Borrowed one for a week. I have a decent PC set up, 32MB Ram, MSI 3080rtx, Intel 12700K. I see videos on utube saying how great it looks, tried to emulate the settings shown, tried VR Flight Sim Guys settings , have tried 72/80/90/120Hz, but whatever I do its quite jerky if you look out of the side windows. Straight ahead isn't too bad, but I would not say the graphics are "great". As I only have it for a week (and out at work all day) I don't want to spend ages tweaking dozens of settings. Are there any Key settings any one can suggest I should use to get smoothness? Is there a recent utube link any one can suggest, as most seem to be a year old. It …

Borrowed one for a few days, installed the OpenXR and it worked fine. However switched back to 2D mode and now when click switch to VR says Error no headset detected. Have rebooted several times, the Oculus app says its connected. Any ideas out there? Driving me insane! Connected by a cable and linked to wi fi, said no to the allow data question

If so can you let me know what motherboard you’re using? I was using a Msi Mag Tomahawk B550 and it was giving me a black screen, audio static noise and then crashing. I tried all the fixes..Bios update, changing pci-e to V.3.0,, internal and external usb add on and trying all the different usb’s. Nothing worked and the Rift S would disconnect at some time during every flight. I’m looking to see what B550 boards are working now with the Rift S. I’ve sent the Msi board back. I know the Rift S is ok as it will run on a friends A320 board. cheers.

Hi guys, so I had to return my Reverb G2 since it literally just did not work with my face/head to sit comfortably at all. I have a friend coming over later today with his Oculus 2 for me to try out and wanted to see what I need to do in order for it to talk with the sim. Is it as simple as installing whatever Oculus software and activating VR mode on the sim? The G2 was pretty easy with the V2 version just turn it on and then load the sim and go, but I uninstalled all the OpenXR etc stuff after sending the G2 back so I don't know if I need any of that back.

i7-9700K 32GB/RTX 3060Ti SteamVR/OpenXR Reverb G2 I finally got things working just the way I want and am very pleased with images/immersion. But, in the cockpit when I rotate my head (in vertical or horizontal axis) the entire instrument panel seems to "vibrate" when I initially move my head. The strong vertical or horizontal lines seem to move a mm or so back an forth and then stabilize. The effect is quite disturbing and almost makes me queasy. This started with a flight today in which I believe I had made NO changes to any sim parameters. I have stopped and restarted the sim several times but there is always that vibration of straight lines or even the…

Hi, I'm using OVR Toolkit in simulator mode to show several windows (mainly Little Navmap and a VATSIM client) in VR. While I like the features OVR Toolkit provides, I can't find a convenient way to activate the windows and interact with them. Head gaze is the only working solution I found, but I don't like to move the mouse cursor with my head. Does anybody know an alternative way to activate the windows?

Not sure if it's just me but it looks like some optimization has been done to VR in WU7. Not to mention the outstanding work done on one of my favorite countries but the graininess and smoothness of the sim in VR seems to have improved. That being said more is needed but it looks like Asobo is improving VR as we go along.

After Dullon started that vr praise thread in MSFS forum it got me back into VR and killed my 2d enjoyment. Have the G2, but really intrested in this Arjo thing. So anyone have it, is it worth it, and what kind of setup is needed to run it. How much better is it compared to G2. Ordered a new computer, I9 12900kf, gtx 3080ti, would this one be sufficent to get the benefit of the Arjo...

All, I'm wondering does the video card make all the difference with the HP Reverb G2. I've been looking at an alternative to what I have although mine looks to be pretty good when looking at what's recommended.

A big hit of immersion for me comes from the camera effects. Previously ezdock and now fs2020 has it natively with a headset on this camera effect is not possible I love VR but loosing the camera effects of head movement being affected by in game g forces almost negates VR immersion for me. anyone agree? i think to implement such a camera effect in Vr would induce motion sickness

OK, you can see what hardware I have as my system in my signature. Some additional info: I use Virtual Desktop now rather than AirLink. I was never able to get clarity in the cockpit and stop stuttering on the ground with AirLink. Here is the issue I opened this thread for: I can get clarity in the cockpit by setting SteamVR settings and in-sim settings, but once I have clarity in the cockpit, I start to have overall latency numbers in the 70's and 80's. If I start lowering settings to bring down the overall latency, I start losing all the clarity I just got. The high latency I am getting is all from the sim. In other words, when I look at the SteamVR performanc…

MSFS used to run on my Oculus Quest 2. Now it will not. When initializing VR (Control Tab) it says "No headset detected". I post image that the oculus app shows the Quest 2 is ACTIVE and CONNECTED. I also post what it says in the registry key for active runtime. What else could possibly be wrong that MSFS works fine in 2D but won't open in VR?

This is from a thread on msfs forums right now, its a mod that adds 10-15fps. Currently only works for WMR headsets like G2 but the modder (mbucchia) is working on a SteamVR fix. It adds Nvidia NIS. https://github.com/mbucchia/XR_APILAYER_NOVENDOR_nis_scaler/releases/tag/alpha-2

Hi been reading up on oculus as a mate of mine was going to come over at the weekend with his son and try out his occulus quest 2 with a link cable. However I read on various sites including occulus that it’s not compatible with windows 11??? Is this right or has anyone got it working. May have to postpone as don’t want them to have a wasted journey 🥲

I've been flying the latest version ( 1.6.6 ) for the last couple of days and having a blast. The VR cockpit is now much improved along with the handling and AP. However, an ILS approach on AP will get you down to minimums but no autoland. In addition I couldn't edit the flight plan in the FMS but it did a reasonable job with LNAV, with just a slight lateral oscillation between waypoints. If your'e craving the old school feel of the wide aspect ratio 737 windows, this might get you through until PMDG delivers ( although I much preferred the iFly 737 in Fs2004 and FSX ) .

Yesterday, I got a Quest 2 and was blown away by it. I was wondering if there are any recommended software addons that help with the VR experience. For instance, the in-game iPad from Sky4sim might be very useful to view charts and METARs, but does it work with the Quest 2? And what about the Navigraph in-game chart viewer, does it have similar functionalities? There might be more useful software. I could imagine a tool that lets you more easily interact with switches and buttons, or let's you find your mouse; or an in-game keyboard, or ... Please let me know of anything you found useful for the VR experience. Thanks, Peter

As much as I like MSFS2020 in VR it has to be said that after performing a fesh install it becomes apparent that the setup process for VR is ridiculous. Skipping the various software installations, here is a summary of tweaks and setting that is currently recommended. 1) Process Lasso (why the heck windows doesn't do this by default?) 2) Pimax Pitool various settings (or what ever headset you have) 3) Nvidia control panel settings 4) Steam VR settings 5) NIS shader settings 6) MSFS render / antialising settings When you take a step back and consider the infinate mixture of different settings you can have and trying to …

Any of you still using the RTX2060 Super what are your opinions on best headset and optimal res? I'm thinking of picking one up (i swear honey, just THINKING) and don't see anyone asking this particular question of late at least. Thank you for your help! (Any testimonials that my loving wife should read are of course doubly appreciated and may yield donations depending upon creativity and overall impact 🙂 ).

From the Official Forums (which I can't respond too since I was banned for having an opinion on slack Updates...) it states this: [WMR] A new runtime (104.2012.9003) for Windows Mixed Reality headsets will be available on December 22nd. Please make sure you update to the latest runtime before running the sim in VR. I keep checking but there's been no Updates like this the past few days, yesterday or today and there's no information on it from a Google search 🤔

Hi folks. I have just finally gotten my VR environment to be fairly acceptable to use. Still a lot of flickering/shimmering, but at least its to a level I think I can tolerate. My question concerns the use of controllers while in VR. The yoke is easy to find without having to look at it but other things on the yoke like the buttons, and the bravo switches, etc. are hard to find blind. So I would like opinions as to how you actually operate the plane in VR? What things do you do within the cockpit using controllers, and what things do you do from external controllers? Thanks in advance for your guidance. Rob

Hi all. The title is because I thought rather than starting a bunch of new threads with one question each, I would just ask several questions in one thread. My setup for VR is a Quest 2, connected via Air Link. So ......... here goes: 1. Does the Oculus Tray Tool work with Airlink wireless? 2. Does the Oculus Debug Tool work with Airlink wireless? 3. I keep reading about the NIS Scaling tool and I have it installed but I can't see any difference when I try to enable it. Does it work with wireless? Guidance on how to use it with Airlink and a Quest 2 would be greatly appreciated. 4. I have used the Quest 2 controllers in the cockpit in VR wi…

Hi everyone. Let me first let you know that I am running an Intel i9-10900, an ASUS 3090, 64GB of 3200 memory, and a pair of M.2 Samsung drives. My headset is an Oculus Quest 2. I have prescription lenses in my Quest and everything other than the flight simulator is crystal clear (so I know my lenses are good). I have watched numerous videos on YouTube and tried all kinds of settings. I watch these videos and the images they are portraying look beautiful, especially the cockpit views. All the screens look clear. That is not the the result I am getting and I don't know what guidance to follow at this point. It seems no matter how I set things up (SIM settings, O…

Hi, still waiting for my new PC with a Msi Nvidia Geforce Ventus 3x RTX 3080 , but when it arrives hopefully in a few weeks I am tempted to move into VR. I have a fairly small room so need to be sat down not moving around in a large room. From what I read the HP G2 would be a good model to go for? However is there an idiots guide that anyone has written or a video anywhere to set this up in MSFC 2020? Am I going to have to install all sorts of software , mess around configuring loads of settings? I've been away from fsx for about 2 years now, and I used to spend more time changing settings than actually flying. Cheers
