Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have gone through every one of Roberts tutorials and turned what he says into a hopefully very easy to follow PDF, it was for myself but thought I would share it. I am still waiting for a Shutdown tutorial, so please class this as BETA I will update it when needs be and I get my hands on it myself. It seems very easy to get into and this should help even more. Once I get into the DC 6 I will do a more hands-on version. Am I having a senior moment or is this not available now? I was trying to report a problem and both the pinned topic here and the MS forum site just seem to take me on a circular tour. The Zendesk screen has a "how to contact support" link, and on the page that takes you to is a heading for "in-game issues" which includes a link marked "report a bug". Select that and you're straight back to the Zendesk screen! Has anybody got a working link to somewhere I can actually report a bug? (or quite happy to be put straight if I'm doing something dumb here) cheers, Andy

It's a shame that almost after a year, our friends at XPRealistic can't release his finished "FSRealistic" for FS2020 until "something" is done to allow one final piece ... a part of the SDK he doesn't have yet... as a customer and a great advocate of XPRealistic (the greatest single handidly best addon to the XP world as far as I believe) is so desparately needed here in FS2020. Hey guys is it ok if I switch this option off ? i disabled multiplayer live as i was getting bad lag and pauses whilst panning.which has helped. should disabling traffic also help? thanks mike

Can someone let me know if the VNAV function on the CRJ AP works and when / why I would use it instead of V/S? Is it similar to VNAV in an Airbus and will follow the appropriate speed and altitude restrictions? Thanks!

Recently with WT Mods my RNAV approaches have been great. Not all work the same which adds to the fun. Also ground handling seems much improved in the Daher and G36. And finally a better cockpit feel in rough air. VR would be too much for me. 🤑 Cheers bs

I am playing around with the SDK creating bush strips. I have followed several tutorials and experimented. I am stuck on one major issue: I can't seem to exclude autogen scenery and foliage. I enclose a building/foliage I want to exclude in a polygon and then delete it. It goes away and a polygon is added to my scenery. When I save the scenery, it pops up a new save dialog and I don't know what to call the file or where it should go. I have tried multiple places within PackageSources, tried different naming schemes and tried adding it to my main scenery xml but nothing seems to work. Oh, so last night I could reproduce the issue I mentioned in another thread (can't remember which one) a couple of days ago. If you haven't seen that comment I was mentioning a situation where I suffered FPS in the low teens while on approach to an airport in the middle of nowhere. But upon closing in on the runway (and coming in slightly too hot) i pulled the throttles back to idle and noticed that I got back all my frames the second I did. Last night I was planning to practice hand flying. I took off from Victoria, BC, (CYYJ) and flew around for a bit and decided that I would land at Vancouver (CYVR). Victoria is an uncontrolled airfield so, after guessing a suitable runway (actually, no guessing, just the shortest taxi lol) I made the correct calls. To call CYVR I selected Vancouver from the drop down list. Things went pear shaped as I could only have CYVR as an uncontrolled airfield. There had been plenty of calls - and ATC - coming on the radio clearing aircraft to land on 26L when I had not changed the frequency from Victoria. Nope, I could not get CYVR ATC. Hello all, This is my first post on this forum. It's also the first time I have ever flown a commercial airliner. I went for the A32XN mod because I saw a real A320 pilot recommend it on Youtube. Starting from CYSE flying South, I'm seeing strange geometrical artifacts when arriving Vancouver area. I don't mean the known issues of PG cities, but there are geometrical/pyramidal artifacts on the countryside which disappear when coming closer just to appear again in remote positions.Other, more box-shaped artifacts appear and disappear on the sea towards Vancouver Island. Anybody else seeing this?

Hi guys, Just wanted to check/compare something with other setups. I searched on this forum and the old google, but couldn't come across anything. In cockpit view, turn OFF "Lens Correction" in the graphics display. On my setup, this drastically sharpened the instruments, especially glass cockpits. When I turn it on again, it's back to a bit blurry. Not sure if its just me, but I much prefer the sharp instruments with Lens Correction - OFF. Any input? Cheers.

Hey, After purchasing and installing MSFS-2020 from Steam on my PC and configuring my controls, I did some testing and a short flight. After that, when exiting, I did logoff my MSFS-2020. Now, every time I try to load the simulator, either directly or via Steam, the game gets stuck trying to connect to an XBOX account and show screen "Lets Enter". Has anyone gone through this or have any tips on how I can resolve this? Thank you so much. MOD EDIT - Adjusted font size to make message readable.

I had a hunch and found that if you load a flightplan from Simbrief for example with waypoints and altitudes (PANCPAOM @16000) and after established in a climb you then turn on AI Pilot and GPS you get a pretty good simulation of real VNAV/LNAV and so for I' pretty pleased with myself as I lumber across the Great White North @16000.Give it a try and see if it works for you. -btacon

Are the more recent AMD drivers less stable in MSFS? The last couple of updates seem to be for me, especially on long flights 4/5 hours or more). My GPU is regularly running at 100% according to Xbox Game Bar, not a problem in itself until recently. But I now get CTDs with a 'driver timeout'. I'm wondering now if I should roll back 2 or 3 driver releases to see if that fixes things. Has anyone had similar problems with the AMD Adrenaline drivers lately? And what is your solution, if any? Buying a different GPU is not an option!

Can the bold ones who have already purchased the DC-6 in spite of having an older computer like mine ( 4770+1080 combo at 2560*1440) could tell us about her performances, FPS-wise .I know I wouldn't be able to fly her to New York or London etc., don't care really, but should I be OK on more reasonable routes with Live Weather and get the 30+ that I get with other aircraft ?

What is wrong with Aerolite 103 and Nemeth Desings? There have been several product updates but still the extremely basic flight model thing is wrong. You cannot load the plane correctly without setting the pilot weight to ZERO. Otherwise, the centre of gravity is out of the limits and the plane is very nose heavy. Nemeth Designs must know that, but they have not fixed it (at least in the MSFS marketplace version).

Hi. I have all Just Flight PA-28R Arrows. But normally fly the non Turbo. When I land and apply brakes, the Parking Brake comes on, although visually in cockpit it is still off. To release it, I have to reset parking brake normally and then release it again. Any Ideas
