I think only 12GB in the new 3080 ti is much poor in FS2020 and in VR?, I have a 2080 ti 11GB and always the card is maxed out in VRAM and VR, I think the start point would be maybe 18GB of VRAM. I remember reading some 3090 user with approx. 17GB of VRAM used in FS2020, and less than that probably is a stutter fountain, at least I think I watch that in the 2080 ti, when reach the max about 10.5 VRAM.

I've had my reverb G2 for about a week now. I'm getting reasonable performance with the stock A320 , at least enough to prevent me returning to a 2D panel. I have just about 30-35 fps on the ground at larger airports and over large cities such as Tokyo. I have scaling at 100% in the openXR settings and render scaling at 80% in the sim and am using recommended graphics settings of mostly medium. I personally find the cockpit quality of the A320 to be very good and was wondering the quality of the Aerosoft CRJ cockpit in comparison and whether I would be able to match the same performance figures of the A320. Currently using the Nvidia driver 457.3 as this seems to give me…

Weird I know. This is being discussed on that other board right now. I tried it, expecting nothing. Set TAA render resolution at 200 (yes 200) for the 2D panel (for me up from 100). Leave VR TAA at 100 and OpenXR at 100 (where I had it). Fly in VR. Clarity is noticeably better. For me the G3X in the xcub was a clear improvement, as were the ESC menus in VR. Not degradation in repro or frames (qualitative). Makes no sense, I know. At least try it before you flame me. 10900k, 3090, 4k panel (2D), G2 (via WMR / OpenXR). v107 OpenXR a couple days ago, so it wasn't that.

I have a repeatable CTD when flying the TBM 9, while in VR , and pressing autopilot buttons such as master AP on/off, VS, or HDG select. I can roll the alt select knob just fine, or adjust VS wheel up/ down, but then pressing AP master or other BUTTONS on the AP panel, the sim crashes. It doesnt just freeze or go to home menu, rather, the sim completely stops running - hardcore CTD. Anyone else? I still use the Oculus rift CV1. And I’m posting because I’ve experienced this issue for several months and hoping w each update it gets fixed. But it persists...It just happened again yesterday on the latest MSFS version. Any suggestions or similar experience…

I know to some this will appear a bonkers idea, but to me it makes sense. I've tried every possible combination of settings for my Quest 2 and I am underwhelmed. Even at highest settings the image is fuzzy, washed out, too little FOV, flakey, sub-standard and frankly a pain. So instead I am trying to set up the quest to deliver a 2D image with heading tracking. It won't let me do it! On my 32 inch monitor I am getting a fantastic image - clean, beautiful, crisp and with a great frame rate despite "only" having a 1080TI GPU. It occured to me that if I could get the Quest to behave in 2d I could get the same great image but immersed inside the headset with proper…

Hi, I just did the latest update and while in the sim, it said my bandwidth was not enough and was switching to offline mode. I noticed my scenery changed drastically even though none of the graphics settings were changed. Is this because it went to offline mode? I checked my bandwidth and it's at 44MB per second, which should be more than enough. The scenery looks nothing like it did before. Is there a setting to switch back to online mode? I'm assuming some or all of the scenery is streamed and now it's not. I looked but couldn't find anything. Thanks for any help you can possibly give me. Best regards, Hans Groenewold

After the sim update last week, I started to get consistent crashes to the desktop when flying to or from Burbank (KBUR) airport in VR. I have tried it in non VR and it is not crashing but as soon as I enable VR it crashes. I have not had this issue at any other airport. I am using an Oculus Rift headset. Could someone else try it and see if they see the same behavior? If its repeatable then it may be a sim issue and not an issue with my machine.

When I sit for example in the Cessna 152, the cockpit looks so tiny and also the runways look too short. Is there a way to adjust the scale?

Is it possible to save a first VR setting and then try a different setting while not losing your 1st setting? I found that there are many different settings for VR msfs2020; and I want to try most of them and choose the one that is best for my hardware setting (Zen 2 AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT-MB, RTX 3080, 32 gb of ram)

Turning off recon lights gets me an additional 3 FPS consistently on the ground and in the air flying the Seminole in VR. Turning all the lights off nets an additional 2-3FPS for a total gain of 5FPS. Doesn't seem like much but it keeps me above 30FPS which is my personal limit for good VR

I have been using Reverb G2 for a number of months without issues. But now, when I opt into VR in MSFS, I endlessly go in and out of VR. Switches in and out every two seconds or so. I do not have this problem with other applications. DCS for example works fine. Only MSFS is doing this annoying activity. Anyone know what is wrong? Thanks. Michael

Some of you probably know the following, but if you don’t, you may find what’s below very useful. If you ever want to show your friends, relatives, children, better half or worse half what VR is all about and what it feels like, there is a very easy way to demonstrate how amazing it is. Simply record your flight with this free flight recorder, and then replay it while your guests are wearing the VR headset. All you need to do is load MSFS, start it in any airport and have engines running in the same airplane/heli when the recording was made. No need to touch any controls, they can simply sit and enjoy the flight in full glorious VR and they can also look around …

I find it very hard to line up the cursor on buttons and dials, also I've never seen a co-pilot either in pancake mode or VR. Any help would be much appreciated. BTW Great plane to fly in VR 🙂

With reprojection off or on, with my setup, there's about double or triple the input lag (mouse / joystick / hotas etc) when in MSFS VR mode, compared to 2d mode. However, latency is as low as 2d mode when using WMR Portal or games like Project Cars 2 in VR with both the Quest 1 and G2. It sounds like splitting hairs, and probably is for plane flying, but it's making heli flying a little trickier than it needs to be. Is anyone else seeing this? Just curious to know if anyone else notices it.

Does it matter what you start up first, Oculus software or MSFS 2020 including the Debug Tool ?

I see in real life that the height of a C172 is 8'11" or 2.72 m. In VR when I stand next to the plane my 5' 7" is taller than the aircraft. Do I have a wrong setting somewhere. Because surely I'm getting a false sense of height when landing.

Hi all, After installing Indiafoxtecho-MB-339 into MSFS 220, the bird flies beautifully, but: VOR/ILS frequency shows 110.50 and cannot be changed on the two dial-in knobs. Heading and Course selector don't work at all. Could anyone please help me finding the cause?? Regards, Satchmo

Let's suppose you are running MSFS in Quest2 VR with no cables connected (such as via air link). 1) How long will the battery in the headset last? 2) Can you also use the official charging cable plugged into a standard house wall socket USB socket while playing MSFS with no video cable? 3) If so, does this extend the batter life before you have to stop using the Quest 2 and recharge? 4) Can you swap batteries easily in and out of the headset? 5) If so, how expensive are another set of batteries? Thanks! I would be interested in a reply even if you only know the answer to one of the above, off the top of your head ! Or if you know th…
