Hi all, a family friend was about to literally throw out their version 1 Reverb G2 out due to some USB error which they found unrecoverable (they really have no patience). I managed to salvage it from them in the hopes of being able to get it running, and after doing a couple of hours research, it seems the cable from the headset to the PC is shot, and the apparent quick fix is to purchase a new cable (version 2 - Omnicept?) which fits the V1, and the aforementioned error is no more. Can someone confirm that this is the correct replacement cable? https://immersive-display.com/en/hp-reverb/704-hp-reverb-g2-headset-cable-v2-6-meters.html Thanks.

Heads up! Notice to Quest 1 Developers As we announced last year, we are implementing important changes to Quest 1. Beginning on April 30, 2024, we will discontinue support for new Quest 1 apps. This means that new apps created after this date cannot list Quest 1 as supported hardware:…

Hello, Guys! Need some advice. I am using Quest 3 with virtual desktop. Periodically facing a problem when the picture in VR freezes, while on the monitor everything moves well. If I reboot VR glasses without exiting the sim, then everything goes ok for 3 or 5 min then it freezes again... Should notice that this happens on the ground in a certain airports. For instance, I tried to depart from LIME and every 5 min I had a freeze problem. But I managed to depart and everything was ok during the rest of the flight... The same was yesterday in a LEMG... Where should I look for a problem solution? Does it depend on a codec I use in streamer app? Or maybe something…

I am the one who posed the question in this week's Q&A about the VR Shutdown Bug. I also originally reported it on the MSFS Forums 2 years ago. I have uploaded a video to YouTube showing the issue. I have emailed this to Jorg along with the full unedited version of the video. Hopefully it will make it to the development team and maybe they will change their tune now that they have directions on how to reproduce it. I was really frustrated with the Q&A answer and basically a dismissal of the problem as "low priority" since they could not see it. However after I spent hours on this today I am willing to cut Martial a little bit of slack. As it turns out you c…

Before I hop onto Fenix's discord, maybe someone of you has a solution. I suffer horrible display lag in the FENIX A320 when I switch over to VR. Everything else is running smooth, but it's almost as if the displays in the Fenix refresh at only 1FPS, or even less. Does anyone know a solution?

Prompted by thetford569's post there is also the issue of the double cursor when viewing a close-up instrument view. This problem was introduced with SU8 way back in March 2022 and has been reported numerous times in the forums as well as being log. The bug happens in any aircraft, default and 3rd party but it does not appear to affect everyone. It does not get a lot of votes so i am not optimistic of a fix, especially after 2 years, despite it being introduced with a sim update

Thoughts from those in the beta? I’ve read about FPS increase but haven’t noticed it myself (3090/Aero) but others say its more about consistent timing. It maaaay be smoother. Not sure yet. What do others think? it seems to me that with more DX12 optimisation and MSFS 2024 CPU optimisation (and foveated rendering hopefully) i ought to be hopeful of getting a lot more out of this 3090,

He has passion for VR to be sure - almost too much, as an influencer - he has many dissatisfied followers - just think of some Aero & Pimax Crystal users, Artur from Somnium VR1 just called Zuckerberg nuts, I had to remind Artur that Zuck’s Quests actually have the lion’s share of the total VR HMD market, (there is no released VR1 HMD yet - only time will tell - is it vaporware?) & to be banned by VRFSG for simply pointing out that Quests are overwhelming dominating the VR market is ridiculous…

After WU16 I noticed in VR this app starts miles off to the left of the viewpoint, it's unmoveable so I have to exit VR, re-enter VR and it sets it up in the middle and is able to be moved. (a different VR app author found an issue after WU16 as well with their mod, I didn't think World Updates were supposed to break things like this....) That's one issue, the next one is the sporadic nature of the FPS readout, it fluctuates wildly from mid 20s to mid 40s and yet when I use the OpenXR Toolkit FPS that shows a generally solid number with a slight deviation by 1 or 2 FPS, the DynamicLOD app (visible on the monitor) also shows the same, so Shift+Z is acting up. Anyone …

  15. Started by nojwod,

I installed the new AutoFPS that has been getting rave reviews and fired it up along with MSFS. Took a flight in VR and my LOD seemed quite low, even though the sim was really smooth, I thought I could do with a bit more LOD and less FPS. But, with Windows Mixed Reality, in VR the mouse is trapped in the VR window, while the AutoFPS screen sits on the desktop. No way that I know of to get it to display in the VR headset, and anyway can't really use the keyboard with the headset on. So I got to wondering if there's a config file and sure enough... in AppData\Roaming\MSFS2020_AutoFPS there's a file called MSFS2020_AutoFPS.config that is editable in Notepad. Ch…

For those of you who have a Quest 3, you could give this a try. If you are like me, the chances are you will have a pair of over-ear headphones knocking around, maybe paired with another system. Put them on over the top of the Quest 3; they just need to cover the sound outlet slots and your ears. You don't need to connect them up, switch them on, pair them or whatever as you are just using them as passive sound boxes. The difference is amazing. Of course, you could just connect/pair them to the Quest 3 or your computer, but why bother, and this way you can keep them paired to the TV, Hi-Fi or phone.

  17. Please disregard the following. After looking to see if I could force any uninstalled updates in OPTIONS and noticing drop down menus were working there I tried again to start a flight and drop-down menus for airport work again. VERY STRANGE I had just finished my dinner and decided to do a flight. I started MSFS and got a message that it could not connect to the internet and also at the same time advised of an update. I closed MSFS and restarted hoping it could then connect to the internet and I did not get the message but also did not get the message that there was an update available. I continued on and attempted to start a flight h…

I just get idea how to fix the annoying VR scale bug by using external application. It would work like AutoFPS https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.4.0. AutoFPS modifies MSFS memory to change LOD values. In my proposal similar program reads the plane type via SimConnect and changes the VFR Scale value automatically for each plane. The normalized scale values would be stored into config file. Config file comes with the tool, but it can be modified by the users. The only user setting is to set the ‘basic’ scale or the IPD value which is the right way to do this. I don’t know what is the MSFS’s ‘standard’ IPD value, but all planes scal…

Since my HP G2 died, I am looking at the Meta 3 Quest. I see it comes in two version 128 Gb and 512 Gb. Are there any advantnges to buying the 512 Gb version over the 128 Gb version in MSFS or DCS? I don't do a lot of gaming, Skyrim and Starfield being the big exceptions, so the headset will be mostly for flight simming.
