Is there any way to display any kind of Notepad in VR? I wanted to do a VOR to VOR flight and normally I would simply note the frequencies on my phone or something, but there seems to be no way at all for something like this while in VR. OVR toolkit doesn't work because of the lack of Motion controller support. The little Nav Map add on is out of date and doesn't seem to work anymore. And All Overlays aren't showing up in VR. This is so frustrating that such a minor thing ruins it atm for me.

  2. I've just discovered the G2 Windows Holographic driver is oreventing the most recent Windows updates, including the 21H1 update. If anyone else is having the same problem, this worked for me. Unplug G2 display port and USB from PC Open up a command prompt as an administrator and type; dism /online /remove-capability /capabilityname:Analog.Holographic.Desktop~~~~0.0.1.0 Do the Win updates then restart PC. Reconnect G2 and it will re download it's necessary software automagically. Happy days!

  3. Hi everyone; I was finally able to afford and purchase my G2 headset. I got DCS to work fine. My problem, now, is MSFS. Here is my procedure: I turn on the computer with the G2 USB plugged in (I bought a Rosewill PCI, USB type C Express Card--which doesn't work; I can not find the right driver so I use the upfront USB with the Reverb provided type C adaptor). When loaded, I start MSFS and subsequently start a flight with airport location and Gate. I then go to the VR menu and click VR. First, this beautiful picture of the cockpit comes on with a popup that says hit space bar to center (something like that). Strangely, I can never get that pop up to go away or center the…

When switching to the external view in VR, there doesn't seem to be a way to zoom in close to the aircraft as you would do for a external inspection, etc. Some same functions for monitors/2D do not seem to work in VR. I'm limited to just the right mouse button vertical and rotation about the centerpoint of the aircraft without any way of getting closer. Any insights would be appreciated

  5. Hello, FYI I noticed that when I use OpenXR render scaling I obtain almost 20% worse performances without any perceivable graphics quality benefit. I.e. in the same conditions (a flight started over Milan with default settings and C172 G1000, clear sky): - OpenXR 70% - In sim 100%: 33 fps - OpenXR 100% - In sim 70%: 40 fps

  6. Hi there, just got FS2020 setup with Quest 2 and wow is it stunning. I had setup using WiFi and remote desktop (Steam VR) at first and worked pretty well but FPS down to under 20 on occasions. Got a cable and using through Steam VR again and the sharpness in pucture is so much better. Had to change some settings to get rid of stuttering and all seems to be looking very nice indeed. Only issue I get now is if I move my head in the cockpit I get what looks like screen tear. The edges of wing and cockpit windows gets really jaggy for a second. Everything else looks fine. Never got this using WiFi. I have tried changing Vertical Sync in nVidia Control Pa…

  7. This is driving me bonkers. More often then not my oculus link crashes, only with MSFS 2020. When it does happen I have to completely exit the oculus app and clear the oculus stuff with ctr/alt/esc, I then restart the oculus app and reconnect oculus link and sometimes I can then continue my flight until it happens again. It is so unpredictable that I am considering not using MSFS anymore, this only happens with MSFS 2020,X-plane and P3Dv5 is fine. I’m using quest 2 and the latest beta software with a 3080 pledged directly into the USB-c on my motherboard(Power saving turned off) with the oculus brand cable. Am I the only one with this issueis it me? Is this an is…

Hello, I'm considering buying the Oculus Rift S to have a try with VR in Flight Simulator. I have tried VR before, I had the original Vive back in the day, but I sold it due to lack of content at the time. I'm wondering: - Is the screen door effect be bad? I do like flying both VFR and IFR, but I do most flying in GA aircraft either way. I just want to be able to read the instruments and avionics. Is it possible without having to zoom in all the time? - Am I going to be able to reach 60 fps? Or 30 fps? And is that going to be enough to NOT make me sick when flying? I did try War Thunder with Vive years ago, and although it was smooth I got a bit nauseas a…

Hi. I am using the Oculus Quest 2, and some times (not always), when I switch a 2D day light time of say 11:00am to VR mode. I get a semi dark scene almost night. Any ideas what could be causing that .

  14. Tonight I unboxed brand new Reverb G2 bought directly from HP on ebay. It does not light up nor display anything at all, dead dark black screen. I do not have a USB 3c connector so I did not plug any USB connection into my computer. (There was no adapter in the G2 package to adapt a USB c cable plug to normal size USB 3 socket, which of course my computer has lots of those sockets available). I did plug in the display port into computer and into the headset, and I did plug in the AC mains adapter into the little G2 cord breakout box. My question is: Does a HP Reverb G2 light up and display something if the USB is not plugged into computer (but the dis…

Hi guys, I need help to decide if send it back to Amazon or keep it. I bought the G2 after having seen many reviews and videos describing it as the consumer VR headset with the best image quality / pixel density, therefore the best for reading aircraft and car gauges. And this is certainly true when you look directly at them in the infamous "sweet spot" which for me - and I consider myself lucky because I read that for many people it's an area covering barely 5-10% of the FOV - is about 30-40% of the FOV. This is annoying though, I am sort of getting used to it but not quite... of course custom resolution and FS resolution scale are both at 100%. There are mods …

I remembered I used Process Lasso some years ago, after I saw a tip on it in the official FS forum. So, installed again, and in Lasso I disabled the Windows dynamic thread boost for the flightsimulator.exe and fps seems a bit higher, but more important: stuttering seems to have diminised (not vanished). My 2 cents.

I run a 9600 K RTX 3090, and 32 GB RAM. I still have stuttering in some areas, and am aware of rather poor VR performance with other simmers with good hardware. I use tips from various forums and YT (VR Sim guy , Captain?? etc) however. I wonder if upgrading 9600 K to for example Ryzen 7 5800x still improve framerate and or stuttering? Regards Rene

  18. Teaser: Using a mouse to operate the cockpit knobs, switches and buttons when flying is an immersion killer for me. The remedy – the hardware panel, built with VR in mind: controls (knobs/encoders, switches, buttons) placed well apart to allow finding them in blind, dual rotary encoders with pushbuttons (expensive but worth every penny) used, allowing 5 inputs in one hand position (outer ring CW/CCW, inner ring CW/CCW, pushbutton), controls located left, right ant bottom of the yoke to allow locating them easier, using both hands, different shapes and sizes of switches and buttons used to allow identifying them by touch. More here:…

Hi everyone. I am relatively new to MSFS and now I have an Oculus Question 2. I have managed to use Virtual Desktop with it so far. So here are some questions: 1. Can I use the link cable and run MSFS VR without Virtual Desktop? If so, what are the steps? 2. If I use Sidequest to change the resolution of the headset and then disconnect the cable, does that change stay active in the headset until the headset reboots? What about after a reboot? 3. I want to learn more about the Oculus Tray Tool. I have it installed but I need a good tutorial about using it, especially with MSFS. 4. Any links to the best Oculus Quest 2 / MSFS settings and performa…

  24. When I want to move a switch in the virtual cockpit, the mouse cursor is not a the same distance: it's at a nearest distance from my eyes. So I see 2 cursors and it's difficult to click at the good place. It's the case for example with the fuel pump, or landing light switches. There is no problem with rotating knob however: knobs and mouse cursor are at the same distance in the 3D space. As JustFlight dont have their own forum, I wonder how we can send feedback or issues on the product.
