Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi everyone, I was zipping around in Paris for the first time since the World Update 4 and admired the Louvre, Palais de Luxembourg, Eiffel Tower and a few other POIs and when I approached the Arc de Triomphe, I only saw a standard Building and I have no idea why. Content Manager tells me everything is up to date (in previous World Updates we had to download POIs in the Content Manager as far as I know because they are not streamed) and I also have enabled photogrammetry in the Options. Since I see the other buildings mentioned above, I think at least some of the World Update IV can be seen, but I have no Idea why the Arc de Triomphe is missing 😞 …

Hey, I have a commercial DEM20 (EU2-DEM) in the FS2020 simulator, which covers e.g. Austria and Italy and the Alpine region. I just installed the free DEM10 from Austria add-on from Flightsim.to. How does the FS2020 interpret when there are two different elevation models in the same area? Can I use both models I mentioned without any problems, even if they partially overlap? In my second simulator, P3D4.5 shows the most accurate mesh area in each case, if there is an overlap.

I purchased the Carenado Piper Seneca and it seems too sensitive on the controls. Is there a setting like in the FSX days to correct this? Or do I have to adjust the controls (CH yoke and pedals) via FS2020? it just does not seem realistic. Thanks !

Gidday chaps, I am pretty much just flying vatsim these days, and was wondering what settings to turn off/on as regards seeing other planes... i think that multiplayer just adds planes that other online users are using on vatism or not..is that correct? Should that be turned off? Any other suggestions most welcomed! Thanks guys D

I'd thought I'd seen discussion of this but I'm not locating any. How are ya'll performing long haul flights? So far I've figured out that "Travel To" is a great way to ruin the flight....Now on a KJFK-EGLL run to continue my world tour from KSAT having finally learned the A32NX to the point I can pre-flight, program, etc. and get up to CRZ but man another 5 hours? Any advice greatly appreciated, meanwhile I hope nothing breaks while I go ride a few miles.......

I have to reinstall due to the MSFS 2020 app being obliterated when I tried to reset it (wouldn't open using the desktop icon). So, I made sure Windows 10 is updated and the apps in the store were updated. In my library, I clicked "install", checked that I had plenty of space on my SSD, and within 3 seconds of installation it gives me an error. No specifics, just "error". Tried several more times, then rebooted the computer and tried again. No joy. I couldn't do a standard uninstall of the program before I tried reinstalling because I could find nothing to uninstall - nothing in apps and nothing in the Control Panel Programs. What am I missing here? Thanks!

Is it recommended to remove the Asobo default airport when I have a payware, the same one ? For example ORBX LOWI. Thank you

I am looking for a map that shows all Installed airports, be they payware, freeware or MSFS airports. Little NavMap shows some, however not all show up on their map even with the 'force map to show add-on airports' activated. It does not appear to pick up all the airports in the community folder and differentiate them by showing them on the map with a yellow circle. Thank you. Rolf

Am I the only one still struggling with the MSFS autopilot? In my experience, a small aileron control input (like a slightly miscalibrated controller) can over a short time, cause the autopilot to put me into a spiral dive, without DISCONNECTING! I just did a test flight in the Bonanza with NAV/ALT hold on the autopilot. If I nudge the yoke a bit, the airplane reacts, the AP corrects, and if I hold the yoke position, the AP reaches its limit and puts me into a spiral dive, without disconnecting. If I move the yoke violently, the AP disconnects. HDG mode, same thing. Are any of you seeing an autopilot that controls the plane, even when the yoke is moved …

I am currently flying the bush mission in the Sierra Nevada. Many times, the landing area is not obvious. The runways are often grass or dirt, and MS's pictures don't clearly indicate which of the many possible landing areas are the runway. For example, a runway may have a dirt road that runs parallel to it for about the same length, and the "runway for credit" is actually the narrower of the two. If you don't stop the plane on the correct one, the mission does not end successfully. Hi, i downloaded msfs about a week ago and i downloaded some addons and everything was fine until i downloaded pushback zoomer, a a380, sound pack for the 747 and the english us language pack. I loaded up msfs and the world map doesn't show the menu, how can i fix that?

Simmer seeks advice (this is the personals, yes?) For no reason that I can see, my cockpit camera view has suddenly gone crazy. Specify any location, any aircraft, hit "Fly". Scenario loads with sitting on runway waiting to go in external view. Switch to cockpit view and after a second or two the view starts pointing up towards the cockpit roof and swivels around at random. I can change the view with the mouse but it's fighting me all the time and I can't keep a stable view at all. I packed up my PC last night and going to ship it back to the manufacturer, for them to hopefully fix it. I got out my 8 year old Dell with an i5 3.1 Gz with a Geforce 1060 6MB vram and P3D Version 3.5 . Fired up the PC, hooked all my controls up to it, and launched P3D. Took forever to boot up P3D, guess it was rusty or something. Finally got it running, and I realized that I had totally forgotten all my control button settings for my 4 controllers. I bought MSFS on steam and chose my f: drive (HD) - OS Win10 for the installation everything works fine, but now I would like to move it to my e: drive (SSD) the only thing I found was this: "from Windows settings from the start menu, go to apps. Find the app you want to move, click it, click move, choose new location" when I do this, it doesn't give me the option to move, only to uninstall. Is there any other way to move the installation, or do I have to uninstall and reinstall with the entire download again? Thanks for any help.

All of sudden, when I fly out of VHHX Kai Tak, I cant. When I load my flight out of KaiTak, It CTDs. OK. so removed , Kai tak. saying not compatabil, '' Than I fly out of WIII. Singapore. .I cant fly out of this either. It ctd. I can fly out most other. I don't know how may add on it fails. any ideas.

This has to be one of the more insane locations for a runway in the sim. You have to ask why ?

Noted a few stutters of late that are fairly regular and about a minutes apart, so I suspect windows 10 may be responsible. Firewall or virus scan? Which ones (if any) do you keep on or switch off? Is there a quick way to do this or can they be set to ignore msfs or my entire E drive if necessary?

Game Pass does not run under Windows 10. It launches and the just quits! I am trying to update Game Pass ant it just appears to hang!!! Any ideas? I will subscribe monthly to review what changes have been in MSFS 2020 and now I want to buy a third party A/C. Thanks

Good evening, I was just wondering if there was a way to extend the draw distance for buildings, trees etc. over and above the in-game max settings? I also notice the terrain morphing a lot ( even up close) as I approach it. I'm just finding screenshots looks off with everything fading out somewhat close. Thanks.
