I have zero trouble with EFB in VR using the latest BETA. For the last 2 or 3 days since the latest SU2 preview update it works every bit as good as this: I can move the map, zoom, work all the buttons on the screen and enter things in the text boxes.

The AR VR lens pen (also available on Amazon) Microfiber cloths may not be as safe on a lens. But the cloths are great to clean the lens pen head every once in awhile, before using the pen. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TCDS8JL/

But it might not do anything, I can't be sure because I can't use openXRtoolkit any more (I have to figure out how I messed it up). So I can't read my fps in VR. Anyway, the method is to turn on FG for VR in usercfg.opt (because you can't do it in msfs options in the sim). =>> Never edit usercfg.opt while msfs in running, it will reset all your options in the sim 😞 1 Open msfg 2024, or I suppose it will work in 2020 too, and go to msfs options and turn on FG in the general tab (not the VR tab). And if you use dlss for the FG then turn FG on choosing NVIDIA DLSS, and be sure to now close msfs. And usercfg.opt will now have changed by the sim to …

TL;DR If you have a 4090 or 5090 this under $2000 headset is your best VR headset at any price and costs less than other premium headsets which can approach $5,000. But if you have a lesser GPU, then it is probably not a good purchase because the resolution is far higher than say a crystal light.

I thought I had VR with G2 in 2024 SU2 Beta all figured out. Good image at steady 40 FPS in all my VR sessions. Put the VR aside for a couple days. Now while in 2D 2024 I see 100+ FPS everywhere except highly detailed addon airports but still get 35 or FPS with mostly high settings at those airports. However, flying along at 2000' AGL/90 kts in the Ziln prop plane I see 100 FPS with the G2 plugged in but WMR not started. As soon as WMR starts but still in 2D the FPS drops to single digit. When I switch to VR the FPS drops to 1 or 2 and stays there. At times the sim does not respond for 10-seconds or more. As soon as I close the WMR window/terminate the pro…

Yes, I know...but hear me out on this one. It's the best £16 I've ever spent on anything sim related. It's a bit weird in 2D...but in VR WOW - it gave me the absolute VR 'this feels real' shivers... Your view might, of course, vary - but personally I'm lost for words...so I won't say any more 😀

In DCS world, dynamic FR almost doubles fps. In msfs2024 the fps went from 30 to 40 with DFR off/ on (nowhere near as much improvement). In msfs2024 fps in regular (non dynamic, no eye tracking) FR went from 30 to 35 or so. Therefore a VR headset with eye tracking (Pimax Super, BBB 2) is not such a big deal in msfs2024, but is a big deal in DCS. The BBB2 without eye tracking is $200 cheaper than the same BBB2 with eye tracking ($1019 vs. $1219) (you also need a Steam Valve base station for either model ($175).

Hey everyone, I’ve been messing around with a workaround for the broken EFB tablet in VR on MSFS 2024. I made a custom inGamePanel that acts as a temporary fix. Here’s the deal: The panel opens either through the default tablet icon or a new one labeled “EFB PANEL.” You can also pop it up using the default EFB hotkey combo (same as the stock one). It creates a separate instance of the tablet, and it syncs all the settings with the default EFB. It’s pretty simple and gets the job done until they fix the VR tablet. Let me know what you think or if you’ve got questions! Happy flying! https://github.com/buzinin/msfs2024-efb-panel

I have Varjo Aero VR glasses, and I am not sure how the foveated rendering should be activated. In SU2 there is a click box 'Foveated Rendering'. With that option ON the picture becomes very pixelated. It is obvious that the eye tracking does not work. In Varjo Base software System setting for OpenXR API layer have two options XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_toolkit XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_eye_trackers MSFS will crash with the 'eye_trackers' acivated so I do not use it. Toolkit is activated. I have activated the Foveated rendering from the OpenXR Toolkit. When I end flight and exit to simulator menus, they are very pixelated, so foveated rendering is …

Hi guys, finally trying to get VR working for myself in 2020 (and 2024 eventually) as I finally got something to use VR Desktop with after seeing so many videos about it being the best way to use a Quest 2 which I currently have. I followed some suggested settings from a youtube channel that were listed as appropriate for my hardware and on loading in I noticed looking around the cockpit the aircraft jump up & down a bit as I look around. I can't figure out how to fix this. I've tried with and without VR desktop's ASW on and no difference except I went from 80fps to 40. I do have MSFS capped at 80fps in the Nvidia driver settings. Not sure if that affects VR thou…

Wider field of view is nice. But it can be designed into a headset in two different ways: better lenses (good) or reduce binocular overlap (not so good). BigscreenBeyond 2 has used the second, not so good method. The headset is so small that its hard to fit big lenses and the BB1 had narrow field of view for that reason. So the two images (left and right) are further apart on the headset screen and you eyes have to compensate. This type of being further apart has nothing to do with the the inter pupil distance of the lenses on the headset, it is instead the distance is on the screen, not the lens. Think of it this way: A viewmaster film camera has their two lens…

Seriously? I thought VR was in for some much needed TLC... General VR fixes:- Fixed the ratio of panels in VR flight* Fixed the appearance of the toolbar when going out of VR flight * Fixed some 3D UI that were appearing in front of the panels in VR flight Not sure now whether to install SU2 beta? Anyone tried it? Then again.. just kept reading as below... Virtual Reality Fixed an issue causing some attached interations to not block the VR ray in some cases Fixed an issue causing hidden yokes to still affect the VR rays Fixed mission steps not displaying VR controller icons Removed the “VR Compatibility…

Hi In case you haven't seen the post elsewhere: The last couple of days I've had issues posting topics and replies on Edge. I understand that folks have had similar issues on Chrome. The answer appears to be to clear your Browser Cache (it sometimes takes 2 goes). Another workaround it to try a different browser - I used Firefox successfully over the past couple of days but have now cleared my Edge browser cache and that has cured it.

I've really, really, really wanted to like MSFS2024 in VR. And, as is sometimes the case with a particularly errant child, every time I've welcomed it in with open arms, it's trashed the house, kicked me in the ribs and driven off in my car, laughing. But I've spent the best part of four full time days reading up everything I could find, trying many of the myriad of recommended settings, addons, tricks and techniques and, in spite of Microsoft's help (suspect W11 24H2 update, mandatory MSFS2024 update, etc, etc), I really do think I'm getting somewhere. My aim is to be able to: - Run either MSFS2020 or MSFS2024 through the Pimax Crystal Light without havin…

I have a PCL which I have been using quite a lot and am very happy with it in 202p and 2024. It uses built in camera tracking. That tracking works well, but sometimes tracking is lost (not very often). My question is about for me now to buy a Valve Base Station ($149). I'm told this will improve tracking, making it even better. But if I do that, then do I also need to buy a Pimax Lighthouse Faceplate ($200)? Or can I get by without the Faceplate, and just the Base Station? I'm thinking someone with a PCL has tried using a basestation with it and would have some advice? https://pimax.com/products/pimax-crystal-lighthouse-faceplate?_pos=1&_sid=ecd2ee50b&a…

2024 VR Flight is going smoothly and everything works fine. Then, for no reason I can isolate, the mouse ceases to have interaction with anything. The cursor moves but the pointer never changes to a hand. I can touch things but the sim is not aware of me touching, e.g. the throttle or a switch. While remaining in VR - I go into settings/control and verify the mouse buttons are set to interaction. I make no changes but do a back and save. While still in VR - Resume puts me in a cockpit where the mouse again controls switches and I can grab the throttle, landing gear, etc. Everything works smoothly for a while... And, once again the mouse loses interaction w…

Hi This actually makes me smile...but it is a bit of an immersion killer: I'm sure that there are times when the pilots have had a tough day and just want to get out but... 😀 I've logged this with Just Flight but haven't had a response yet...but they are bound to ask if anyone else is seeing this. It is, for me: - only in MSFS2024 and only when in VR. - doesn't happen in MSFS2020 (I have the update in both sims) - doesn't happen if I switch temporarily back to 2D - there in both the Quest 3 and Crystal Light So I can update Just Flight, anyone else seen this? It's a great update of a great mod…

Title about says it all. I'm willing to spend for the 5090 if that's what's needed for a smooth VR experience in 2020/2024 with the Crystal Light, but of course I'd rather not if it isn't necessary especially since I don't feel like having to worry about melting power connectors or shoddy QC. I'd honestly rather give my money to AMD this time around because Nvidia has become such a dumpster fire, but the early previews of the upcoming releases are that the best you can do with AMD is about the equivalent of a 5070Ti, and I'm not sure that would be good enough. I'm currently running a 3070Ti on a 7800X3d with 32g ram, and it just can't run the Pimax at any resolution …
