Noticed that the HP Reverb has a dramatically low ratings on Amazon. Thinking about getting this headset for MSFS but with ratings like that?

  3. Hi all, I have my Graphical Options set up perfectly for Pancake (Flatscreen) Flying, thing is when the VR Update Drops today I will no doubt have to lower & tinker with the settings to get it just right...but I don't want to lose my Pancake settings as I may need them again. I'd prefer not to have to take a screenshot and manually put things back when I switch between the two in the future, so is there a way to Save and then Load Graphical Presets (dragging/dropping files etc? Even a Hack or workaround would suffice, thanks

Hi guys, as the title suggests looking for the first time ever to get into VR just for FS2020. Ive heard once you go VR you'll never go back to a 2D screen. could somebody with VR back that up please. So far my limited knowledge only knows of a company called oculus, don't little research today to find the quest 2 and rift s. would these work great with fs2020? i would love your opinions as to what you guys thing is the best route here. Kind regards

Hi All I'm thinking of ordering an Oculus Quest 2 so I can use it with MSFS 2020 as well as stand alone apps from the Oculus store and steam games on my PC. I have read that a facebook account is needed to set up and log in to the OC2, so I am planning to use my wife's facebook account to do that as I don't have one nor want one. Any advice anyone has on things that I should consider if I go ahead (such as how to best achieve an easy install, any additional hardware / apps I should consider getting, possible facebook issues with my pc/steam accounts would be much appreciated) ! Thanks

So for us non-testers we'll get it in the December Sim Update, according to the Live Stream this will be for all HMDs not solely WMR (Good news all round). Apparently the feedback from testers has been so good they just want to release it too us, lovely

Kind of surprised we haven’t seen reviews of the beta yet. I’ve heard “it’s amazing” but that they are under NDA. That doesn’t end untiL it comes out tomorrow? Has anyone seen anything concrete outside of the asobo preview trailer?

Do you reckon it will be like the MSFS launch? Change your time zone to Kiribati and get a 12 hour jump on the 22nd VR drop?

  11. The HP Reverb G2 started shipping today and I definitely remember Asobo saying that they'd have VR ready in time for G2 release. As far as I know, no one has even started closed beta testing of VR. I guess they're running behind, which is understandable, but they maybe shouldn't have claimed that the G2 shipping (which was delayed anyway) was their hard date to deliver VR. I'm now wondering if we'll see a public VR release at all this year.

I have a problem with the a320 VOR. During the flight he takes a while to enter. Usually the DME appears close to 38mn. Where did I go wrong or is it a bug? Gracias Maraponga..

Hi all, Just wondering if there has been any news about having this feature implemented. I have done a lot of sim racing and to drive without my body or hands would be very odd. I know the other regular VR people here will know how your mind can assume the in game body is your own, it adds so much to immersion. has this been discussed before anywhere?

  14. Since VR for MSFS is coming out this month, the question of getting a VR glasses becomes relevant. Can anyone recommend one and do the recommended PC specs for it match those recommended ones for MSFS itself? Or would it be better to wait till the technique matures more. Thanks

Hi all, After reinstalling MSFS, I have found all default aircraft missing(standard version) save the TBM 930 and Cessna 152. Any Ideas?

  16. Watching vids on using the drone with an Xbox controller but it sounds like the unit should have a set of default assignments when plugged in. Mine is completely blank? Unit is a Logitech version and is recognized in both Windows10 and in MSFS (tested), but no assignments? Any ideas?

Has anyone any information on compatibility drivers for MS2020 with CPFLIGHT hardware and Cockpit for you hardware? I get no response from either manufacturer which means my flying days are over, at least for the time being.

Okay, I've finally caught the MSFS curse and it's broken for me. I'm surprised given what I read it's worked for so long for me without incident. Anyway, I can't get in. I'm getting 'Access to the content servers is currently unavailable. Please ensure you have an active internet connection.." Which I do because here I am. Let the update running overnight, got up to no progress so killed the program in an attempt to try again. but no. Looking at zendeck found this. https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016892819-Access-to-the-content-servers-is-currently-unavailable-error-message Tried this with no luck. 19. So I am hoping the windows VR Beta has gone well and VR is going to be available soon and then I might splurge for a headset.. But my main concern is I use Littlenavmap on a laptop and use it for navigatioin... If I was using a VR headset I wont be able to see my laptop and I'd be stuck using that horrible vfr map in msfs. So does anyone know can u alt tab in vr and look at another open window or hit the windows key and get to another open desktop to peek LNM? I am thinking that VR is going to really limit the ability to use third party navigation software . Unless removing your headset or peeking over it it is practical? Debating going the larg…

  20. https://www.flightsimulator.com/instructions-for-launching-vr/ Before you can access VR mode in Microsoft Flight Simulator, you must: Download and install OpenXR for Windows Mixed Reality from the Microsoft Store. Open the Mixed Reality Portal app On the lower-left corner of the app select See More In the menu that appears select Set Up OpenXR. Doing this will cause the Windows Store to launch from where you can install the runtime. If this menu item does not appear, OpenXR may already be installed on your PC. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator and update the sim to version 1.10.7.0. To access VR mode (currently only available…

Having played A N Other VR game this weekend I was surprised at the poor implementation of VR coming from an AAA Developer, it therefore got me worried that MSF2020s VR implementation may also be lacking, especially as it's something that should've been included with the Original Release.....but that's another story, so here's my List of things that simply are very basic & common but simply *must* be included from Day One: Menus: - Head Pointer; Simple enough, you look around and having Bound a Button on your HOTAS/Controller to "Enter" (for example) you can easily Navigate through the Menus changing settings, selecting Airports on the World Map etc etc. It's the …

  22. My son had xbox game pass so I was able to download it for free. It looks nice but I lost interest in about 10 minutes using it in 2D. Then for kicks i fired up p3dv5 in 2D and same lack of interest. They both look pretty good. It is just not the same without VR...cant go back...lol In fairness, the title looks like it has a good bit of potential. The interface took a bit to get used to, found the control interface a bit clumsy but that could be a familiarity thing too. The lighting is very well done. Something to look forward to

I've never looked into VR before; does anyone know how it will work when you have a yoke? Actually, I have been flight sim for many years and have several pieces of equipment. I don't see how you can use a thing that covers your eyes and use your flight sim equipment together. Can anyone help an older <cough> mature gentleman to understand how the technology works? Thank you in advance, Ed
