Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I just found that our Airport History isn't getting saved. I did a few flights after SU5 at various airports and it's still showing airports that I've flown at before SU5 released.

I've posted an image of the DA62 panel. The PFD shows a flight plan with TORIE as the next waypoint and the CDI shows a magenta line pointing in the proper direction. The PFD display advanced from the first enroute waypoint (VPSRT) as the plane approached VPSRT and the autopilot made a nice smooth turn toward the 2nd enroute waypoint (TORIE). The MFD map display showed the plane making the correct turn and advanced the magenta line to the proper heading from VPSRT to TORIE. BUT... the MFD flight plan never advanced to the 2nd waypoint (TORIE). About 90-seconds after settling on a heading to TORIE the autopilot made a 180° turn and flew a course back to VPSRT…

The latest version of the PMS50 GTN 750 now adds an icon to the toolbar to every plane and when clicked will display the gauge in a popup. The icon is added to every plane that I tried. Free Version (Basic): GTN750 Free (pms50.com) Cheers bs

The Beaver is a classic in itself and a classic from Milviz too, a high-fidelity recreation of this legendary airplane that the developers released for FSX and P3D a few years back. After months without hearing or seeing anything about the Beaver for MSFS, we now got the first image of the cockpit. We’re hoping for a floating version... 😍

Looks like this last update has made this aircraft unusable. I cannot move the throttles using the throttle lever on my Thrustmaster. Tried calibrating using the fly pad but no joy. I can move the throttles individually using the mouse. The stock A320 works just fine. Also noting the left and right landing lights switches are not working using the mouse click. Not so important are the beacon and nav/logo light switch is inop. This is getting very frustrating. I've removed and reinstalled the FBW A320, but that was no help. Hopefully this is something simple. I just can't figure it out.

Forgive me if this is common knowledge but not see many if any posts about the CRJ in SU5. Basically there is a bug on the PFD where the speed tape is broken. Should we be using Windows Game Mode with the latest update? It has been off on my rig (except for the GameBar) in the past and I'm not having any issues. Thanks bs

I thought my cordless mouse needed a new battery, since the pointer kept disappearing during flight. But after a new battery, the same behavior. Just by accident, I noticed that if the pointer disappeared, I could use the keyboard arrows to move the view just a bit, and suddenly the mouse pointer would reappear, although often in a different spot on the screen ? Though quirky, I can fly this way, but would rather have the mouse pointer back in a predictable manner. Is there a "legacy" setting that I need to try to find for the mouse ?

I just received notification of a mandatory update and it says: "A new mandatory update is available. Please update Microsoft Flight Simulator in the Microsoft store before launching" I clicked OK, it takes me to the home page of the Microsoft Store, but I cannot find the "UPDATE" button. Is it hidden somewhere? Please help. ( a screen shot of its location will definitely help) Many thanks.

I was wondering if anyone has upgraded from the Games Pass Standard version of MSFS, to a higher-specced 'owned' version? I'm considering doing this, as I'd love the default C172, Pipistrel and some of the other enhanced airports. ....but I'm petrified how the Microsoft Store / Xbox app, etc, etc will mess me up, while doing this upgrade! It's easier enough to do within the store, but I was just wondering if anyone had done it, to reassure me that it won't kill my MSFS installation, which is currently running really well? Cheers.

These people manipulate the threads/conversations to their favour i.e promoting an exaggerated viewpoint that FS2020 is unstable/disaster. SU5 has not been smooth for some but it's clear that there are people on these forums that develop for platforms such as XPlane/P3D which stand to gain from less people moving over to FS2020. I am not calling for these people to be outright banned, but if you are a developer on the platforms you should be highlighted as such when posting in the same way Moderators/Commercial Members/Contributors are flagged at this it becomes very clear that way what bias someone might have when posting something.

This is the only problem I have with SU5. Even with the latest hot fix. I have tried clean installing the fbw mod as well. But it keeps crashing every time I load up. I'm running out of ideas.

Hello, So since installing the latest update my status constantly shows "offline" even when being logged onto my account. Is there any known server issue going on or something else i am missing? Best regards

There is an optional Windows update that may help the issue. It is KB5004296, and it is an optional Cumulative Preview update. I normally don't bother with preview updates, and wait for them to go live the next month, but this one is directed entirely at game performance. There has been an issue with how Windows was handling power plan settings since March that caused performance issues, stutters, and low frame rates for a number of people in many games, and this update is supposed to fix that issue. It likely won't do anything for people with CTD problems, but it could help other performance problems and might be worth a shot.

After 6 hours downloading and install i had very poor performance from the sim constant CTD every 5-10 mins, as many of you here have experinced. This lasted all day Wednesday, very frustrating. lots of stutters then more CTD. What i did was disable AI traffic disable POI (far to many). for graphics, set to default for both PC and VR, render scale at 80 for VR, vol clouds at high since doing that, no more CTD, sim now very smooth and playable, i tested on different aircraft and cities (PMDG DC 6 full IFR flight, just amazing) so for the last 24 hours, zero problems. Granted the image is not as sharp as before, but no stutters at all and no CTD i …

I see the MD10 in the hangar, it wouldn't fly.

The sim loads and places the airplane at the chosen airport. The switches and knobs turn blue when the cursor is placed near them. They do not move. This is a complete reinstall (twice) from the MS store. Emptied the community folder before the upgrade. Is there a detailed guide to completely remove all pieces prior to update? I’m sure most if not all of there titles as well. Just wanted to notice a great job, especially after nonstop comments regarding slow updates in the Marketplace. Great to see the quick update, and hopefully a sign of things to come in the future.

I have only purchased a couple of items in the MSFS Marketplace, one being LVFR Madrid. I purchased MVFR Barcelona from their own website and this was updated for SU5 on Wednesday (I think it was)? I have just started MSFS and see that there is now an update for Madrid so from the usual two weeks wait perhaps they are speeding up a notch with add on updates! EDIT - Having just tried to install the update I am not too sure that speed is best, the download got stuck in a continuos loop, I turned it all off at attempt no 5

I found out the other day that I can't modify the aircraft.cfg file of the Aerosoft CRJ because I purchased it through the marketplace and it's encrypted. I later found out that the Dowsons' makerunways program can't read the .bgl files of add-on airports that are purchased through the marketplace because those files are ..... encrypted. So if you run a program that uses airport/taxiway info (e.g., PF3 ATC) it won't get that info from your add-ons. Now today I found out that the FSDREAMTEAM airports don't work correctly with SU5. They expeditiously issued a fix, but it doesn't work on airports purchased through the marketplace because the affected files are, you guess…
