Hi everyone. Believe me I know there is no magic bullet for configuring Windows, Oculus app, Oculus Tray Tool, and MSFS for VR performance. I know it takes time and patience to get the right combination of options to achieve satisfactory performance. I have read dozens of forum threads and have watched dozens of YouTube videos about it; but I am just not getting anywhere. Let me tell you what I am working with: Intel i9-10900 overclocked toi 5.2ghz Asus GEFORCE RTX 3090 32GB of 3200 RAM 2 M.2 drives and 4 SATA SSD's Oculus Quest 2 Game Mode OFF, HAPS OFF, MSFS .exe file set to HIGH priority, Nvidia Control Panel settings set …

No CTD, but recently I've been getting screen freezes where the image freezes and the whole image moves with the headset. If you ever get one it's instant nausea so instant headset removal. I've always exited at this point so never checked to see if it comes back or not. I thought this might be tied to high cpu/gpu temps as I recently changed my smart fan profile in the bios due to excessive noise. I switched it back this morning but had another freeze after about an hour. I'm still suspicious of the temps so is there any way to monitor them in VR ?

For me that means taking the pressure off my big nose. These 3 items will each take maybe 30% of the pressure off : 1 AMVR Back Padding (VR Caludron tested replacement headstraps, Elite etc. and he and Jess both said this pad does more for comfort than any replacement headstrap. I agree it is mega comfortable. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V4L2GHV/ 2 A battery held to the back of strap with velcro strips. I use this battery (VR Cauldron recommended), and two of these velcro strips, and this USB wire to run from battery to headset (because Amazon reviewer said the wire works really well on Oculus 2) https://www.a…

Has anyone noticed any inaccuracies compared to the region your familiar with? I flew around my neighborhood (Zürich City Limits CH) which has 2 distinguishable residence towers of about 20 stories, and in the sim they are 1 story houses. Yet in bing maps the towers are there. So either my update has an error or the data is not fully encompassed. It seems building height data is hit and miss with some other areas that are seemingly rather low height.

I visited a friend yesterday who has an Oculus 2 running with MFS and I was completely gob smacked by my experience of an hour or two. I suddenly realised why chaps wanted VR support so desperately. However I also realised how it's going to remain a dream for many of us for a long time to come (myself included, I cannot afford the powerful PC required). Previously i'd only used VR briefly on a PS4 boxing game and a racing simulator at a car show and wasn't that impressed either either, but MFS was completely different. Some of my takeaways from the experience, I'd be interested to know how much other people experience these issues and what can be done about them: …

Hi all. I have been working hours every day for about 5 days now reading every article and watching every video about getting good performance in VR with a Quest 2. I finally reached the point where my scenery is not stuttering and the clarity of things seems acceptable. So I moved onto starting the training sessions because I know almost nothing about actual flying LOL. But during those sessions, it seems that you have to keep pushing keys on the keyboard to use the session. Am I missing something? Is there a way to do the training sessions in VR? On a slightly different aspect of the training sessions, I get instructions that will say in order to do something press…

I have a Pimax 8KX and the resolution an clearity is super in MSFS. :) I can clearely read gauges and text, except for one issue, and that is Garmin devices. On for example the G1000NXi, I can clearly read all text and symbology on the LCD screen, but the buttons for com and autopilot are very blurry. At first I thought it might be due to them beeing white text on black keys, and that lightbleed/god rays on the headset made them blurry. But, I can clearly read even smaller characters that are white on black on the LCD display, so that cannot be it. So i'm left puzzeled. Do the textures on the Garmin hardbuttons realy have that low of a resolution comapred to the res…

My specs show why I am disappointed using Quest 2 and MSFS, the fps is very slow when looking to the left out the window and down, you can see the ground 'jumping' along, in other words very slow frame rate. I have tried all he settings in tray tool, and Oculus and WVR. Anyway, I hear Aerofly is way better than MSFS in VR. VRFlightGuy says this is so too in his videos. On eBay Aerofly is under $20 for steam edition. It is $60 on Steam. Has anyone tried the $20 eBay sales? Feedback from purchasers looks good. How it works is this: you pay $20 thru eBay and the seller sets up a Steam account with email account and password of his chosing and sends you th…

After flying happily the past few days and even trying a few add-ons, I just had a sudden struggle with Flight2020 - completely out of the blue: VR performance (Reverb G1) was way, way down while CPU was lingering at only 30% in VR, when CTRL+tabbing out of VR it could not initialize VR again (error message). Troubleshooting this for hours, I soon noticed that the OpenXR Developer Tools app was updated automatically today (don't ask) and the "System Status" tab in the app complained about an "unknown runtime" version. I checked the updates in the MS Store again and still, the OXR DT f. WMA was the only updated app, the OXR runtime was not updated. I finally reali…

Hi everyone. I have a very powerful PC with the fastest Intel CPU and a 3090 overclocked GPU, etc, etc. I have a Quest 2 headset. I can use Oculus Link, Virtual Desktop, or AirLink to play any of my Oculus games on PC or any of my Steam PCVR games quite well, EXCEPT for MSFS. I have been struggling terribly to get a good configuration for using the Quest 2 with MSFS. I have watched numerous YouTube videos where people seem to be having great results with PC's even less powerful than mine. I have configured my system(s) following numerous articles without success. For example, one article says turn Game Mode on and HAPS on and another article/video says turn the…

Hi. When using Oculus Quest 2, does it make any difference tweaking the LOD settings in UserCFG.opt. I noticed there is a "Graphics" setting and a "GraphicsVR" setting. Do I amend both?

When I move my mouse in VR the cursor annoyingly freezes a lot. I move the mouse, the cursor moves, but stops moving while I am still moving the mouse (without coincidently opening another window, which also can be a problem). Is this a know problem? Maybe a problem because of running in Windowed Mode? I don't have this mouse behaviour in 2D windowed mode.

It could help to increase saturation of colours and sharpens in VR mode for MSFS but as I noticed its a problem to install it to MSFS folder (MS store version): 1/ the folder itself is locked. I was able to add to a user and now I have access but... 2/ cant put any file here - I recived info about not "free space" 😄 for this 3Mb. Btw. here are Reshade files: https://github.com/fholger/reshade/releases/tag/openvr_alpha2 This can be a nice solution for image sharpness in MSFS but there is a problem with the installation. I use it in DCS with VERY good result.

For me it is so, inside of the 320 and 787 you can notice clearly, or to go to a rear window and how big it is more than a real small cabin window. And I think in VR we could gain quality and definition. I could not take the throttle and the front wheel control because the big distance between them haha, that is my case.

I use the Navigraph Toolbar addon and an pdf toolbar addon. Since SU5 they are barely readable because of jagging/shimmer/aliasing. Does anyone know of a workaround/solutions for this?

I'm new to VR with brand new Reverb G2. Following CptLucky8 advice on official MFS2020 forums I managed to configure my system based on 3070, to display 25-30 FPS with repojection in OpenXR "preview runtime". The picture is a bit choppy, especially when looking thorugh the side windows, but this is not my biggest issue. The sweet spot in G2 is dissapointing to me. I find myself constantly correcting the placement of my headset vs. my head/eyes. While the C172 steam gauges cockpit looks decent (I'm RW pilot so flying VFR I glance mostly on the airspeed indicator), the scenery is dissapointing. On my monitor (1920x1080) I can see crisp scenery, buidlings etc. In VR the…

Hello, I am trying to increase the LOD value without any visual effect. I have tried both Terrain Level of Detail and Objects Level of Detail, moved the sliders down to 20 and back up to 200 and still the trees end maybe 1 or 2 miles away from me. I have also tried to edit the Uercfg file by changing the LOD value to 2 or 4 or 6 without any change in the game, it is like it is stuck on one setting and it cannot be changed. It does change when flying on monitor but not in VR. I am definitely changing the settings under VR and not PC Any help on this matter would be great. Thanks, Bart Cpu 8700 OC to 4.7, water coole…

I see, that with reprojection MSFS runs only at 30 FPS .... but without (so OFF) I have 51-58 FPS so why with refresh rate on 90Hz I dont see 45 FPS on reprojection auto? Is it blocked to 30 FPS only? Do you know something about it and how to force it to 45?

The below pre-built gaming PC is $750 off for today only, but I don't know how the specs weigh up for running VR: Skytech Shiva AMD Ryzen 5 5600X RTX 3080 16 GB DDR4 3200 1 TB SSD - B550M 750W Gold PSU AC WiFi Windows 10 Home Can anyone tell me if it's powerful enough? If so, I'm super tempted to order. Thanks!

Hi, I'm (again) trying my luck in VR with my Quest 2 but am not too happy with the results yet. I've found few recommended setting, eg. setting ASW mode to 30 in OTT. SOme even suggest to turn up everything to ultra, wghicj won't work for me. One thing I am not sure with SU5 is - do we even need anyadditional programs? Further, Whenever I turn on VR, Steam Vr fires on too and I am not sure if it interferes with some of the other settings. As AMD Radeon users are not too common in VR, maybe you could help me find suitable settings for my rig? See Specs below Thank you!
