I know that, compared to some nations, the UK's version of 'superfast full fibre broadband' is a bit of a stretch of the imagination. Nonetheless, my streaming and PC spec, here in Old Blighty, is capable of some outstanding visual results in both the Pimax Crystal Light and Quest 3 and with both MSFS2024 and MSFS2020 when everything is running OK. I also know that I am in good company in that both sims will occasionally (actually, in the scheme of things, surprisingly frequently) suffer an unrequested change in some element - internal or external to the sim - that causes chaos until the good and knowledgeable folks round here come up with some genius fix that most …

Hi all, New rig 285k and 5090 with the Pimax 8K. Performance for me is excellent and I’m really enjoying the VR experience. However I have a blue circle showing just behind my seat but only when in aircraft that I can’t workout how to remove it. Also I’m getting white flashes far off in the distance along the horizon only when above roughly 20000 feet and when I move my head quickly. Below this altitude I don’t see it. I was thinking it was an overworked GPU but I still get these flashes with all settings turned off or low. I’m using activeSky so maybe that is causing it, I’m yet to try without it. I’ve tried different nvidia drivers without succ…

I am popping the virtual pfd/mfd out to dock into physical g1000 panels. The virtual panels go dark usually after 5 minutes or so, and then so do the docked panels as the feed is lost. I have tried NXI g1000 version, panel manager, turning off various setting and clearing any possible conflicting bindings in the honeycomb throttle quadrant, trying live weather, turning off cache and photogemetry, but problem persists. I have heard of a similar bug so just wondering if anybody knows what the fix was if any? https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/ms-c172-g1000-shuts-off-after-5-minutes/511325/2

Hello I built a new machine with 9950X3D+RTX5090 mainly for Pimax Super and MSFS 2024. I saw VR Flight Sim Guy got 40 fps in New York ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjAdf-JbNYE&t=2s ) . He has a 9800X3D, and that is the only difference between our system. I setup my MSFS 2024 and Crystal Super exactly as his according to his setup video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPseAZDaxKQ ), but to my dismay I only got 30 fps at most at the same location (London City Airport and New York). I tried Process Lasso and forced MSFS2024 to run on the 3D V-cache cores. I also tried enabling turbo gaming mode in the BIOS, which basically turned off the non 3D V-cache cores and ma…

I currently have a problem with my Crystal Light, which I only discovered recently as I started to do more night time flying. When it gets dark outside, I get terrible light bleeding/halo from all lightly illuminated elements in the picture. For example, when flying through clouds, then there is that fog/light bleeding around the entire window frame. Same with the armrests in the Fenix which are still slightly illuminated from the overhead panel. Therefore, night time flying isn't dark at all and the picture looks terrible. On the internet, there are so many people claiming that the Pimax Crystal Light has great black levels. Unfortunately, not for me. Does anyone know wh…

I have constant and bad shutters with my Varjo Aero. Even with the lowest graphics settings. Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core Processor 3.40 GHz Installed RAM 32,0 GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (24 GB) In SU3 beta the picture quality is perfect. The cockpit view has never been that sharp. I know that my processor is a bottle neck, but does anybody have with a similar hardware decent user experience in MSFS2024? At moment I have fatal problem in VR mode. The screen goes full black, and I can't use VR mode at all. I will wait till next SU3 beta update and if it does not help, I go back to SU2 and reinstall drivers…

Finally installed the 5090 last night and did some test runs today. Some quick observations - this is on FS2024 sim update 2, latest Nvidia driver and the OpenXRToolkit with FOV crop (42xx x 35xx resolution): 1. Overall the gain in VR is around 10fps, about 20-30% increase compared to the 4090, pretty much as expected. SU2 reset all my previous VR graphics settings optimized for 4090 which were closer to High than Ultra. 5090 is pretty much on full Ultra, so the difference could be a bit bigger if I also get settings optimized for 5090. 2. I'm able to run almost everything on Ultra with 5090, including the *clouds*. I can fly around NYC at 1000ft with ultra clo…

In the latest BETA (edit: 2024), air marshals are back. They will also walk backwards if you keep approaching them. In 2D we have this: So I just toggle on VR mode with a push of a key, and this is what is seen. The marshal is gone. He is hiding. They don't show up in VR, but if you remove your headset, and toggle off VR mode, and look at the monitor: there he is !

I just managed to get my old G2 working in Windows 11 a couple of days ago. I upgraded my Win 10 installation a few months ago but only recently realised that the G2 might be a go in Win 11. But I'm having a connection problem in FS'20, where it will disconnect/reconnect over and over. I haven't had much experience with this configuration, so it is not yet clear to me whether my connection problems are related to some sort of residual incompatibility between the G2 and Windows 11. I got a Pimax CL for FS'24 on another machine, so I'm not dependent on my G2 rig for simming, but it would be nice to get some more value out of it. Have any of you guys noticed a…

I've been using the G2 Reverb for a couple years now and have things pretty well dialed in for my current system ( 9800X3D/64GB RTX4070S/12GB, all drives are NVMe ) and fly with a pretty consistent 40 FPS. I use OpenXR tool kit to implement most of the recommendations. I am not happy with the sharpness or clarity of the G2. It just always seems like there is a light haze or not quite visible fog in the air. Looking around, even in External view, the scenery is not crisp. When I set the systems up for maximum clarity, with no regard to FPS, I still see a lack of clarity. Is it possible to see better quality images with my current CPU/GPU if I upgrade …

Pre-order open Total price (Excl.Tax): €876-€1,169 https://pimax.com/products/pimax-dream-air-se?variant=41473344667691 Standard version to compare here: https://pimax.com/products/pimax-dream-air What is your opinion?, will be this the real substitute for the still unbeatable HP Reverb G2 in many aspects for flight simulators? One thing is that it says that only has ¿¿90º+?? of FOV, what does it means that of "+", meanwhile HP G" has 98º..., that maybe it is a no purchase, minimum the same of HP G2 haha, I don´t want steps behind. The nits concern me also. Resolution it is ok for the hardware in the next 10 years, HP G2…

I use a Crystal light and I used to use the OpenXR toolkit to take screenshots. Due to random crashes, I stopped using it. I have tried using the nvidia overlay and using the screenshot function but it takes a picture of both screens. The MSFS screenshot function does not seem to work correctly in VR for me (it seems to lag, if I take a picture while looking to my left, it takes a picture of the tail area). What are some of the ways you use for MSFS 2024 to take screenshots in VR? Thanks

I've read thru all the stuff here and elsewhere about making 2024 VR run smoothly. I did have quite a bit of experience with VR in 2020 and other Steam games. At this time my Steam VR 2024 works very nicely at 40 FPS with good quality and no stutters. But... at times VR becomes quite annoying and sometimes impossible to deal with. The lost of mouse cursor actionability is annoying but easily fixed by dropping out of VR and back into it. But today when I returned to the VR session - I lost all ability to use the mouse cursor to control anything. And, all the controllers (Bravo throttle, CH Pedals, TM 320 flight stick) did not communicate with the sim. Th…

I’ve been away for awhile from flight and I thought I’d boot up 24 again. Even with Settings down on medium or low, I can’t fly for more than about 30 minutes without a crash very jerky and the sound is chopping all over the place. so I returned to MSFS and with the same hardware set up it’s a solid 35 frames per second and really really really smooth is 24 just not optimised yet or is it that the quest two is just not up to the job? Any thoughts? I’ve got 24 for about another six months as it was part of a Broadband package that gave me game pass for a year where I actually own MSFS outright
