After a longish break from MSFS, I've been tempted back by the recent spate of excellent addons. I decided to try the 310 first, though I'm not usually a twin prop flyer. It's a lovely bird, and a game-changer, imho, with the "rental" option which for the first time ever means that preflight checks actually matter. But what I really wanted to say was WHOA! about the VR implementation. It is absolutely first class. The clarity of e.g. the PMS750 is terrific. The sense of space and position in the 'pit is first class. If I lean forward, I am getting more or less the clarity I get in 2D. I'm sure that's not quite right, but it FEELS like it is, and that'l…

Hello guys, I enjoy MSFS in VR with my Quest 2 but I somehow can't set up an external (or drone) camera to move around the aircraft (it seems I'm too dumb to set it up). In the cockpit camera I mapped some controller buttons to translate the view FWD / BAK / LEF / RIG and use my mouse for PITCH and YAW. Basicaly I set it up like a 1st person shooter to look around with my mouse and walk with my buttons. I can't seem to get this system to work on the EXT view and in VR I miss the DRONE camera option! Q1: Is there a way to set up something described above. Q2. Is there a way to actualy walk around in real life e.g. set up a EXT CAM position under a wing …

Hi everyone. Let me start by saying that I realize that tuning a system for the best experience involves a lot of trial and error and especially PATIENCE. However, there are also a lot of moving parts to getting good VR from MSFS and without a degree of knowledge, all the patience and trial and error in the world won't necessarily get you what you want. I have had MSFS since it came out and I have a Quest 2. You can see from my signature that my PC specs are very good. I have watched so many videos on how to set up my system for good performance and visuals and nothing seems to work. I have tried using the Link cable, I have tried using AirLink, I have trie…

Some may notice the eyepoint is way too high in the Fenix (in the pilots seat) Thanks to a wonderful forum member who gave these coordinates - adjust the bold [VIEWS] eyepoint = 43.92074, -1.623061, 3.5755627 ; (feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datum This works well, but the eyepoint is still a little too far away from the panel... needs to move forward another 6 inches or so... so my problem is, which (i presume the longitudinal) numbers do i adjust for this? Any ideas welcomed! PS - finally got my G2 set up for smooth flying... still got lots to learn in VR but man o man, what a treat this is!

Hi Just trying to get an idea into trying VR for both MSFS and DCS, I don't have a clue about it, but would like some recommnedations on headset etc. Will my PC be suitable (Specs are AMD 5900x3d RX6800GPU MSI X570 Pro M/B, 32gb DDR4 Ram 3600 and approx 4tb of storage with NvMe drives. What i don't understand is some stating they don't need connecting to a PC? Surely it needs the processing power of a decent GPU? Cost will be a factor, i certainly wont be able to afford the top of the range, but any recommendations from the lower to mid range headsets would be ideal. Thanks in advance.

OK, I have had limited experience with a friend's VR, about three years ago. I can't remember his headset, but I think it may have been an Occulus? I had so many issues with it that I have never pursued things further. 1) I found the headset constantly slipping down off my forehead and in doiung so was constantly moving the focus of the image so the entire perimeter of the visuals were out of focus. 2) I found I had a headache in a very short period of time after wearing the headset. 3) I found it nauseating, but I was told I would get used to that? 4) The overall resolution was poor, with pixels easily seen 5) I couldn't read any of the instruments, which was the end ki…

Edit Appears the problem was the driver, AMD GPU users can only use 22.5.1. Therefore, as of 8-11-2022, the other drivers are still not working correctly with the Reverb G2. They work sometimes, but not reliably or consistently. Problem Before loading MSFS, I have to keep shutting down and reloading Windows Mixed Reality, or change HZ back and forth, and then eventually the flickering is gone. Once gone, it never comes back during an entire flight, at least I've never seen it do so.

Hi all, I’ve just bought a Varjo Aero and am wondering how many Base Station 2.0’s are actually needed for seated VR flying? Is it ok just to have 1 straight in front if I wall mount it ? Also what controller do you guys recommend ? Or can I get away without a controller ?

The problem with my hotfix is that sometimes i loose the mouse so i cant use any switches in the plane. Very annoying, anyone else have this? My headset is HP g2...

Hi all. I am just starting to set up my new Varjo Aero to use with MSFS. I have a couple of questions: 1. Does the headset/Varjo Base support DX12 yet for VR? 2. When using the headset for MSFS, should Open VR and Open XR be turned on in Varjo Base? If not, what configuration should be used? Thanks, Rob

Hi, i am trying to experiment with my motion reprojection settings but I don't get it working properly. I am using the OpenXR Tool for WMR and the Open XR Toolkit with my HP Reverb G2. I am using the sim update 10 beta with DLSS enabled and get with a render scale of 100% in the WMR Tool >45 FPS. When enabling motion reprojection in the WMR Tool and try to lock the frames to 45 or 30 in the OpenXR Toolkit, my frames are going down way below 30 (ca. 11-17 FPS). Since I am experiencing some stutters i want to try locking my frames at 30 and turn on motion reprojection. Does someone know a solution for it? Thanks and kind regards, Philipp

As the title suggests. A few updates ago I have had a situation. I am unable to use the sim in monitor mode after switching from VR. The frame rate falls to 5FPS. I have to close Windows Mixed reality before the sim is usable again. If I decide to go back in VR, the moment I re activate WMR, the frames are back to 5 FPS. If I activate VR mode, sometimes I get a CTD, but most times it switches to VR mode and runs quite fine, though perhaps not as smooth as my original activation. I am using a RTX 280 Super. with a 9th gen Intel I9 and 64G memory. I am on Windows 11 pro but had the problem before updating to Windows 11. Infact, I went to Windows 11…

For whatever reason I am unable to open the XR menu at all. I have verified my keys are working and are not being affected by any other apps. Is there a way to access a config file for the app or anything? If anyone else ran into this and solved it please let me know. Thank you

Hi, i am really new to the VR world but I love it so much. Currently i am struggeling to setup my motion controllers in msfs best to use it with the pmdg 737 and the fenix a320. Can someone share their motion controller input settings, which work the "best" for using it with airliners. With my current setting its almost impossible to use all the dialing buttons and would love to see some handy controller inputs from someone who knows what he's doing 😃 Thanks and kind regards, Philipp

I would like to start uploading to youtube recordings of me flying in VR without loosing any of the picture area that I see. I can record just one eye but that means the audience is not seeing some of the area that the other eye sees that's not overlapping. Is there a way to blend the two eyes together? One step further would be to make it widescreen with minimal image loss.

...even after I move and resize, and close/open it, which about 8 months ago used to be permanent for each session, now returns to the default straight ahead, narrow, zoomed in 'default' settings in placement, focus and area. Lets get that working again eh? I have had zero luck getting resolutions from Microsoft forum - there forum is so buggy, it often would not let me post (after having done so successfully). Suggestions? Is it just me? Settings fix? ADVthanksANCE for any suggestions. Cheers!
