With so many options on the market today i look for advice for the replace of my beloved Vive now in 2023. - Oculus Quest 2 - Valve Index - Hp Reverb 2 G2 - Other Taking in consideration prices(we always want so spend the less possible of course), performance and behavior in MSFS. Other 2 things to consider, my specs (see below) and that im in the European market, so more expensive that in the US. Thank you

I am currently on Pico 4 / Virtual Desktop / OpenXR Toolkit on a PC 13900K / 4090TI. VR is really a game changer for me. However, I have to critize that the text on cockpit instruments, for example the labeling of the FMC touch keys in the PMDG B737, appears blurry if I look at it from the pilot position. Readability is only superb if I zoom in with the right mouse key or if I lean forward towards the instruments. Similarly if I look outside the window during the flight, objects on the ground appear blurry. Nearby objects are sharp. I know that this is an issue of VR in general, at least with the current VR technology. It would be great to have a better depth of fiel…

Got my Pico 4 last week and I've been having a blast, but having come from a sharp, clear 4K flat screen, the image quality in VR hasn't blown me away. I've been tweaking settings to get the most out of my Pico 4 but I've hit a wall with aliasing (I hate aliasing! 😆) My software lineup is somewhat standard for wireless streaming VR: MSFS - OpenXR - StreamVR - Virtual Desktop - WiFi - Pico 4. I'm using TAA in MSFS VR and I've been trying various over sampling rendering resolutions, encoding bitrates but none of these seem to eliminate the shimmering. Also running VD in Godlike. Any suggestions as to where I can squeeze more anti-aliasing out of my system? Nvidia…

As vague and lacklustre as their responses to VR questions in recent Q&As have been I think this quote is pretty telling....and it's been eating at me for some time, just exactly where is he getting the 10% from? Of course for starters he is privy to the numbers, only he and the team know for sure, but it begs the question and some details are a missing from his quote. So to dig deeper; Is the 10% from.... All MSFS users including Xbox, the latter of which of course does not have VR Purely PC users across both MS Store & Steam PC users but on only one platform (MS Store or Steam) But that is not all, how is the VR number generated; F…

.....or are they doing something behind the scenes? SU9 is a joke; the Toolbar Windows have yet again regressed with a new bug that was never there before (resizing issue, obvious within the first 5seconds of gameplay...), no bug fixes for the most glaringly obvious bugs that have existed since VR was introduced and more so since the SU7 Toolbar/Mouse issues (mouse over windows still prevents some controls from not working), the only notable Fix is for VR Controllers....and that's it and yes before you ask I have sent off Zendesk Tickets in the past and reported Bugs on the Official Forums which others have voted for. So when Jorg & Martial sit there pandering to t…

Im wondering what hardware everyone is using to make this possible with a motion rig. I guess there is an openxr beta with motion compensation. Witmotion isnt fully 6 axes (yet). I was thinking of going with the htc vive tracker, mounted to my seat top somehow (i also use haptic butt kicker so antivibration needed). There is a mount they sell out there for about $170 shipped, but i found one on amazon that may work for $22 https://fasetech.com/shop/catalog/accessories-c2/htc-vive-tracker-mount-p92 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ5XH4O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 What does everyone use and im still unclear if openxr h…

Not to be confused with the OpenXR toolkit, this updated version of OpenXR Tools for windows contains more options for motion reprojection amongst other things. Mine was updated automatically, else get it from the microsoft app store. Latest version is 113.2304.14003 for those keeping score. I'm still playing with all the options so can't comment on any improvements.

just finished my new Ryzen 7800X3D pc build and couldn't believe my eyes: 90 fps with HP Reverb G2 over Orcas Island KORS in Carenado Seneca, no FStraffic tools, high-medium to low graphics settings obviously set as default after a fresh re-install of MSFS, but totally satisfying experience. have to immediately increase VR graphics settings substantially - 90 fps? - this can't go on: my hardware: AMD 7800X3D, no overclocking, what for 😀 Gigabyte Aorus X670 Elite AX 64 GB DDR5 - G.Skill EXPO 6000 EXPO timings in BIOS RTX 4090 HP Reverb G2 total power consumption: pc incl. RTX 4090 + 7800X3D: 360 watts. what about you, 13900K? n…

I have had the aero for almost 1 year. Until recently i hadnt noticed this issue. If viewing a bright area, such as a white background or even blue skies, you can see this background Mura issue, almost like dust particles, very faint but once you see you cant unsee. They form horizontal patterns i think. I'm wondering if everyone's aero is like this or not? One person in discord seemed to suggest they swapped theirs out and its gone, but i'm not so sure actually. i dont believe this is screen door either. Or i'm wondering if maybe its from forgetting to turn the goggles off (unplug) and lcd burn? To send the unit back would be about a month turn around.…

I’ve been away from flight simming for quite some months due to no time etc. Decided to fire up MSFS last night, and had to do the obligatory 48GB’s worth of updating, plus regional updates. I also updated OpenXR while I was at it, as I’m using a G2. Upon firing up the game, firstly, it looked horrendous, especially the trees which looked sort of waxy, and unable to decide if they were going to be 3D or not. Very hard on the eyes. But, worse than that, I was fluctuating between 25-29 fps. Less than half of that which I had enjoyed previously. Even after dialling the settings way back it still ran like garbage. I have a fairly decent system, 5950X and a 3090, fas…

Hi, in every flight I do, the Reverb G2 display/lens will suddenly go black and after a couple of seconds, they recover. I’ve searched for a possible solution and found that it could be related to the sound. Lower it as for the suggestions but did not help. Is anyone reading this with that same problem? Any solution? Thank you!

Had a problem recently where fps had dropped and was most noticeable looking down to the side, even in outback sparse scenery. Couldn't think of any changes I had made so it was a bit of a mystery. Last night I had another look at settings and discovered that I had set image quality to Quality, rather than Performance. (It's near the top of the options, hope I got the name right). Switched it back (no need to go to ultra performance for me) and sim is silky smooth in the outback etc once again, with little impact on the image quality. Useful tip if you have a mid card like mine (3060 ti)

Quite some time ago there was a trick going around that if you changed your PC render resolution to 200 it would actually help your VR graphics. Was the effect real? But more importantly, does it still have any relevence in 2023 or has that trick gone away?

Hi, just got my HP reverb 2 vr headset and Im amazed by the immersion in msfs. However one thing that Im a bit bothered by is how to access the documents, like ths flightplan and charts and such For example when to program the fmc in pmdg737... Wouldnt want to break the immersion to do these things by removing the headset... How do you handle these things?

Hopefully, someone can point me in the right direction or provide some things to try? Specs first: MSFS MS Store version. Steam and Steam VR installed. Pico 4 headset AMD 5800X3D RTX 3090 32GB Ram Pico is set up and working on it's own fine. Set up wireless link to pc using the Pico Streaming Assistant. That also appears to be working fine as I can start Steam VR on the PC and view in the Pico. Gone through the set up and all appears fine. If I launch MSFS2020 - hangs near end of loading if Steam VR is running but start MSFS first then connect Pico and Steam VR then I can see MSFS 2D in the headset. I can start a …

I am experiencing a problem that hasn’t occurred until this latest update. I’m getting good frames while in 2D, then I switch into VR & working great. But as soon as I exit VR (hotkey back to 2D during flight), it’s a slideshow….FPS drops to 5. Basically unusable. nVidia 3080, driver 531.41 latest, HP Revrb G2, sim updated, OpenXR reinstalled. Something’s broken.

My Reverb G2 died the other day so i went ahead a bought the quest pro to try it out. It does have a huge sweet spot and the oculus software seems to work much better than windows mixed reality, however I just cant get good image quality from the quest pro. Has anyone else tried this headset? The clouds and night in general look awful, major banding in the night sky, and it seems to have this weird sharpening filter at all times. Daytime is ok, but its still a downgrade in sharpness and image quality compared to the g2. Ive tried cranking the resolution up too the max, playing with tray tools and settings super sampling, it helps but its still doesnt fix the banding …
