  1. Just a quick heads up for anyone who hasn’t got wind of this dandy little tool yet... "Flight Recorder" was released on Feb. 17th with a minor update just today. With an interface as simple and clean as its unassuming name - it records live flight data and replays your flight from start to finish in both 2D AND IN VR - with flawless perfection on my Oculus Rift S. Haven't tried it in my Reverb G2 yet so I can't attest to it working there, but based on how I believe it records and replays data I don't think it'd be an issue. Mind you, the UI control panel DOES NOT appear in VR however, but I don’t mind a bit tilting my Headset up for a few seconds if I need to ac…

I have to ask, having never ever used VR before, is the MSFS version really a good implementation of VR? I’ve read conflicting things. I run top of the end hardware. I’ve tried lots of VR games now and they work great. When it comes to MSFS, the initial ‘wow’ I’m in a cockpit moment has gone. Now I’m left with tuning. Tweaking. I have not had to do that with any other VR game. Granted they’re not generating the whole world, but even so, they still appear to be better ‘polished’. Using a G2 with a 3090 and i9900KS, I am hoping that Asobo perform Some black magic in the next few sim updates. Not a complaint, more of an observation. Still persevering with VR. …

  5. It's not a big deal, just a little inconvenient having to change it every launch. Just curious if anyone else experiences this?

  6. Started by Paulcoy,

I need some clarification on this. I have read in different forums, saying that there is no point using this with MSFS 2020, because of the the way the MSFS exe is programed. Is this true ?

Hi. This is a Newbie question. To run MSFS in VR, do I need both Oculus App and Steam VR running or just one or the other. I am using The Oculus Quest 2 with a link cable

Hi, German site Computerbase did a review on the VR mode of MSFS. tldr:; verdict: MS made a bad job with the VR implementation but wth the hardware generation after the next generation we may have the proper equipment unless MS will optimize their engine... https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=de&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.computerbase.de%2F2021-02%2Fmicrosoft-flight-simulator-vr-benchmarks-test%2F

Hello brothers and sisters; I have a question about Vatsim's ATC in VR. I just ordered the HP Reverb G2. Moreover, I am trying to learn Vatsim ATC procedures and verbiage. My question: when ATC gives instructions, I normally right them down and repeat back. However, with the G2 on my face, I can not see the paper or my writing for reading back. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really need to write down ATC instruction to repeat back, but if I can not see anything other than the G2 view, how am I to record and read back?

I am running FS2020 in VR and connected a second monitor to my pc on which I display Little Navmap. I don't mind taking of the headset now and then to use the second monitor, but: when I run in VR, Little Navmap disappears from the second monitor. Is there a way to run the second monitor while also using VR?

So, eventually, my G2 arrived today. I was so excited. To start with, we played some silly rollercoaster games on steam VR and played around in the WMR room. Wow. Few moments of literally falling out of the chair. Amazing stuff. So, once the kids and wife left (the wife with dizziness ha!) it was time to setup MSFS VR! I run a 9900KS water cooled at 5GHz. 3090. 32GB RAM and normally run it at ultra settings at 4K. It’s smooth. And looks stunning. On to VR then, I left open XR and all default settings and loaded the sim. Setup the controls. It had auto reduced my render scale down to 80. So I popped that back up to 100, and then reduced it using open XR …

  15. Not really sure what happened but lately, I have an issue where the view when I'm in VR keeps moving small amounts up/down and left/right even when I keep my head perfectly still. Super annoying and makes it rather uncomfortable to be in VR. This happens regardless what aircraft I'm in or at what location. I'm using an HP Reverb G2, a 3090 and an 8086K @ 5 GHz, 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM. Spent a considerable amount of time a couple of weeks ago fine-tuning everything to be perfectly smooth but still with good visuals. I haven't changed any settings or done any other changes to my setup. So I'm a bit stumped what is causing this. Anyone else seen anything similar? …

  16. Hi, all! Recently completed a high end build, specifically to support MSFS2020 using the Reverb G2. I watched many YT tutorials and eventually got up and running. Kind of. I purchased and downloaded the sim, then downloaded and installed WMR, Steam, SteamVR, and OpenXR. After all that, I was able to have a go in a Cessna 152 for a bit. Beyond fun! Now my issue is I can't recall how I got it all going or from what app I should be launching the sim. Every session seems to require a lot of trial and error before I can have the sim running in the G2 instead of my monitor. The settings in the sim say I switch between the two using CTRL + TAB, but that never works …

When in VR in the cockpit I can change the view with Ctrl - 2 to instrument view, and then with my POV switch between different instrument views. I want to bind a HOTAS X-52 Pro key to Ctrl - 2 but the Controls Page does not allow me so. This way I have to take off my Rift S, press CTRL-2, and put it on again. Annoying... Anyone has a clue how bind this action to a HOTAS button?

  18. For those who might not already know: Oculus Rift S has a well-hidden resolution setting The Oculus Rift S has a fairly hidden setting which changes the headset’s default resolution. The setting does not state the resolution for each choice, but we were able to discover it with some digging. How to find and change it To find the resolution setting for Rift S, open the Oculus app, click “Devices” and then click on “Rift S and Touch”: In the list of settings that appears, scroll down and find “Graphics Preference”: You’ll now see the Graphics Preference panel. This lets you choose between “Quality” and “Performance”: The setting …

  21. Hello, my G2 arrives tomorrow. I managed to get a a refurbished unit from Germany to the U.K. Anyhow, I’ve a quick question, and please forgive my ignorance on this subject as I am brand new to VR. I currently run a 3090 with a i9900KS 5ghz 32gb ram. My monitor is g-sync and 3840x1600, which I renderscale to 110. This gives me 4224x1760. Roughly 7.4 million pixels. Everything on ultra. Works perfect. I am assuming (because I don’t really know, properly) that the G2 runs at 2160x2160 per eye, which equates to 4320x2160, which is roughly 9.3 million pixels? Therefore if I was to renderscale to 90, then it should in theory be 3888x1944 which is rough…
