@Calvin-Pimax Hopefully one of you guys have a solution for me or a yes or no to weather its even possible. I want to ditch the monitor altogehter and have the Crystal light as the only display connected to my PC such that when I turn the PC on and put the headset on I basically see the desk top on a big screen in the headset right in front of me. I know there is a program called virtual desktop. Is this setup possible?

  2. I'm really enjoying how the game looks in VR in my PSVR2. Before going VR, I was playing the game normally on a 55" 4K TV with my xbox controller. But how do you guys manage to control all the plane in VR? When I have my VR headset on, I can't see my keyboard. How do you guys manage to push the buttons, throttles, flaps, etc. in VR? Really need help with this to make the VR experience smoother.

I see a new update for the PP has come out... haven't yet tested it out but will do so this afternoon... Lets see if this enhances an already great headset!

Hi all I have just come across steam iVRy and thought I would give it ago to see how vr looks. I am using it on a samsung phone I launch the app on the phone and then on the desktop, iVRy starts up and with my head set on I am in a room with a screen in front of me. I launch msfs2020 and it appears on the screen in the room but how do get it to full VR mode. When I press ctrl and tap in the msfs window to launch VR the image on my computer screen shows two images and when I move the headset the images track but on my phone I get a new image. I can see a range of hill in the distance and the night sky with stars and a small screen showing the msfs2020 logo…

  5. Hi I am trying to get some clarity (yes - sorry about the pun) about the correct corrective lens prescription for my new Crystal Light. There is confusion about the correct prescription of glasses to wear or corrective VR lenses to purchase. I have: a hunch; some hints of confirmation that my hunch is right; results of some extensive experiments I have done on my own headset which I outline below. But have any other glasses wearers had blur issues? Just as importantly, are any other glasses wearers getting crisp views - and if so, what distance of vision are those glasses or lenses set at (far-distance, mid-distance, reading)? So my no…

  6. Started by Dillon,

😶All just wanted to let everyone know especially those we glasses there's an issue where we need to be mindful not to over do VR usage. Seems obvious but for me I found bags forming under my eyes and fatigue more than I should after flights. I don't feel I was using the headset for lengthy amounts of time and certainly didn't have issues to this extent with the Reverb. There may be an undiscovered problem as we get more into high definition headsets with screens so close to our eyes. There could actually be a long term problem that only more advanced lenses can solve. The lenses in the Cystal are amazing especially the clarity. This may also be an issue where until I…

  7. Hi This is important information for glasses wearers who have bought, or are considering buying, the Pimax Crystal Light. I have, at last, received an answer from Pimax Support that the Crystal Light has a Virtual Image Distance of 1 metre. In Imperial/US measurement, that is 3' 4" And so corrective glasses/lenses should be based on an eye prescription at that distance which is classed as intermediate distance and not far distance (the latter being more usual for many popular VR headsets). If you don't have a specific intermediate glasses prescription, then most lens and glasses suppliers can work out the prescription for you based on your age and you…

After much consideration, I have decided to buy the Quest 3. I am truly impressed. This is amazing and adds a whole new dimension to flight simulator. My system is an i7 13700K, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090. I will mainly use VR for IFR flights, particularly during departure and arrival. During cruise, I will likely switch to 2D mode so I can easily do other things on my computer. VFR flights might also become more interesting, now that it looks so much better. I’m still fiddling with the settings and figuring out which software to use. I am using the link cable to connect to my PC. I started with Meta Quest Link on the headset but found the screens very blurry.…

I'm buying a Quest 3 for MSFS 2024. Change my mind!

  10. Started by FlyIce,

I have been flying exclusively IFR for my training IRL so I haven't touched VR for over six months. I assume my beloved G2 is already dead. Is Pimax Crystal Light the only real option on the market? I want to wait for the Pimax Crystal Super, but seems hard to know when it'll finally be out. Other headsets all appear to be flops, gaining very little traction / attention among users. What a draught for us VR simmers.

  11. Hi guys, couldn't think of a better way to describe this... when wearing the CL and looking (with eyes only) sharp left or right, there is a kind of rippling effect right at the edge of the view..turning my head alleviates it.. just wondering if this is something to do with FFR or should there be edge to edge clarity all the time? I am hoping i don't have dodgy lenses! Thoughts?

Is Fixed Foveated Rendering in MSFS suppose to work natively using pimax settings? I can't get it to work unless I use openXR toolkit app. "Currently settings', always shows 'FFR Off'. Also, I don't see any performance increase using 90HZ Upscale(lab).

This dog won't download all the way. I know it's a problem, they know it's a problem and they refuse to fix it. My only hope is if someone on this site tells me how to do something that I should not have ask this question, but I do, please help.

  14. I said I'll report back when I received my headset. Here are some key points from my experience so far: 1. I ordered the headset back on 6/13 and just got it yesterday 8/31. I'll give the company a little stretch here as they are a new company and the demand was higher than expected 2. Setup was easy enough and didn't conflict with Windows Mixed Reality (can still use the Reverb G2 if I want to before MS pulls the plug). 'VR Flight Sim Guy's settings worked perfect for me outside of a slight adjustment on one setting that worked better on my system: MSFS Pimax Crystal LIGHT VR SETTINGS GUIDE 3070ti - 4070- 4090 | ALL You NEED to KNOW! 15. Since I've posted so much on setting this headset up I'd like to know if others are seeing a nagging issue I can't get around, high altitude headset lags. I'm finding the headset suffers from a problem above 25,000ft with heavy clouds where it looses it's tracking and/or lags when I turn my head. When it get's too bad it just jumps out the cockpit having my view placed above the plane until I center it again only to find some weird view that the headset defaults to until it get's it's act together again. There can be a slight lag in the headset at any point in the sim when scenery is loading (which is acceptable) but flying airliners or the Longitude this is a problem …

How to reliably avoid W11 24H2 update and continue to use the G2 with WMR, but keep critical security update? I think 24H2 starts to deploy in 3 days!

  18. Started by vonduck,

Supposedly with this version it fixes a few issues with the CL..including the IPD non display! Going to try it out... Link below... https://dlappstore.pimax.com/release/play/PimaxPlaySetup_Release_toC_V1.33.02.01.03_202410111910.exe NB: Can confirm that the IPD now shoes in the headset and is the same as whats seen in the PP software too...

and I do not mean the interface. I understand that will likely be a no-go but will the results of the tweaking be visible in VR ? I use a Quest 3 with OpenXR toolkit that has some options to post process, filter colours and other stuff etc. Will that be compatible?

This 8k headset is Almost perfect! Only problem I see, you will need a 5090 to drive the pixels.

  21. Started by roland_lfor,

I've just moved to a RX 7900 XT GPU, still with the G2. This is my first AMD. The good news is that AMD fluid motion frame 2 is working in VR, which double Fps! I'm still using OXRTK mainly for the foveated rendering, and would like to avoid it's embedded motion reprojection (which I think is conflicting with fluid motion frame). Problem in this case, AMD fps target is not working in VR. How can I cap and synch Fps ? I'm looking for stable and stutter free VR experience, more than high Fps.

  22. Right, I've given up with the official forums, its just run by word not allowed totally devoid of any human emotion. Maybe this forum could help instead. I use VR on a Reverb G2, 4090, i9 13900KF, 32GB ram etc. Its ran fine for ages but all of a sudden the sim crashed to desktop (no errors or anything) as soon as VR was launched. It would load fine in "D but as soon as I entered VR it was a straight crash. I'm using the latest DLSS file as well if it makes any difference. I narrowed this down to the render scale in open XR tools (the purple one), I don't use the toolkit. Any sort of high setting over 150% crashes, although in the past I've been way above 200 bef…

  23. Started by Fielder,

I got the no controllers but with local dimming. It will be awhile, maybe tomorrow before I can test. Or maybe tonight. Comfort is OK. The head band is a Halo with a clicking adjustment knob on the back. The knob is big and easy to turn. That halo is where the weight will rest. Very little weight on the nose or top of head. There is a strap running along the top of your head front to back. It will help the halo to support the headset a little bit. You do not have to really tighten it. the halo takes the weight. Also you can rotate the headset up to look around in your room without adjusting the mount. This is very possible unless you really crank down too tight on the hal…

I have never tried anything on VR before but I am considering giving it a go given how much people seem to like it and the immersion factor that’s possible. I have been looking at the Meta Quest 3 as I believe the G2 will no longer be supported fully in the future on W11. I’m an experienced MSFS user flying only tubeliners on a 5800X3D system with a 4080 at 4K using FG and mostly high/ultra settings. Typically will have anywhere between 60-100 FPS depending on the scenario and I’ve recently started using the dynamic LOD app to adjust lod when on the ground. I have a dual monitor setup with MSFS on 1 screen and additional apps like navigraph, vPilot, FS2Crew,STKP etc …
