I have installed SimXR, checked and configured passthrough. I start FS2024, open a SimXR window, develop a window but passthrough isn't working. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@zorro747 posted a question in one of the threads in the main forum relating to how the new iFLY 737Max8 performs in VR. Only used it so far in MSFS2024, but: Great! I have been flying this with both the Quest 3 and the Pimax Crystal Light and both have been giving me excellent results. I say that - but I do have some more tinkering to do with the external view (I am presently using a TUI livery but (I think) it is a lower resolution version and it looks a bit 'computer sim' in the external view). Internally, especially with the Crystal Light, the cockpit views are splendid. I would go as far as to say the cockpit experience through the Crystal Light is the…

Steam VR drivers to be released 29 August according to the VR Flight Sim Guy: How good is this? I've been using the old W11 version and praying they weren't going to update me by force, now it sounds like it will be all good.

Hi all, since SU3 I see that in VR only, COckpit textures from 3th Party products, Like PMDG 777 and Ini A350 are not loading correctly. The in cockpit quality looks like there are no details at all and some textures are not loading at all. You can look through the blank textures from inside the cockpit to outside for lots of textured elements. Varjo AERO SU3 and only in VR. 2d is all normal. Anyone else seeeing this? Regards Marcus

Hi folks. I have recently been getting everything going with MSFS 2024 and all is generally well. I am a completely new flyer so only flying with the C172 G1000 right now until I learn some more. At any rate, my question has to do with clarity in the scenery (not the cockpit). As mentioned, I am using a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop. I use a 7800X3D and a 4090. I see videos all over YouTube in which VR scenery looks really sharp and clear. But to me in my system, it doesn't look that way. It isn't terrible but it sure isn't anything close to crystal clear. I wear glasses but I have prescription lenses in the Quest 3 and IPD is set right. It just never l…

I've got 2024 running well and Steam VR working well. Recently, I bought SimXR. Apparently it requires Virtual Desktop to work. I've purchased VD through Meta and also installed the desktop version. Now what sequence do I use to get everything started appropriately? Do I still use Steam? Do I have to manually start Virtual Desktop on the PC first? At what point during this do I start 2024? How do all the components work together? Much I am clueless on. Thanks.

I recently bought a Quest 3 to have a look at flight sim VR. On my gaming laptop it works fine, although too slow because I don't have an Ethernet connection to the router. However on my desktop, which does have a wired connection, and is running triple monitors, clicking on "Switch to VR" does nothing, not even an error message. Note that I am only running MSFS in single monitor mode for these tests. Any ideas?

Thanks to the good folks here I’ve (followed instructions) managed to remove AI default static traffic: by turning the many traffic settings back ON again then OFF while in game in MSFS 2024. This works well when not in VR and removes the static aircraft for VATSIM or Sayintentions. However when I switch to VR all static AC appear again. If I do the above ON/OFF method whilst in VR this won’t turn off the AC. Is it an SU3 beta problem, I don’t remember this problem in previous versions although I’m relatively new to 2024. I’m guessing all static aircraft are streamed so there’s no actual static aircraft files on my drive that can be deleted. Anyone got t…

..to run VR with crystal clear clarity? Reason i ask that, perhaps a little tongue in cheek, is for an experiment, i kept the PP at default and then in MSFS2024 i made the VR render resolution to 120%.. and oh my goodness! Using TAA mode in the Fenix, the absolutely expected stutter 2 FPS show ensued but i wasn't hoping for anything different... i just wanted to see what it would look like and i sure wasn't disappointed! The clarity was astonishing! Real life in fact... completely unusable, but just for a fleeting moment as i kept my head still, i wondered what do we need to do to get this happening in 2025... Perhaps in the immortal words of Dr Zaius …

I just built a brand new 9800X3D/5090 Win 11 Pro computer, and I'm able to run my HP Reverb G2 on it. Here's what it took: a Win11 23H2 install .iso file and an install USB built with Rufus that uses that .iso file. One huge issue with using that 23H2 .iso is that MS revoked its boot loader's certificate due to a boot loader vulnerability (so its boot loader no longer runs), but that can be worked around if secure boot is disabled in the bios. But it doesn't stop there: the Win11 install insists on secure boot being enabled. Fortunately the Rufus tool for building bootable USB drives has two work arounds for that: it can disable that check, and enable an install w…

Title says it. I am wondering how folks push buttons or turn knobs in the cockpit that are not bound to one of your physical controllers. I own a Quest 3 and Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo. Thanks.

I’m going crazy over game latency. I’m using SU3 beta. I spawn on a runway and see game latency around 20ms. Great. I take off and start flying and suddenly my game latency is 80 or 90 ms and my framerate is below 30, after being 60 moments ago. I don’t know how to stabilize the game latency. The Quest 3 is wirelessly connected to wifi 6e router, virtual desktop reports connection at 2400mbit. All testing done using c172 g1000. Are other people seeing this sort of all over the place game latency? I have a 7800x3d cpu, a 4090 GPU, 64gb of 6000mhz memory, and all m.2 drives and ssd drives. I should be able to get good performance like so many of the videos i see on youtube.…

I have struggled for the longest time trying to get a reasonable performance in VR from SU3. I have a pretty beefy machine (7800x3d / 4090 / 64Bg of 6000mhz memory, all SSD's, etc.). Just to try something else since I was running out of ideas, I dropped out of the Beta and went back to SU2. To my extreme surprise, my sim suddenly was wonderful to use. TAA, pretty high TLOD and OLOD, and game latency below 20 and native framerate (no SSW) of 35-45. Granted I am flying a C172 G1000, not a tubeliner, but my point is not about little planes vs big planes. It is about great VR performance out of SU2 and terrible performance out of SU3. Is this reasonable? Is thi…

I am using Virtual Desktop. I read that PF12 will take a screenshot. I hit PF12 and I hear a click sound, and I see a little banner in the lower right of the screen that says "Snapshot taken". HOWEVER, I cannot find any of the screenshots supposedly taken. I looked in the streamer app and defined a folder for the screenshots, but there's nothing in it. Can someone help me? I need a couple of screenshots to show a problem I am having with superimposed black images on my VR screen, ruining the view (not all the time). Thanks.

I am tearing my hair out trying to get VR to work smoothly for me. Let me start by saying what I have and what I am trying to do. I have a 7800x3d CPU, a 4090 GPU, 64Gb of 6000 memory, a dedicated WiFi 6e router, and a Quest 3. I am using Virtual Desktop. On the Virtual Desktop Streamer I have Automatically Adjust Bitrate, VDXR, and AV1 10-bit as the codec. In Virtual Desktop I am set to 80fps, SSW always on, and bitrate set to 125. In the sim I have tried both TAA and DLSS Balanced. Using medium settings for most parameters. The first obvious thing I notice is that moving my head around the cockpit is very jerky. Then, sitting on the runway with …

Lately when I bring everything up and switch to VR, I see a clear image of everything in the Quest 3, but superimposed on the screen are a bunch of secondary images on the screen. One is a solid black image of the plane and others are mostly black images of some buildings etc. Sometimes if I just start everything over it will go away, but other times it won't. Anyone know anything about this. This is NOT the black screen in your view that has been addressed. These are actual images superimposed on the screen image that are ruining the image you see. Quest 3, Virtual Desktop, AV1 (10-bit) codec, no SSW, TAA in sim. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
