It's clear the focus of Asobo is on 2D versus VR and that's never been more obvious than this latest update. VR is all but 800x600 quality now, looking very pixelated. Every time you open the ATC window it's minimized to a point you have to manually expand it to see your options. I don't know who beta tested this but with each SU it get's worse and worse. It's so hard to go back to 2D after VR because the feel of the cockpits is so different. The last update wasn't right with anything outside of GA, forget IFR. VR using IFR flights in plane like the Longitude had many areas that was otherwise smooth in 2D had stutters around airports and detailed scenery. It wasn't…

Anyone had a bash at the Darkstar in VFR? Had my sound up quite loud, the boom when they cut in made me jump ! Got her up to Mach 10.00 and 275,000 feet. The red glow of the plane skin is very effective, Had to do it, stood up and popped my head out of the canopy having donned my fireproof vest and space suit. Great fun in VR !

Hi All! I haven't posted on here in quite some time, but I just thought I would jump on and see if anyone else was experiencing generally lower FPS in VR with MSFS recently. Just a week or two ago I fired up the sim and was experiencing faster performance in VR, with frame rates between 35 and 40 with medium high settings! It was amazing! Unfortunately yesterday I decided to start a flight and was disheartened to find that my FPS was now hovering around 15. Strangely my FPS in normal 2D mode is upwards of 45 to 50 after the recent updates! The only thing I've done recently is update MSFS to the latest version and also update the Open XR Tool Kit Companion to th…

I really enjoyed the low altitude flights, in some of them I had the highest score, I guess nobody more had done them haha.

I'm sure this happens with more headsets than the Reverb G2, but ever got too close to your monitor when running in VR and had the headset 'grab' the screen view so that as you move, where the view moves with you? It is a common issue with X-plane (there are ways of controlling it) but can happen also in MSFS, although generally more subtly. Rather than the whole VR view locking onto the screen, as it does in X-plane, in MSFS it tends to glitch the VR view resulting in judders and stutters as you look around the cockpit. Similar to the stutters you get when your settings and hardware are struggling with the resolution, but a bit more random and where the whole vie…

Well guys, as a noob (and thanks for the help form forum members here) i was hesitant about VR and just how "immersive" its supposed to be... well...after i finally got my Oculus Quest 2 to work, myinitial reaction to siting in the ''full sized' flight deck of the A320 was totally mind-blowing... stunning actually... literally spent a few minutes just looking at everything on default settings... simple wonderful... As a member said once, it actually makes you feel high up and enclosed in the real thing... (Ive sat in the real thing and is so close to reality) I tinkered with a few settings in the various programs we have to use (after watching a fair few YouTube…

I just came back from a small break of MSFS 2020 due to some computer issues that are finally fixed. However, when I fly in VR the maps waypoints curve weird before you get to the actual waypoint. Is anyone else having this issue? and if so how do you fly if you are not able to follow the magenta line? I'm probably just over thinking this and will kick myself when you guys share your knowledge with me lol. Anyway, thank in advance for a heads up.

Just logged on and had to download a mandatory update. Now is it my imagination, I have changed no settings but instruments in the cockpit seem a LOT clearer in VR. I did do a windows 11 update at the same time. not complaining !

Guys, my good wife just bought me the HP Reverb G2 as opposed to the Oculus i have now... couple questions ... 1. Do i need to use steam VR with this? (Have MS store version not steam MSFS) or the OPENXR tools are sufficient? 2. Correct in saying that the hand controllers are not essential? Im trolling the net for answers as well...

Anyone found any way to turn down the brightness in Vr? Everything looks really blown out and bloomed. Disabling bloom does nothing. Right now it’s the only negative at all for me with this sim in vr. No other sims have this issue for me.

HI guys, Ive had some good comments before about VR (coming form TrackIR) and now that i understand my wife's Oculus Quest 2 will run VR in MSFS, im ready to give it a go... Having said that, forgive my total noob questions... She does have a cable that comes from the Oculus to a USB-C... where does this get plugged into? The graphics card? Not sure even after hunting YouTube... Is there any software needed as well? Ive watched a few YouTube videos and it can seem a little overwhelming to be honest... I think i just need a real simply step by step tutorial to try and get this up and running as would love to give it a try... Thanks guys for any help! …

As the topic suggests, anyone in here successfully using some form of VR gloves rather than the normal VR hand controllers or the mouse? Would be so nice being able to use your own hands and fingers to manipulate things in the cockpit rather than using the rather clumsy VR hand controllers. Or the mouse for that matter. Which IMO takes away quite a bit of the immersion. To me being able to use your hands as you would in the real cockpit, that will be the next big step in VR immersion!

This whole open beta testing and hotfix is a bit of a joke... Why have Asobo neglected to fix this obvious Tool Bar window error in VR... There has been enough talked about it over the FS Forum. This Sim is fantastic in so many ways in VR but Asobo continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Frustrating VR User Andrew

I've installed the toolkit, when I'm in VR (using a Varjo Aero headset) a prompt pops up to press CTL+F2 to bring up the toolkit, I preposition my fingers to be ready before VR mode. The menu pops up, with 11 secs to do something before it exits - but the mouse in the VR cockpit can't interact with it. It gives some keystrokes that should move the cursor, but they don't seem to work, and I really need to take the headset off to use the keyboard. If I leave it in VR and take the headset off, I can see the openxr menus on the Aero base software window, on a second screen, but the mouse is trapped within the VR screens, and navigating via the suggested key commands…

For me, the purchase of expensive add-ons is extra dangerous nowadays due to the risk of the VC being too small or large in perception, poor implementation of mouse interaction and so on. Has anyone already tried one of these in VR ? Thanks Antoine

Basically, I have gone from "I'll place an order in 2 weeks time when the G2 is back in stock at the HP Store" to "I'll wait for the next gen of someone else's headset" in a space of 48 hours. After all the hype of the Version2 of the Gen2 coming in at the same price as the Version1, they have actually hiked it up from around £550 in stock in the store only last week to a quoted £903.22! As it was going to be an upgrade from my Gen 1, £500ish was already going to be a marginal decision. If it's heading towards £1k, I may as well just wait for an affordable wider FOV to come onto the market. It's also exceptionally irritating that in advertisements -…

I have a strange issue where it takes a bit for my frame rate to reach its peak. For the first few minutes it will fluctuate rapidly between 10-25 or so. I can see my GPU core usage also fluctuate up and down significantly during this time…usually between 15% - 80%. Sometimes re-entering VR solves the problem, but not always. Sometimes exiting to the main menu and starting a new flight fixes the problem, but not always. I find the more consistent solution is to just…wait. Eventually my GPU core usage steadies at 90-100% and in turn, my framerate shoots up to a consistent 30+ This is with a G2 headset, 3080, 3700x. Running 80% FSR, 125% OpenXR, 100% In game. I h…

Hi I've logged this on the Zendesk and also the FS Forum but the 'VR Toolbar' issue (that got us VR users pulling our hair out last year) seems to be partly back. It appears to be affecting a number of aircraft, not least the new JF BAe146 - but I have replicated it on other aircraft. It is a bug in the base MSFS program. Symptom While in VR, and with the Toolbar open, you hover the VR mouse over a switch, button or knob and it lights up blue, but won't press, toggle or twist Which switches does it affect? Seems to depend on the aircraft. For the 146, so far as I have found to date, it is the captain's FD toggle, the ILS frequency knobs and…

Hi, before buying, do you have Gee Bee from Carendo which appeared along with the SU9? How it looks in VR? It has very small canopy, Im affraid that you will see "glass wall" on each site in VR. How looks the view here in the cockpit from the pilot's position? Is it OK? TY!

Wow. I don't even know what to say after experiencing this HMD. My company does VR for people with disabilities so I am able to get my hands on some top level HMDs and hardware, and I was fortunate enough to hook this up to my 5900x/3090. I am a bit speechless. I am literally without words. I put the Oculus on 5 or 6 years ago and was taken back by the immersion, but the screen door, poor performance and love for OLED displays made me set it aside quickly. The lack of clarity wore me down with in five or ten minutes, but the 3D feeling was impactful. I got a G2 about 18 months ago and I tried. I wanted to love VR, but again, it wore me down. The god rays, the swe…
