The sim works with my Oculus Rift. Despite my low-end PC (i5 6600, GTX 1060) frame rates aren’t too bad even on high-ish settings. However I do have one annoying problem - I can’t move relative to the cockpit. I can rotate my head to look at the scenery - that works fine - but if I shift backwards, forwards, left or right the cockpit simply moves with me. The cockpit also seems juddery and wobbly when I move. If I select an outside camera view there is no problem - because there is no cockpit! The only outside problems I have are occasional distortions of the scenery - and nearby wind turbine blades look bent and rubbery - but I could live with these. To run MSFS I s…

  2. Please, Asobo, if you are reading this, you have to realize that your userbase expects MSFS VR to be at least on par with the other 2 leading sims that had VR available for 2 years. What has made X-Plane VR great is the fact that you can interact with all buttons, throttle lever, flight computer, GPS, fuel mix levers and everything with your hand! You can fill rotating encoders clicking, you can feel buttons pressing. This is what VR immersion is! HAving just the mouse is very bad. I really hope Asobo can implement controllers very soon. This simulator is beyond anything, graphically speaking, but VR without controllers is stone age! Make mouse an option if some people pr…

I'm definitely enjoying the immersion factor and have loved trying new things simply because its VR. Here are some of my top flights: NZQN - Queenstown Airport to NZMF - Milford Sound in the G36 Turbo Bo'. Flightsim.to has a great freeware scenery add-on. Beautiful climbout over the ridge that quickly rises to 7k feet and then a hard drop and circle the field as you come down or enter from the sound side. YOW - Ottawa...today. Robin in a snow storm with visibility and ceiling about 0/0. I just wanted to see what I could do in the VFR flyer in the ice. I was about at 3k feet when a jolt shifted the plane and I literally jolted out of my seat it felt so real. I a…

Had my quest 1 running ok with the link cable inSim but this morning the quest 1 locks up in rift home so now it's useless, spent hours trying to sort it out, factory reset quest 1, re installed oculus home and etc etc etc, now within a matter of 30-60 seconds freezes in rift home, quest 1 home no issue at all, totally over it now. Strange thing if I connect my son's quest 2 does not happen ?

Hi all brought msfs 2020 at the msstore and finally have VR working with steam vr using quest 1 via link cablr but when I move the headset left or right the cockpit seems to distort, have changed all setting in steam VR settings but problem persists. I'm trying to use steam because I want to bring documents into the cockpit with steam ovr application don't think I can do that if I use the oculus VR driver, any body solved the distortion issue with quest 1 using steam VR thanks

I'm on a reverb G2, steam edition of the sim. The controllers seem to do nothing, not sure how to switch from steam theater to actual VR lol... I see the game on the theater screen.

Hi, currently I use a GTX 1060 and a ryzen 7 3900x and msfs in VR ist just not enjoyable. So I am thinking to buy a RTX 3070 or a RX 6800. Has anyone suggestions for me which card is better for MSFS VR? The rx 6800 has more RAM. Does anyone of you uses one of these cards and has a suggestion for me?

Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix? I have a button on my joystick (Saitek X52 pro) bound to the VR cockpit focus command and it is not working for me. It did work for me the first day of the update but I can't seem to get it working now. Any ideas? Anyone else having this problem?

I'm having an irregular (in time, sometimes a few minutes between, sometimes shorter) white flash when in VR. First thought it was the lightning bug because i had live weather selected but it also happens with a preset like clear skies. When i switch from VR to pancake, the flashes are gone. Anybody else having the same problem?

I sometimes have my controls not 100% working when i enter directly in VR. None of the axis move then, buttons work particially. Weird thing is that when i go into controls setup, everything is working and the axis move. Back in VR, no joy. Even weirder is the fact that if i move the mouse over let's say the throttle, i get the overlay that the throttle is at 0% and when it move it the value moves gruadually up to 100% when full throttle is applied but the throttle lever ingame itself is not moving nor does the engine rev up. Current workaround: Switch to 2D, moving the throtlle there works just fine, switch back to VR... all good and everything is working again as i…

  13. Loving VR but the size of the cockpits and wings when looking to the sides are small, like 75% compared to real size. Is there a way to increase the size?

Planes in VR can be quite different to flatscreen. Some cockpits work, some are not so good. A plane that performs fine in pancake mode suddenly stutters in VR. Personally, I'm greatly enjoying flying the various cubs in VR, and these are planes I wouldn't normally gravitate towards. So I'm going to vote for the Zlin Savage Cub today. Why: great frame rates, good visibility from the cockpit, it can land pretty much anywhere, it's made for low and slow which is where VR shines the most, taildragger so much better in VR (eg you can see when taxiing), in VR it gives a decent sense of RW stick and rudder flying. What is your favorite plane so far in VR, and why…

Pretty impressed with VR on the quest 1, not perfect but better than I had running with P3D, link cable can be very temperamental at times and only way I could get VR working was to log out of steam and use the openxr app from Microsoft store and set the path to the oculus 64 exe in the registry, before doing this it was horrible even in the Sim menus now it's mostly rock solid with the occasional jitter and instability but boy does it look good, night is brilliant and made me feel like I was in a real plane again. I think the reverb G2 would be something special if a Quest 1 is usable with a I7 8700k and 1080ti combo

...and its repeatable here. I can set the alt, heading mode / nav mode etc, but then Switching the A/P 'on' causes FS2020 to immediately CTD , while in VR. I'm on Oculus Rift CV1. Anyone else experiencing this , please advise. thanks,

  18. I have an Intel i7 8750H CPU, which should be OK, but I have read that the bare minimum on a GPU is NVIDIA GTX 1080 or equivalent. Am I hosed on being able to run MSFS 2020 in VR on my Quest 1? Thanks in advance to anyone who can weigh in.

So am I right that openXR is now the preferred replacement for SteamVR rather than something that works with it? If so then I wonder about all those many options you can configure in SteamVR. Super sampling rates, audio and any more. Is there an openXR config equivalent? I got the developer tool and there’s just one option - motion vector.

I have a strange problem on my system. I just started trying my Rift S on MSFS. I have used it a lot for other VR stuff and haven't seen anything like this before. The problem is that after I've started a flight and switch to VR mode, I end up outside the fuselage, on the left side, looking left. Somewhere on ground level. If I then press Space to reset the camera, all goes black. I can then look 90 degrese right and reset the camera again, and then I'm back outside the fuselage looking left again. Strange... In Oculus home all is OK and forward is forward. Does anyone know what might be wrong.

Hi all, Bit of background first; I've been using VR for a few years with 99% of that time spent in Racing Sims where the key is to get as smooth & fluid a display/FPS as possible preferably at 90FPS. In that time I've owned an Oculus CV1 and for the past year and a bit I've had the Reverb G1 (Second Revision) which is a fantastic bit of kit, FOV could be better but the visual resolution is great. Anyway in that time I've learnt how to tweak and find ways of making Racing Sims work very well (Rfactor2, iRacing, Automobilista2 & RaceRoom) and I've spent a fair few hours on MSF2020 since the Patch doing the same and coming up with a very decent Balance across mo…

  23. Sorry this is a bit off topic, but Has anyone else tried games like Project Cars 2 and Star Wars Squadrons since the updates? The performance improvements in them is just amazing. PC2 is now like a new game for me, both in smoothness / gfx and force feedback response. Hopefully we're finally seeing the 3080 run as it should. I'd imagine the earlier cards should be great too For Oculus link users - If MSFS can get Oculus VR talking with OpenXR correctly, hopefully we should see some great performance

  24. Evrything outside of the cockpit looks kind of like I'm looking through a slight heat haze and wobbles around a bit. Inside the cockpit everything is fine. Not yet sure if this is just an Oculus reprojection side effect.
