My Reverb g2 died the other day so i decided to try out the aero, now that Ive dialed it in its amazing for msfs but the one thing I have noticed is there is "color banding" with clouds and mist at night. it happens mostly when clouds are illuminated by either city lights or aircraft landing lights. Its a pretty distracting and ugly effect that I didn't notice at all with the g2. Is there a setting or tweak to get rid of this?

just came back from holiday switch the PC on and I could not get the link cable to connect to my headset. PC says it was connected, but the oculus software says it was not. Working fine when I last used it. Went through the normal procedure factory reset the headset reinstall the software no luck it seems latest version of the occulus software has a bug. Turned on developer mode and opted into the “Public Test channel.” it downloaded new drivers which fixed it !!! Hope this helps any of you out there who may have this problem

Half price in fact... $990 USD. Too little, too late? (For me, yes). Clearing out inventory for a new version? Having experienced an All-in-One headset, I don't think I want to go the basestation route. https://www.uploadvr.com/varjo-aero-price-cut/

Here's how to tell for sure. 1) The cable. The V2 cable has a little control box in the middle of it with an on/off switch. That switch is missing on the V1 control box. 2) BUT you may have the new V2 cable but also the old V1 headset. HP sold lots of units like that: old V1 headset with new V2 cable in the box instead of the old V1 cable. So here's how to tell if the headset itself is the V2 version. The one on the left is the V2 version. Notice the raised area around the 2 holes at the top. And here's the link to the article that explains all the benefits of the V2 version: https://unboundxr.eu/de-hp-reverb-g2-vr-headset-is-nog-beter-geworden If…

Have you experienced jumpy / jittery night lighting with reprojection on (maybe just WMR headsets?) and has todays update made a difference? Seems to have fixed it for me.

Big Screen and Beyond. The bulk and bother of VR greatly reduced. $1000 dollars or so. The lens housing and pupil spacing is custom fit to your individual face as it is being manufactured at the factory. They measure your face from a phone camera. So it might be harder to resell down the road to someone else. Weight: under 4-1/2 ounces. Size: tiny. Comfort: Video reviewer says great!

My favourites are the H145 and the Cessna 414 and the Cessna 310. Do you have a tip for me about jets? I have a Rtx 4090, there is no lack of power.

Hello all! After some research I upgraded my system in August, This week, I've setup my Reverb G2 (rev2). I took a flight from KSFO to inibuilds KLAX (with live traffic enabled). System handled it great. My concern is the views in the cockpit are blurry for most of the screen unless I'm directly concentrating on a specific area. (The "sweet spot") With the G2, is the sweet spot that small? I've adjusted the switch on the bottom of the headsets and it helped a tiny bit, but I was thinking I'd have better resolution. (The cost of the new PC was very prohibitive, so I did not go for a more expensive VR headset) So! Are there any tips that worked for you that you wo…

Well, as i feared, i got my Aero and tested it out, im used to reprojection and seeing no blur on the ground out the window with my G2 headset with MR. They seem to have added "Motion prediction" to the interface, however it has no effect using the openxr toolkit etc as expected, just not there yet. Has anyone heard a timeline as to when this might occur, its been some time now since it was first mentioned? Hesitant to keep these if its a long ways off or if it gets implemented poorly in some way. Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I did get a Quest Pro; so far it is sharper than Quest 2. Now, I will post much in-depth experience as I go through my testing with the sim. So far I am using OpenXr in Turbo Mode as it is giving me constant 30fps in Commanche 250. My hardware is older and I was debating to buy a new pc or Quest Pro. I opted for Quest Pro (new pc next year when pcie 5.0 Nvidia 5000 series cards). It is a slick VR headset compared to Quest 2 (I am getting my wife Quest 3 in fall...and will compare that to). Bottom line: - The gauges were sharp in Commanche 250 but stay tuned

Hi, has anyone lost the ability to use the vr controllers since the last couple of updates? I have them listed in the controllers menu (as oculus controllers) but they're not visible or functioning. Thanks,

Hi As per the title, given that VR may not be suitable for everyone eg. initial cost, motion sickness, cost etc. I would really like to give it a go, just to see what it's like. Although I mainly fly IFR I assume that VR is much more attuned to VFR flying and sight-seeing. My system is relatively modest (ish) CPU AMD Ryzen 7 5800X-3D GPU Asus Geforce RTX 4070 Memory 32GB Many thanks. Al

I am at my wits end and asking for help. I recently formatted my C drive and installed Windows 11. I have MSFS on a separate M2 drive. I fly using a HP Reverb G2 headset. With Windows 10 this worked smoothly. Now, I cannot get the VR to work with Mixed Reality Portal. Every time I hit CRTL-TAB to switch I get an error message saying “The initialization of VR failed. Please check that OpenXR is installed…”. It is installed and the Demo works with the headset. I have deleted and reinstalled Windows Mixed Reality Portal and OpenXR at least a half-dozen times, to no avail. I have reset Windows and MSFS. I tired Repair on everything. I have looked online for possible solu…

Many MSFS graphics settings for the monitor are replicated for VR, and some are not (eg DX11/DX12). Do the graphics settings I have for my monitor impact PC resources when in VR mode? I'm curious if I'm impacting my VR performance with a high PC monitor setting.

where it used to make things worse, it now makes a noticeable improvement on the system I'm presently using. It might only be affecting AMD users and / or WMR users 5800x3d, 4090, win11 22h2, x570 mobo, reverb g2, latest amd chipset drivers installed, latest nvidia drivers installed improves MSFS, DCS, Automobilista2, Assetto Corsa. That's all I've tried so far.

I've been having a number of CTDs mid-air when switching between VR<->2D. As always, CTDs are probably one of the worst thing for us flight simmers. Ending a flight that way when you maybe spent an hour or more in the air is never fun as we all know. I'm not presented by any error message or anything like that. Instead, MSFS simply closes (crashes) in a split second and next, I'm sitting on my desktop. Checking the Application log in Windows Event Viewer though, I see this error message after each crash. Always the same module/DLL. Anyone else seen this or even better, found a cure for it? I'm on a fully up to date Windows 10, Nvidia 461.40 (I've also…

Just thought I'd throw this tip out to everyone that 'Game Mode' improves frame rates in VR. Once 'on' you have make sure no other apps are running on your desktop (exception being FS specific apps like FSRealistic, VR headset software, etc). Don't have open or use Edge at the time of launch or you'll have a long time getting to FS's main menu. Using Chrome won't affect launching the sim but you'll find your sim crashing at some point during usage. You basically have to get used to FS being the only thing basically running while you use it. From there you'll find VR performance improved more that before. This is what I found on my system after upgrading from 10 to 11…
