Hi. Is it possible to go through the initial setup without controllers? I have no intention of using them and it’s cheaper if you purchase without. Thanks for any help.

Direct from Hewlett Packard on eBay. eBay has good protections. Also, each seller has their own return policy in the 'shipping and payments' tab. HP has 30 day trial for returns. And they (not you) pay the shipping back. No shipping charges for purchase, but State sales tax is added on. Shipped by Fedex Express Saver. It's the standard price of $599 but risks of getting zonked is probably low. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Reverb-G2-Virtual-Reality-Headset/154337729592

For some reason after the update, using my Oculus Rift S, I have lost my mouse in the VR setting. If I lift up my headset, I can see the mouse moving on the monitor, but I cannot see the mouse while in the headset. Had no problem before the update, but can't figure out now why I can't find it. Any suggestions?? Thanks Rodger

I tried flying the Cessna 172; got it started up and ready to go (simply beautiful). I get a freeze, then it starts up again, then another freeze. After rebooting, I get the same thing, but this last time the freeze stays frozen. What the hell is happening. I updated all relevant drivers including the Nvidia 3080 graphics card driver.

Just to start off I'm 79 and not super computer savvy. I have a new Alienware computer, a new Quest 2, and MSFS 2020. I've downloaded the Oculus App on my computer and I finally got my computer to recognize the Quest 2. But when I try to use the Quest with MSFS it doesn't work. My computer screen splits to 2 screens like it should but I don't see anything in my Quest other Guardian set up. I get a message on the Quest that I'm trying to use a program that Oculus doesn't recognize. And that's as far as I have gotten. I would really appreciate any suggestions of what I should try to do it fix this. Thanks very much, Gary

This evening, after installing the update this morning, I started a flight in the a32nx. When turning on the batteries and the external power, I noticed there were no lights on any panel screens, not even after turning up the brighten knobs. I did this procedure 3 or 4 times, getting the same results. Is there a startup step I am missing with this latest update? Those panels always lit up after the batteries were turned on; I would then brighten them up with a knob adjustment.

As much as I love VR. i cannot fly Glass Cockpits anymore because I find them such a strain to read and basically unreadable, which is a shame because I mainly fly GA. At the moment I find the Cessna C152 or the CJ4 the most acceptable. I have scoured multiple tutorials, but it seems we going to have to live with what we have until technology improves. Unless any one knows some magic for my Oculus Quest 2. Hey Ho

Hello, I observe that REX Weather Force (last update) is not working with VR, it injects dynamic weather preset normally (monitor) but after starting VR the weather back to clear again. The default MSFS weather presets are working fine in VR. Has anyone using VR and REX WX Force noticed that? Thanks,

Hi guys, I'm a msfs newbie but have been around in vr for 4 years. I've a rift s, 9700k, 2080super. Is it possible to force steam vr instead of oculus api in msfs? I'd like to increase cockpit size and steam vr gives me this option. Does openxr have any effect on the oculus rift S? Or is it only applicable on g2 or vice? Thanks for your time! Cheers Jozeff

Hello, I'm trying to VR with an Oculus Rift S, but I have a lot of technical issues. For one the cockpit textures are very blurry, the airspeed and altitude and button labels are complletely illegible. I tried setting textures to ultra in the settings but that hasn't helped any. Secondly the sound and visuals are constantly flashing and glitching around. I read in another thread for another headset to turn off beta in Occulus monu but sadly for the Rift S keeping the option on is the only way FS will recognise it.

Hi. I have bought the above VR Headset about 5 days ago, and all was fine in MSFS 2020 (Apart from dismal focus compared to 2D). Now all of the sudden I am getting a flashing effect which looks like it alternating between Top Down view and Cockpit view. and thus making it totally unplayable. Any help would be much appreciated.........Windows 10, Intel Core I9, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 65 ram

For other Flight Sims what's everyone's process for getting Apps and other Programs to show up in VR when using WMR? I've got OnAir & Little NavMap that I'm using constantly so would need these to be available via an Overlay, the last thing I need is to be constantly taking On/Off the HMD, I'll need everything in VR there in the Cockpit ready to go from Day One (if possible). Thanks

Oculus Quest 2 looks likely to be updated with a 120Hz refresh rate, according to comments made by the Vice President of Facebook Reality Labs. During a Q&A session on Instagram, Andrew 'Boz' Bosworth responded with a literal ‘thumbs up’ to a question about whether Quest 2 would see an update to 120Hz, and touched on a number of other topics relating to VR. The faster the refresh rate in a VR headset, the smoother the virtual world it creates, and so 120Hz marks a dramatic improvement on the 72Hz refresh rate the Quest 2 originally launched with (before being updated with support for 90Hz in November 2020). https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/oculus-quest-2-will-be…

As the screenshots will show, I am getting 50 FPS over the country, and 30 FPS over cities in VR. I also have a screenshot of my graphics settings in VR. Note I have clicked oculus developer/demo mode on as I saw on a youtube vid that it will help with the flashes. https://photos.app.goo.gl/vYh933xwQt3S4SD39 My specs: Processor Intel® Core™ i9-9900K Processor (8x 3.60GHz/16MB L3 Cache) Processor Cooling iBUYPOWER 120mm Addressable RGB Liq…

Hi all. I'm confused whether it's best to use the Oculus app or SteamVR. I am not that tech savvy on these things and I only use MSFS and I have the Quest 2. Are the any benifits from either using Oculus or Steam, and as I understand it, you should only use one or the other and not both. Is this true. Thanks

Is there a way to make the head movement more sensitive? I mean: turning the head 20 degrees IRL translates into an almost 1:1 movement in game, which is fine, in theory, but due to the small FOV of the headsets, to see the wing out of the side windows in some planes, or look at the tail, you need to rotate your whole body, which is unnatural.

So I gave up on my my surround sound speakers and figured I would follow the crowd with the headphones. So I purchased Dolby Atmos and everything seems ok until Windows Mixed Reality launches and it switches over to Windows Sonic and I can't stop it. I think I'm loosing my mind (again) then find this on a Microsoft page. "Windows Mixed Reality environments and its apps use Windows Sonic for Headphones spatial audio technology, which is customized for mixed reality experiences. Other spatial audio technologies, like Dolby Atmos for Headphones, can be applied for full screen apps like SteamVR games but not for the Windows Mixed Reality shell environments and apps (su…

Good morning, So every time I think I have my problems with 5.1 surround sound resolved, it seems to crop up again. The good news is that I definitely have 5.1 audio coming from MSFS 2020 and it sounds freakn fantastic. BUT, as soon as windows mixed reality launches when I switch over to VR, my audio switches over to 2.1 audio and I loose the surround sound in my speakers. I do have the option in WMR to not switch audio over to the headset checked in but that does not stop the program from turning off 5.1 audio even though the audio is coming from my 5.1 speaker set up. I tried searching the internet and it seems that the common answer is to use headphones which is no…

CptLucky8 is very soon going to post on the official MFS2020 forum his recommedations from HP Reverb G2 and nVidia GPU. He posted already for Valve Index, it's wery comprehensive, full of details. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/my-2070-super-vr-settings-and-suggestions-valve-index/321913 I expect the same quality for G2. Following CptLukcy8 advice I resolved the heavy issue with my G2 stuttering badly with my 3070 (relatively powerful) GPU. I was close to give up and sell my brand new G2 (to expensive as a toy for Beat Saber only). But now - it works acceptably in MFS2020, good enough to enjoy a VFR flight! You will benefit most waiting for CptLu…

I hope Asobo includes an adjustment for "world scale" in VR. I have seen many VR implementations where the cockpit (or environment) appears "too big" or "too small" to some users. I am not talking about the IPD setting. I am talking about a setting which effects the preception of depth and size, and this can be different for every user and headset combination. FlyInside provides this feature and it works very well. P3D and XP do not have this feature, and the Cessna cockpit sometimes appears too small to some, and too large to others.

Hello everybody, I think i'm missing something. Here's my system: CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X @4300Mhz GPU: RTX 2080 Ti RAM: 32GB HyperX Predator @3333Mhz CL16 Not a monster, but not trash, i think (?) When i read some posts in forums or watch youtube videos about MSFS2020 in VR, i read/hear the word "SMOOTH"... And this just makes me laugh. I wanted to follow some guide (i don't want to name names) on some very famous youtuber channel about MSFS in VR. I set up the OpenXR registry "hack" to make use of Oculus api JSON. I setup OpenXR @70% rendering as suggested. Everything else is default. (and anyways any setting here seems to make no difference). In Oc…
