Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I've had a new problem come up where I get quite bad sound stutters. It doesn't appear to affect frame rates and I've got a very high end system so it shouldn't be putting too much pressure on the GPU. But it's so inconsistent. Yesterday I flew EGLL-KSFO in the PMDG 777 and it was totally fine. Now I'm flying the return leg and I've got bad sound stutters. Can anyone help? Thanks

Is anyone using the Logitech G USB G Pro Flight Radio Panel with MSFS 2024? I've seen a few videos on the subject but would like to get some actual user info from some of you on whether or not it works, without having to get some other app or hardware for it to function properly. If you're able to use it, did you have to do anything besides plug and play? I know it works for most people in 2020, but I'm only looking for functionality in 2024. Thanks.

Coming back to MSFS after a few years immersed in DCS. I saw the Fenix BFU being advertised and am really tempted to buy it and get back into long range IFR commercial simming again but I see that MSFS2020 and 2024 are still running side by side. Is this like the old days when everyone ran different versions of P3D alongside each other because some addons were only available for certain versions? Or have things changed up a bit? I still have MSFS2020 installed but I can't tell whether MSFS2024 is worth it or not. It appears that most or all addons have been developed to be fully compatible with both sims so... what's the advantages and disadvantages?

I fly in VR and mainly on Vatsim. I can't get rid of static airport aircraft no matter what setting I use in "airport traffic quality" Any ideas?

Hey all, Got a bit of a weird issue in MS 2024. 99% of the time I fly the A2A Comanche and have 0 issues hand flying. Everything works as expected, it trims easily, elevator and ailerons respond as you'd expect, etc. However, anytime I fly any other type of GA or business class asobo aircraft, every control is so sensitive they are uncontrollable. For example, I have a trim wheel and with a C152, the tiniest adjustment results in the aircraft either shooting up or down to anywhere from 500 to 1,000 FPM. Elevator is the same - the tiniest input on my yoke and the aircraft goes zooming off either up or down. On a simple circuit I can't take my eyes off the…

Hello, Despite I have registered during the install of the latest update of FSUIPC7 (FSUIPC7 Installer v1.0.2 for v7.5.4), my copy is not allowing me to access the assignment menu. I just saw this video of MSFS 2024 that was posted by someone on Reddit, and it's one of the better videos I have seen for MSFS 2024: According to the person who posted that video, no custom add-ons were used. I think the hotel is probably custom handcrafted from the Canada World Update. But the rest of the scenery looks to be generated by the AI for MSFS 2024? A really impressive video, IMO.

Hi I have finally taken the plunge and installed MSFS 2024, having used FSX since then and got used to it, I am finding it difficult to indeed get used to MSFS 2024. I am using add-ons like PMDG 777 and find it really annoying you cannot have the 2D pop-out like the FMC, having asked PMDG they say that it is no longer been a feature since MSFS 2020. I miss many aspects about FSX and find MSFS 2024 a bit overwhelming, therefore do you think MSFS 2024 will eventually allow the 2D pop-outs like the CDU etc? I also use the CH Yoke, however again I cannot find ways of setting the way you look around the Flight Deck using the CH Yoke like I could in FSX, FS2…

As a MSFS2020 user I am now stuck in an upgrade ‘no man’s land” and it’s now at the point where I won’t/can’t spend any money on the hobby - which is counter to what the developers want. have purchased aircraft and scenery for 2020 some of which I’m not sure can be updated for 2024, so I’m staying with 2020 for now. But because I know that 2024 is the sim that will now be the main focus, there is no way I will invest anymore into 2020. In a similar way, when I am forced onto 2024, I will either be so late into the sim that it will be pointless buying addons or there will be talk of an even newer version. Hi, I recently installed Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (Steam version), but I’m having serious installation issues: When I launch the sim, it skips the content installation step (no prompt to select installation path or download 150+ GB of content). It goes straight to the main menu with limited functionality. Content Manager is missing, and I can’t install any purchased addons. The Marketplace is broken – when I try to purchase something, Steam opens in a foreign (gibberish) language and hangs on loading. Debug says 'limited by mainthread'. Yet, as you can see from attached HWINFO screenshot, neither GPU nor CPU is fully utilized. What in the hell is going on here. 7800x3d and rtx5090 64gb expo ram. Run Cinebench to test performance and stability, all flying colors. Also Cyberpunk 2077 all maxed out, ray tracing path tracing and whatnot utilizes GPU at 100% and CPU at 80% and runs flawlessly smooth without any hiccups. Any ideas?

Ok, so has anyone had this happen before? I go to take the exam and before I can even get to the 'fly now' page, I fail cause the aircraft has crashed.

I am on SU3. I just happened to look at my rolling cache folder and found there was no file in it. So I went into settings to the rolling cache settings. But neither the size setting or the path setting will let me type anything. The path setting shows a picture of a right mouse being clicked on the right side but no matter what I do I cannot define a rolling cache. Anyone else seen this? Any advice on how I might deal with this? I think rolling cache is an important part of the system. Any help greatly appreciated.

I came across this on the MSFS forums SU3 Beta discussion. I was skeptical but I tried it by disabling OffscreenTerrainPreCaching on the USEROPT.CFG> The result is an increase of about 25 FPS on my system. Stutters when panning are gone, just an overall smoother experience. How is the FPS in asobo 787? For example compared to PMDG 737, asobo 747 etc? Otherwise it should be fine plane? I would like to know as for 20euros it seems a good deal, but i'm mainthread limited and can run only PMDG, FBW, ATR, but for example inibuilds a320 I have too bad fps.

Does anyone know A. if the plane works in MSFS 2024 and B. is the plane any good?

Hey simmers, My MSFS Addons Linker doesn't start anymore from its current and for-ever location (d:\MSFS Tools\MSFS_Addons_Linker). The shortcut doesn't work. Nothing happened. As well as launching/opening directly the .exe If I launch it from a different location/folder... it works! If I launch it via a batch/command line... it works! Same behaviour for the 2024 and 2024 exe (0.29.9303.23827) While it's a minor annoyance and not a major issue, I'm curious about the cause. Given that my Windows 11 system is frequently updated, many factors could be involved. Thanks for your help!

After purchasing a new PC last December I've flown MSFS2020 almost daily without any CTD's errors or any other flight loading problems UNTIL last Thursday when after selecting the Fly button it would hang at 90% and not load the flight even in Safe Mode. I tried updating my NVIDIA drivers using DDU, deleted various caches, had Steam verify files, did a complete MSFS reinstallation, did a sfc/scannow but nothing worked and all my other programs continued to work just fine. This morning after pulling what remained of my hair I decided to join the SU16 Beta and now everything works as before and I'm currently in the middle of a four hour flight with all my add-ons running …

Apologies if this has been asked before. I generally fly the PMDG 777 and Fenix A320 in 2024...what setting should turbulence be set at? I read something online that the recommendation is LOW but I'm worried that won't give me any sensation of turbulence at all?

I'm finding that I like this setting. Fixes things like stutters at big airports and especially the blurry landing textures. I only enable when needed. dd
