRy through SteamVR with refresh set to 90Hz, motion smoothing off and VR-direct mode. I have also disabled using desktop game theatre while SteamVR is active for FS2020 as this was causing the game to only run in Cinematic mode. I didn't think the old PSVR would be up to the task, but it hasn't disappointed. Sure, the resolution is much lower than modern VR off…

I am using a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop and VDXR. With the gamma set to 1 (default) most of the details in the sky are washed out and the landscape is too light. Turning gamma down to 0.7 in Virtual Desktop helps, but there is then too much contrast. Does anyone know how to adjust the contrast and get to any other image settings?

Just a heads up that the Pimax Crystal VR is currently on sale, I think until the end of December (could be longer, I'm not sure). There is a 16% discount and free shipping. Available on the Pimax website. Just thought I would share because I hadn't heard about this myself until yesterday. For an extra saving, go to VR Flight Sim Guy's video on Pimax and look for the link and code in the description to save an extra $50 USD.

I have a strange situation now and again. When I want to go for a quick flight without setting up my yoke etc I just boot up with my joypad and mouse and quest 2 . Occasionally mid flight. I lose the mouse cursor and mouse and keyboard are non responsive, however I can flick switches adjust throttle etc and control everything with the Quest controllers and the joypad then after a bit the mouse cursor reappears no idea why !

I know there is a long discussion about shimmer and broken AA in the overlays in the Microsoft Flightsim forums with VR and I was marginal effected in my opinion so I skipped that discussion in the past but now I'm back again in the VATSIM environment and have to use Vpilot for VATSIM communication. I discovered that the TAA quality is degraded a lot compared to normal offline VR flying. I have to start Mixed Reality first for using my HP Reverb-1 otherwise I can't connect the Sound and Mic function within Vpilot and it seems to me that Vpilot stay's invisible somewhere in the overlay even if I shoot it minimalize to the taskbar. I manage the further communication vi…

Seems to be a free equivalent from Valve/Steam of Virtual Desktop. Should be interesting trying this… Steam :: Steam News :: New: Play Steam VR games on Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro We’re excited to announce the streaming technology of Steam Link is now available on the Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro, allowing you to wirelessly play VR games from your Steam library. Steam Link is a free app that uses the power of your PC to stream Steam games onto phones, tablets, and TVs — and now, on Meta Quest. Before you begin: You’ll need a router with a wired connection to your PC, and a 5GHz WiFi network for your headset. Getting started Make sure St…

Hello all, Firstly, may I take this opportunity to whish those who celebrate Christmas, a very merry one followed by the best new year wishes for all. Just recently, when I load MSFS and get to post fly now - Fly (second) in VR I have an incredible array of black squares some are somewhat pixelated and opaque but most are solid. These decrease with height above ground, but initially there are thousands of these black squares. Occasionally, they initiate as red squares but generally are black. Performance is not an issue and MSFS in VR is quite smooth. It does not matter where I initiate flight from. I find that if I quit and reload MSFS they tend…

Reverb G2 / 3060 Ti Driver 31.0.15.2698 (latest Game Ready 526.98) / Win 10 21H2 19044.2251 / Steam I had been using the G2 a lot prior to the latest MSFS update but today is first try with VR since SU 10. VR works fine in Assetto Corsa. VR works fine in MSFS as long as I run in VR desktop mode (I start the sim from the VR desktop) - I can do anything I want with no problems. When I start Mixed Reality then MSFS from the 2D desktop and then use the MSFS Options / VR / switch to VR I get an immediate CTD. Empty Community folder and also happens in SAFE mode. I've used both MS Mixed Reality and Steam VR with same result. Only odd thing is that when I s…

Since it's now possible to use Quest 2 hand tracking in Flight Simulator (thanks to OpenXR Toolkit), I tried the ultimate immersive setup, with only hand tracking (no VR controllers) combined with a joystick physically located where the virtual one is. It feels awesome to be able to manually control the entire cockpit with your bare hands, while remaining easily in control of the flight ! I recorded a video using Ultra settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eckxKwYkKmM Flight Simulator 2020 with SU9 and WU10 Flying Diamond DA40NG over Hollywood hills at dusk, Ultra settings Quest 2 (V43) PCVR via Wifi 6 Air Link Hand Tracking using OpenXR Tool…
