Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I "enjoyed" a CTD while buying the Jabiru at the marketplace. It happened at the end of the download.

I typically fly with a dozen or more addons - moved into the Community using AddOnLinker (wonderful tool!) From the time I start the Sim until I can see the plane on the runway is four to six minutes, depending on the addons I've selected. It is therefore - impractical to test the addons one at a time. So - does anyone have a tactic for determining which addon causes the CTD that does not involve testing each (I have many hundred possible) as an individual?

Since SU5. If say i wake up and start MSFS when i click fly the bar gets about 1/2 way then crashes to desktop. If a start MSFS again after the crash and press fly the sim loads and away i go. Never happened before. Anyone else having this issue?

I was trying to get rid of the blue eye with the arrow, and turned off a bunch of settings. Now when I mouse over the altimeter knob, I can' read the setting anymore. Anyone know how to turn that back on?

I'm still seeing people taking constant swipes at Carenado concerning their Waco and at this point I'm not finding issue with it. I think some just hate that developer for the sake of hating them. That being said once again they produced a nice product, the C170B. One bug has been found out of an otherwise great little aircraft. Is it normal to have one's online status marked "offline" and the option to switch servers greyed out (pop up list disabled) whenever multiplayer mode is switched off? This is what I've experienced since Sim Update 5. Ever since FS2020 came out, live traffic always has been very sparse and erratic in my case. Most of the time, I can barely see any live traffic, whether on the world map or in the game, even at large international hubs. (Very seldom, three or four little green planes will pop up on the world map, and soon disappear. Switching servers didn't seem to help). just a note for Asobo/MS if they read these forums... sincere thank you download was no problem (70 minutes) turned off AI traffic (per suggestion) turned on Legacy interaction mode (per suggestion) started flight boom, went from 30 FPS to 52 FPS very smooth I checked this carefully with two flights in two aircraft (A320 Seattle WA area and C172 Portland OR area). Huge for me was A320 final in KSEA right before update was 12-16 FPS and I just now completed the same at a smooth 54-56 FPS. Hi I'm trying to purchase the Carenado M20R from the Marketplace on MS2020, but when I click on "Buy&Download"/"Buy", there is a very brief flash of something on the screen, which doesn't even allow time to read it. After a few seconds, the "Buy&Download"/"Buy" reappears, but nothing happens. Anyone had this problem?

The click spots for the stock G1000 seem to be miss aligned. To get the autopilot to turn on I have to hit the HDG button. The rotary knob click spots are miss aligned as well. The click spots seem to be lower down the panel then the buttons are. Is anyone else seeing this? Dave.

I am hoping that someone may have had a similar issue as I've searched the forums, google and have yet to find a solution. I am attempting to start the FltPlan GPS application to connect my iPad to MS2020. When attempting to start I get two errors within the event log and the application never starts. So far I've done: Ensured Windows 10 is up to date. Run Dell Support assist to find any hidden updates. Removed .net v4, restarted, and added the .net feature pack. Haven't even downloaded SU5 yet. I try running FS2020 from my start menu, get a window briefly, then it disappears. Then nothing. Microsoft Flight Simulator shows up in task manager.... but no application to be seen. Anybody had this issue?

Pulling this out of the hotfix thread...so I've always run MSFS with Hyperthreading on, early on I found it greatly reduced stutters. Reading about others having better performance with HT off I gave it a try. I was watching FPS using both the steam overlay (I turned this on just for this test) and the Ctrl-Z mod. Flying out of ORBX KORS in the amphibious C172 with HT on I was getting roughly 57-59 according to the Steam counter, and 45-47 according to the Ctrl-Z mod counter. With HT off the Steam counter didn't change much (maybe up by 1-2 FPS generally?) but the Ctrl-Z counter dropped to high 30's. Now I'm just confused haha. Both seemed quite smooth a…

Not sure how to phrase this, but the latest update caused some weird things to happen. One example is the Airbus 320. Before the update you could select "Managed Speed" or "Selected Speed" by the arrows, and it would say which one it was. After the update you can still select it but it does not tell you which is which. I have checked all the notification options I know to check. Anyone else notice this? I, of course, turned off the new default "Lock" setting and went back to "Legacy" but even that does not help. Similar issues on the controls with the Citation...

My Mouse Left click doesn;t work as normal it has been reassigned? hmmm I don't know if I did something inadvertently or It goes reassigned. when I move the cursor to the Speed in APU, it shows Blue Highlght Speedmach Hold ? to Lock In the A320

In this case, I lost the black dash. So then I started thinking...what if I renamed the black cockpit folder so it was listed after the custom interior livery? Bingo! Thanks to these guys for creating such amazing work!

Trying to balance sim settings vs VRAM to also allow a bit of VRAM room for streaming and also to just make sure I don't blow through it all since I've found in the past that of course once it has to start swapping with system RAM the GPU usage tanks and of course FPS goes with it. I.e. streaming the freeware EGKK has generally been a bad idea unless using the older not fully custom version. So right now I'm loaded into Macco EGCC with the latest FBW dev version and in sim FPS counter says GPUMem Budget 4GB of 7GB. Task manager in Windows shows 7.2GB used. HWiNFO reports similar to Task manager. So am I using 4GB or 7GB+? Even previous to SU5 I'd see a similar …

Since installing SU 5, the most distracting thing by far for me is the sudden shimmering and increased aliasing of all objects especially in the distance but also objects nearby (airport addon buildings especially). I am running 4K with a render scaling of 80 as I was before this update and had great visuals with great anti-aliasing. As before I am using TAA anti-aliasing. Furthermore the ground textures and trees now look almost watercolour like and nowhere near as crisp. It seems to me like Asobo lowered the aliasing quality. Even at render scaling 100 in 4K, whilst better at a cost of fps, it still doesn't look anywhere near as good as render scale 80 in…

This latest update is so close to being great, yet it has some issues that make it easily the worst version yet. For example, I have tried 3 flights and I have had 3 CTD, so on that front this is the least stable version I have tried. It crashed trying to download. It crashes in flight. But the performance is so good (when it isn't crashing) that I am super pumped to load this sim up. I finally was able to use motion blur on Ultra and it really transforms the movement inside the cockpit. It just has a cinematic quality to it now, and the daytime lighting is really good. The C172 on floats is really well done, and the water effects look good... however, what does it take to turn off the warning message? It keeps repeating as soon as I advance the throttle, even a little bit..
