Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have noticed (since day 1 when VR was made available in MSFS actually) that the scratches/ fingerprints on the windows that become visible when sunlight hits them are not fixed. When moving my eyes or head they move slighty with me ... as if they're floating a bit. must be some sort of layer that doesn't match perfectly. Am I the only one seeing this? Since SU12 when I set up a flight and switch to VR, I get multiple lines across the mountains in the scenery. I'm still trying to test to see if it's associated with the OpenXR Toolkit Companion but first indications are that it doesn't make any difference. I'm also not sure if it is only on a change of flight, I didn't notice it on my fisrst flight but the second flight from the main Menu I did, but I also changed location. After they appear, if I go to 2D monitor, they are still there. Anyone else seeing this?

MRTV - latest version directly from the Pimax headquarter: in every video he comes up with the opposite verdict from the previous one. will have to wait for the MSFS test tomorrow and for a through-the-lense video. if nothing else, this at least will give the Varjo aero a run for their money that has no headphones, no base station etc.

Hope this isn't regarded as off-topic. I've had this for two years working flawlessly, then suddenly it became a bit flaky in starting and shortly afterwards died completely (no white light). Yes, I've tried reseating the cable, different USB and video ports and checked that the power supply is working. I contacted HP who have said there are no repair options for it, at least from them. So... can they be repaired, and if they can is there anyone in Australia who I can contact? Or am I SOL on an A$855 unit? Thanks, Malcolm Street Canberra, Australia

I just got the latest Varjo Base update and the new motion smoothing option is very slick. Super smooth even locking at 30fps on my 3090 at the very high 37ppd resolution. I can't quite achieve 39ppd. I think this 3090 will see me through until there's a 5090 now. Dynamic foveated rendering (OXRTK) + DLSS + motion smoothing are some great technologies that have come recently to MSFS/Varjo and really improved image quality and the immersive experience.

Just updated to 12 and vr sound does not work correct with reverb g2 . I have to switch of active spatial sound to get it to work again...

After update was unplayable on my Quest 2! Sooooo jerky about 1 FPS !!! Spent 2 hours rebooting pc checking the settings in quest app. Then thought I’ll try DSS, went into graphic settings and everyone had been turned on to ULTRA with all sliders completely over to the right !!!! Not sure if somehow the launch checked my PC and decided I had a super computer!! Anyway reset them to reasonable settings and all good again ! Hope this helps 😎

Hi guys, I’ve been interested in VR for a while, but just kept pushing it off. I’ve also been super turned off by the reports of motion sickness. But now I’m looking into getting a headset and give it a try, but keep seeing posts go back and forth between the latest reverb g2 and the pico 4. Has anyone had experience with both? You guys have more knowledge on VR than I do, so what would all of you say between the two?

In SU12 in VR (G2) the fonts of the Navigraph toolbar window are unreadable small at the moment. Have other this problem too? It is also in some Sky4sim apps

I just upgraded from 10850K/4090 to 7950x3D/4090/32GB DDR5 and want to give you guys some quick observations regarding the VR experiences. I fly with HP G2. I use DLSS quality and OpenXR scale = 225%. At this setting the image quality in G2 is *very* good. I feel it's nearly 95% of G2's max quality and panels are crystal clear with not a single hint of pixelation. However, there is no cure to the small sweetspot of G2, very annoying. Performance wise. I now set nearly everything to the ultra/max with 7950x3D. Hi all, In VR I am using a Corsair HS80 wireless headset. When my friend tries out my VR setup and I want to talk to him clearly into the headset and give him some flying tips etc, while he enjoys the full sound immersion. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks

When I go from 2D to VR (HP Reverb G2) I allways have a soundcard issue: I have Hapticonnect to a separate USB soundcard for the Buttkicker. When I switch to VR the Hapticonnect loses connection to the USB card. I also had a similar issue with a Bluetooth Wireless Headset: switching to VR resulted allways to disconnection of the BT headset. Does anyone have a clue?

I have a Reverb G2 and I’m finding that for longer flights I have to switch off Live weather due to the frequent bumps and jolts causing motion sickness. It would be a good idea if Asobo would give the ability to delete the winds while still enjoying the real weather clouds etc..

I don't usually like getting paranoid, but this is starting to look like I might have some malware going on. I just installed a 3070Ti, and for the most part VR (Reverb G2) is amazingly smooth even at fairly good-sized airports. But every once in awhile, the sim will keep running smoothly but when I turn my head there's severe display lag, where I'll get big black bars to whichever side I'm turning my head for a second or so until the display catches up with my head movement. The weird bit is that if I open the task manager, that lag instantly goes away and everything's smooth again. If the task manager gets minimized, the lag will sometimes come back. That's almost beh…

Anyone ever have the mouse lag real bad while in VR? It may be okay on my first flight, but if I go back to the menu and then fly again it's very bad. It will skip across an entire round gauge when the lag is bad. I do have a wireless mouse so maybe that's causing issues.

I realise this should really be in the VR forum but that seems very sparsely subscribed recently so I thought I'd try here. I've installed Pico 4's Streaming assistant and can connect ok to Pico's library and with patience get either a wireless or wired connection. Where it goes wrong is running MSFS. First, running without virtual desktop is terrible quality and I get frequent error messages in Steam VR saying my Pico controllers are incompatible, which I know they are not. Secondly, when I eventually get MSFS running but briefly take the headset off to adjust things MSFS the mouse doesn't work and nor do the controllers. So I cannot adjust settings and nor can…

I'm happy with my G2, I never have used a Pico 4. Pico 4 cost about $430 (Walmart etc.). VR Flightsim Guy seems to think the G2 gives better framerates, but the Pico 4 gives the better image (it has better lenses). Both have the same resolution, but lens quality also matters. The Pico 4 has air conditioning (fan blows air onto your face). The Pico 4 has better designed hand controllers. His bottom line is that with a series 4000 video card then the Pico 4 is on balance the best. But with lesser gpu the framerates of the Reverb G2 make it the best choice.

Do you think this is nice This is how LGRP looks in my SIM and other Airports all the time for month now. Hi I just started having a problem that hopefully someone can help me out. Everything was working fine until today. I fly the honda jet using steam, navigraph, G3000. When i go to the pdf or mfd control panels and hit the charts button nothing happens. It used to bring up the navigraph charts. I go to pfd control panel and hit utilities, setup, and try to hit the database button which is not lighted up. and it wont let me pick it. I only have access to the avionic button.Does anyone know how I can get the database button to lite up? Any help would bw appreciated. Thanks Al

Freeware or payware, visually good looking, with functionality to open own PDF files (charts and other papers) with quite good navigation between files/pages and zoom in/out options. Cheers!

Hi guys, working on getting my Quest 2 tuned well for MSFS and exploring the possibility of using some sort of motion reprojection instead of just disabling it everywhere as I've heard people tend to do. I'm kinda confused on the diffferences between the various options for it though. I know in the debug tool I can set the Oculus equivalent of ASW, but then I noticed in the sim in the VR display settings there is also a "motion reprojection" option with two settings that have like zero explanation as to what they do. I see the in sim options of "depth" or "depth and motion". Every time I set it to the combo it has set it to depth when I go back in. If I wanted to run…

The Fog/Haze over past year seems to increase on my computers regardless of weather settings in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It seems to be highlighted even more in VR (HP G2 & Varjo Aero). I have turned off Bloom, which seems to help but not to my satisfaction. Running i9-13900K, 4090, standard – no clocking with very small amount of community items, Rex AccuSeason is loaded. Any suggestions to experience true Clear Weather would be appreciated. Thanks!!
