December 22, 20205 yr I'm on a reverb G2, steam edition of the sim. The controllers seem to do nothing, not sure how to switch from steam theater to actual VR lol... I see the game on the theater screen. Jerad Burns

I see the game on the theater screen. Easy fix. Don’t launch in that mode from steam - close the program, and select launch in desktop only, not desktop plus vr. Then you switch to vr once msfs has launched. December 22, 20205 yr Got the same problem with my Valve Index. When I launch it says that "Starting in VR mode, if you don't want that start without having Steam VR running". The game starts in a cinema mode and that works fine (but useless). Thought it was only for menus but it's the same for flights. When I go into options and click "Enable VR" it just drops to desktop with no error message... To much Christmas planning - anyone with the same problem that has solved it? Start MSFS. Once in Main Menu activate VR from within the Sim (CTRL + TAB for me). This will automatically start Steam VR and your are done edit: Right click and go on properties in steam on MSFS. Deactivate VR Theater mode there. Havent tested that yet though Edited December 23, 20205 yr by DaWu Lukas Dalton
December 23, 20205 yr Awsome - thanks @DaWu This really seems like a "bug" in Steam, that has not realized that MSFS now is a VR title. If I uncheck the "VR Theatre Mode" that is on as default in Steam it works. And my god - I did not expect a decent VR implementation but this is a very good first iteration of VR. The only annoyance now is that the props make the edges of the instrument panel "blur" that is rather annoying. Other than that the old 2080 needs to go down the food-chain to some son so dad can get a 3080 when they produce more than 100 a week 😉 Ryzen 9800X3D | Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite AX MB | 64GB 6000Mhz DDR5 | RTX 5080 GPU | Windows 11 Pro x64 | Virpil T-50 Throttle | T50 CM2 Grip + WarBRD | VKB T-rudder MK IV | Asus PG279Q 1440p | Pimax Crystal Light VR | Samsung 980 Pro as system disk and Samsung 990 Pro M2 SSD for games

I have to do the same thing with Quest headset you gotta close steam VR entirely and just start Flight Simulator normally. Theres a button on the menus that switches it to VR. Jerad Burns
