Hi, I fly exclusively in Vr. I noticed that when I end a flight while running 'developers' mode, my seating position does not reset like it does when in "normal" mode. I am thinking of leaving 'developers' mode on to avoid this annoyance. Is anyone else doing this? are there any negatives to doing this? Thanks in advance.

Had an "experience" I could have lived without, today. I was flying and had to get up for moment. Put my Oculus on the desk and upon getting up knocked it off the desk. When I came back I saw that the facial interface had come clean off. That is not a problem it can be reattached without a problem. But... On the back side the plastic has a comb structure. And in one of the combs I saw something white that looked like a sheet of paper. So I picked a small metal object and peeled it out of there. It desintegrated into a sticky white mass like cotton candy. I was totally confused. Until I saw had a second look into that specific comb structu…

Im trying to figure out a way for a "passenger" to be able to fly along with me in vr. Is there any way to record a VR sim session, livestream it, and have it be viewable to another user in VR while they are wearing their own headset?

All, Following on from video I made showing the PC I built for my Dad earlier in the year, I’ve now added a VR headset and wanted to share with you how it’s gone: It’s incredible how well it works where I almost got carried away using it myself after setting it up. We are absolutely delighted with it!

Hi, friends. I have another beginner question, which, I hope, will not make you laugh too much J My question relates to possibility of improving performance in VR. PC desktop mode is fine. I use almost ultra set up and reach around 60 fps (with RTX 3060 Ti). Great quality and decent performance. On the other side the VR mode is far from good as regard the quality of visuals, not mentioning the poor performance smoothness. I have ultra wide 21:9 2K monitor (3440 x 1440), which itself reduced the fps when in “normal” mode, which I understand, but when switching to VR, the HP Reverb G2 goggles take another huge portion of PC performance, which I also understand…

HI everyone, a long time ago I came across a post explaining how to switch to MSFS VR mode without seeing the mixed reality home or those 'stars'. I had my setup working like that; but recently (because of a corrupted gaming services update), I had to reinstall windows 11 and MSFS. I am slowly reconfiguring things to the way I had them but can't find the information explaining the steps and files to edit for starting without Mixed reality home. Any guidance how to do this or how to find the post would be appreciated. I have tried Google search but so far, no luck. Thanks in advance.

Since I got my G2 headset over a year ago I have set the L/G button on my throttle to switch from VR to 2D and back. Now, over the last couple of months the button is hit and miss. I have since assigned other buttons to the same task and they too work only on occasion. There is no pattern. So, I can't do much troubleshooting. I find it very frustrating to have to ESC out and go to General Options just to go back and forth. Has anyone else struggled with this issue? If so, was there a fix? Or is this just another MS broke something new while trying to fix something else?

Hey guys, I finally had some time after all these years to play around with MSFS 2020 (even though I was one of the very first beta testers). Is there any on how to make the cockpit sharper? I have Nvidia RTX 2070 Super and Quest 2. I am getting the FPS boost with OpenXR. Tried TAA at 100-115 and even DLSS. Quest 2 is set to 72hz with SS set to 1.1 in the Oculus Software It is okay but not as good as Xplane-12. I can really the G1000 in Xp12 like it is in front of me. Tips and tricks will be appreciated.

I bought an Occulus Quest 2 and could never see MSFS in it after setting it up. I returned it and bought a HP Reverb G2 and the exact same problem. I've set it up according to You Tube video, installed Steam and Steam VR and Mixed Reality Portal. Change all the settings per video. Started MSFS, put it in VR mode under graphics settings, hit control + tab but no MSFS in goggles. Is there a certain process you have to go thru step by step to launch the game? Is there a You Tube video somewhere showing me how to do this. I can't be this dumb, has to be something little that I'm not doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Apple announced their new VR goggles the other day. Does anyone know if it might be able to work in FS2020?

Meta announced a performance upgrade for Quest 2's CPU and GPU when they release the Quest 3 Will that translate in a (modest?) positive effect on MSFS performance I wonder ... or is the performance of the PC to which the Quest is connected really the only deciding factor?

Hi, I'm using PSXT live traffic and find it to be fantastic. My problem is that I can't get rid of AI traffic generated by MSFS in VR. It works in 2d but not in VR despite the same traffic settings for both modes. Aircraft traffic type -- OFF AI airliners traffic density -- 0 (just to be safe) AI general aviation traffic density -- 0 Show traffic nameplates -- OFF further down in the traffic options dialogue Use generic airvraft models (AI Traffic) -- OFF Traffic Variety -- LOW No matter what I do those generated airliners still show up ... Thanks for suggestions! Matt

I wanted to share my settings for the Reverb G2 without Motion Reprojection (MR) here for anyone who doesn't use the official MSFS forums. @ExeRay has already shared a great guide for people who want to use MR, this is a guide for people who don't like the artifacts caused by using MR and want an alternative. Please note that these settings are tuned to hold a minimum of 45fps and are what works best for me, with my hardware, and with the visual settings that I desire, as well as for use in the kind of aircraft that I enjoy flying, which is GA. YMMV. I have a 5800x3d CPU, 4090 GPU, 64gb DDR4 RAM and a 2560x1440 165Hz monitor. Le…

Are we able to bind buttons and keys and keep them active only while in VR or outside of VR? I've found that having my mouse look active makes things lag very bad in VR. Something about noisy hardware inputs I guess. Anyway I've found if I unbind mouse look it takes away the intermittent lag while using my mouse to interact with the cockpit while in VR. But not having it is too annoying when simming in 2D mode.

What are you all using and have you found any advantages/disadvantages of using one or the other in VR? I can't say I notice anything obvious, but I've only tried a couple of DX12 flights to compare and I've got frames locked using the Virtual desktop SSW/Snapdragon chip frame doubling capability, so I might not see some of the differences that might be apparent to others.

I've seen this before but now with Navigraph charts I'm finding it to be very annoying. Does anyone else have this toolbar issue where if your head is not perfectly centered AND you have a toolbar active the sim shows an elongated version of your popup window across your view? I thought it was an addon causing it but maybe it's just a sim bug. Anyone seeing this. Sorry about the bad photo but I was doing it with one hand haha. I want to make sure it's not JUST me before I put a bug report in. I use a few toolbar addons like pushback, no handlebar, sim rate selector and now Navigraph. Having the charts in VR is amazing and works pretty well.... except for th…

Some of you may know me from the Canadian airports I released, but now I just want to share a motion simulator project I just completed. I recently became interested adding some motion to VR, but I quickly learned that commercially available rigs are very expensive, so entry cost is too high, and there is no motion compensation solution that works well with WMR OpenXR (Reverb G2), rendering some solutions unsuitable. So that was disappointing. Then I learned that people are building those rigs themselves. I read about that and I was hooked. Research followed, parts were ordered, and soon I started building. When I finished the initial tuning and tried it in VR o…
